I find waxing and sugaring to be pretty unpleasant. But Barbara was so sweet, quick, and made it slightly less painful. I like she works independently and not for a large company. I would definitely go back to her.

Wouldnt go anywhere else for my waxes. No need for a contract, I go every 5 weeks. Waxes are never uncomfortable or painful, no matter where on the body. Love the products used along with ones sold.

Barbara is wonderful! She puts you at ease and is efficient and gentle. Hair removal hurts for a brief second and not nearly as bad as at other places. I have seen Barbara several times over the last year and her service is always the same high quality.

Ive received wax services at salons and at places that are there for the sole purpose of waxing but none of them can beat the service at Bare Essentials Wax Studio. The studio is locally-owned and run by Barbara Calise, a licensed esthetician who gives me perfect eyebrows, with almost no discomfort, every single time. Whatever wax she is using nowadays is even better than before...and it was fairly painless before! The studio is small, but quite lovely and inviting...very comfortable. Barbara is very personable but is also professional and very careful when waxing. Ive never left thinking she took too much off! Prices are reasonable and on par with everywhere else you can get waxed, but the cost is more than worth it for the exceptional service and pleasant interaction.Just a logistical note:The first time I went there, it was in the dark and I had a hard time finding the building. The door to her office suite faces Six Forks Rd (just a couple of blocks south from Whole Foods) and is at the Six Forks St level. You have to enter the office park driveway, drive down just past the median, and make a u-turn to get back to her suite. In the daylight, this probably seems obvious!
