Dont be afraid to call the hep is there

If your looking to feel and be safe, research other places. Me being an abused woman with children’s in here was the worse experience I had to go through in a Shelter. HR or administration do not solve a concern or a problem. You have to begged basically, to get anything. No back ground checks, be aware if you got children. Mentally exhausting being here. Fundings never available for the clients in need.

The people here are very friendly, and they put you at ease. Safe Berks was recommended by my doctor in Lancaster after my husband and I moved to Oley. I needed to see someone who was trauma-informed, and the lady I saw was terrific. She went on to pursue an even higher degree of education, and I just called to make an appointment with someone else. Oh: when you call, expect to leave a message. They return the calls to make appointments and what-not. (It IS a safe house, after all) Not sure if they only take women; If I recall correctly, men are also able to receive counseling. They also have a legal department to help clients! I have nothing but RESPECT FOR THESE PEOPLE!!!! They do what they say and try very hard to help people in abusive situations. Its important you listen to what they say. They can help you if you listen. They are over burdened with how many people need help working within a system that although you may hear has plenty of funding just does NOT. They have been helping people and have the knowledge needed but they cant help if you dont listen. I for one am beyond grateful! I personally deal with Stephanie, Marilyn and Maria. I love them for their dedication to helping me and everyone they guide thru this process. I really dont have anything negative to say the ENTIRE staff goes way beyond working endless hours. God Bless you and know that you do make a difference!

Safety is first fr u n children.security cameras. A welcoming staff,n understanding of ur situation. Counselor will see u right away. To find out ur needs.n will help wth getting a PFA,if necessary.

The only reason I put a start in here it’s so I was able to ride I’m a single mother of a 11year old girl I’m homeless I when twice to this place both time the tell me well you didn’t tell me he hit you so you don’t cualafi so I’m really struggling so and the young social workers the sit down with me to talk have a Dry actitud so yea you need to go with Bruce’s so you can get help go to show how much the really care
