Had a nice experience at Dr. Birks office. Got a referral to help with my migraines and neuropathy. Office saw me very quickly for the consult, and even during covid, Dr. Birk found a great medication for me. He gave me samples because I am having financial challenges. He was thorough and knows his stuff, but also to the point. Recommend highly.

Rest in Peace Dr. Birk. Thank you for all that you did for me. The community will be at a tremendous loss without your kind and compassionate heart. Youre already deeply missed.

Doctor Birk is wonderful. He is very intelligent and knows what he is doing. He is very kind and compassionate. Some people get mad that he doesn’t speak loud, but that’s just his ethnicity. Do not judge based on that, that’s how he was raised to speak and his culture he grew up in! He is very kind and will always repeat himself and speak louder if you ask him too. He knows he has a thick accent. The staff is super sweet and helpful! 100/10 would recommend doctor Birk! He is super caring and has a good sense of humor.

I like Dr. Birks straight forwardness, he is a very intelligent man and a good doctor. Im confident in his abilities. He walked me through my MRI in detail. Yes, he may have a less enjoyable bed side manner than others in his field, but I would rather have a doctor who knows his stuff treat me straight forward than one who is going to sugar coat it!!! The only thing I have dealt with at his office I didnt like was some of his staff.

Would have given a zero star if possible. This man had my husband in tears. Rude condescending dismissive and possibly racist. Very rude. We have seen so many doctors in the past year. And we understand that not all have good bedside manners however this was a terrible experience. Truly

I had a wonderful visit at Dr. Birks office. I have had headaches and shooting pains for many years. Other neurologists didnt believe me and wrote me off. Dr Birk took time to listen to me. He gave a samples for a medication which now, over the past 3 weeks, have eliminated my headaches...I am so blessed. I will keep coming to him. He is 10/10 in neurologic knowledge

Dr. Birk, is externally knowledgeable about his speciality. My grandma went and seen him and I accompanied her, he was quite at first and only asked basic questions. When he started on her testing, he explained the procedure to me BECAUSE I ASKED WHAT HE WAS DOING! Don’t always expect that a doctor doesn’t know that you don’t know what’s going on. Some doctors will tell you step by step what they are doing, some won’t. If you have questions just ask! But be polite about it, you also have to take into consideration his ethnicity, most make little eye contact as well as very minimal speaking, but once he noticed I was interested in what he was going we engaged in small talk the whole time. I definitely recommend him for any Neurological disorders and testing.

Dr Birks knowledge is exceedingly impressive. He diagnosed my condition in 1 appointment, and other Redding neurologists could never figure it out. He then treated my condition and I am pain free now. His office is beautiful. Wait times 5-10 min only

Dr. Burke has terrible staff. They are rude and very unprofessional. I wish I would have seen all the terrible reviews before I went in for an appointment. What a horrible experience. They talk to each other and completely ignore you. There is no greeting. They treat you as if you are a complete inconvenience. I would not recommend this Dr

The Man does know what he is doing, His bedside manner is atrocious.I have a few friends that also see him and think they same as I do, He loves to give cortisone shots but really doesnt want to fix your problems. Most of us were Refereed to him because we didnt want Surgery. Ive been through Pain Management, it was a joke. Ive been thru Direct Nerve Injections, Im Ready for Surgery tired of Injections that do nothing, And Dr that would prefer to keep his face plastered into a monitor then to look at the patient in the eyes and actually Communicate with them on a 1 to 1 level. You may be a Great Neurologist But you suck when it comes to Communicating with your Patients.

The staff dresses like slobs for being a professional office. Plus they tell you that everything is taken care for your insurance and they make the mistake and cant even fix it. Therefore you have to correct their billing mistakes.

He did not listen to what my questions were, he was in such a hurry to put me on medication...told him I was not interested in taking medication but he ordered anyway. Received a call from the pharmacy and it was not even the correct medicine for my original questions. If I could give less than one star I would

Worst experience I have ever had. No respect or compassion. Doesnt give you any information about what he is prescribing or why. Barely speaks even when asked specific questions. Rude and disrespectful. Does not respond to patients concerns. I would rather go without a neurologist than expose myself to another experience with Dr. Birk. I think his attitude was very detrimental to how I handled my diagnosis.

After first consultation I give his staff and him a 5. Will return after follow up to review againI had a work comp injury October of 2017. I had initial diagnosis and care in Santa Cruz where the injury happened. I had Dr. Tate here in Redding perform major spine surgery, and it was a success. Although, I still have same pain as before surgery, Dr. Tate did his job and I am grateful. Now onto Dr.Birk.I wish I did not read these reviews before hand. Started me with a bitter taste in my mouth.I did not choose Dr. Birk. The insurance of my employer, (Sedgwick), picked him as all the other doctors denied seeing me as its work comp. His appointments at the time when I scheduled were 1 month out. Not BadHis reception staff were excellent. Appropriately dressed I will add, (In medical scrubs). Only saying this because I read awful reviews by some angry people who noted they dressed as slobs. Not this time! They were courteous, and patient.Dr. Birk saw me within 15 minutes of arrival. He made eye contact, shook my hand, introduced himself. It was noted he did not speak as loud as many people of Redding do. I record my doctors visits with an audio device on my phone, he was notified and consented. (I forget stuff, always good to record important appointments too, take note).Dr. Birk listened to me. Dr. Birk asked me pertinent questions. Dr. Birk gave me a thorough physical examination. Dr. Birk expressed great knowledge of medicine and care regarding my situation and my body. I feel the communication between him and I was great. I asked him once or twice to repeat a statement which he did. Make not to sit close to him if you can, if you are hard of hearing. He was very informative and offered new types of care and treatment, when all the previous professionals seemed to be going in circles.Again this is an initial consulation. I was prescribed a medication, he informed me about it, and even had the medication on site. VERY convenient. After reading many reviews here about him before my appointment, it made me stressed. I even heard not great things from other medical professionals. However, after my tumultuous year with health care and attempts to obtain it through Californias workers compensation board, Dr. Birk has instilled a great amount of hope for me. I know I may not recover from this 9/10 pain in my neck, but I hope some of these reviews do not deter you or stress you as I did before my initial appointment with him.Respect earns respect, and Dr. Birk deserves yours.Take care and thanks for reading

What a horrible doctor, he didnt speak one whole sentence to nor did he even attemp to explain the procedure or answer my questions. He jamned the needles into my back and legs so hard i left bleeding. When i complained about the pain he was causing he said it is what it is, cant do anything about it. I asked him straight forward if the procedure would be painful and he said no. He lied. I think he shouldnt be practicing medicine if his patient is going to be leaving his office in more pain than when they arrive. My right leg is literally swollen from him poking me so hard. His staff is completely unproffessional and quite rude as well. They were making fun of patients that were on hold on the phone in front of patients waiting in the lobby!! I will not go back and im filing a complaint with the medical board.. What a joke!!!!

I gave 1 star because I could not give zero star. This Dr. does not care about you or your ailments. REFUSE to see him and go to Sac. When I left his office, my legs were a bloody mess (literally). I told him to give me a moment (I needed 10 seconds) to compose myself and he unrelentingly continued until I put my fist through the wall. This is not a Dr. that has any care for patients.
