Love Dr Lane! He delivered my last boy in Aug 2020 and he was so caring for me throughout my pregnancy. He’s now my Dr again for my third pregnancy, I stayed with him because he’s very wonderful and since I had a great experience with my last baby I didn’t want to leave him. I moved so I travel about 45 min now to him on my appt days. It’s worth it. Thank you for being so kind and so nice to me and always answering my questions and caring about my Hands when they would to numb and hurt. Always took care of them and gave me shots when needed! Best OB in town. Def recommended him to anybody who is looking for a great OB and wonderful pregnancy experience!!!

Was told by front desk that This doctor will ONLY provide a repeat csection vs letting his patient choose vbac.

Dr.Lane and his staff are wonderful. I began seeing him 8 years ago when I was pregnant with my son, and continue to visit for yearly check ups and quarterly for birth control. He does routinely ask me to get an IUD but I just tell him no no I’m fine visiting every 3 months, and that’s that. Dr Lane is quirky and peculiar but that’s why I think I love him so much! His main/head nurse Beth is also great, she juggles the office craziness well! 10/10

First and foremost... my 1 star review has absolutely nothing to do with Dr. Lane himself. He is an AMAZING provider. He delivered my last baby and I moved away. I literally moved back to N.C. to have him deliver this baby. He is very thorough and extremely knowledgeable. I love him.Now his front desk staff is a whole other story. Because of the pandemic, they are having patients wait in the car until a room is available. As soon as I walk through the door I am asked, “Did anyone call you to come in”? No greeting or anything. I informed her that I came in because I needed to submit my insurance information. I have worked in the medical field for 15 years and I know that it is helpful to receive the insurance prior to bringing the patient back so that it can be verified. After I explained to her that they needed my insurance info, she paused, looked at me, and said, “Well I’ll take it now but you need to go back in the car”. I told her that I will. I also explained to her that since not all doctor’s offices are using this procedure, it would be wise to inform patients of this when they are setting their appointments over the phone. She responds with, “Well I do. I don’t know who you talked to”. I told her that the entire staff needs to be on the same page so that they don’t have to be greeted with such rudeness when they enter the office.His old staff was so friendly and welcoming. I miss them dearly. I feel that if you’re going to be the “face” of an office, you need to have a certain level of social grace, which this lady had none. Women are pregnant in the middle of a pandemic. The last thing they need is to be spoken to like a child during such a stressful time.I read the other negative reviews regarding the staff and it is unfortunate that so many people feel the same way. The staff is ruining the ambiance and reputation of Dr. Lane’s office. I won’t change doctors because out of all my pregnancies (I have 4 children), he is personally the best Dr. I’ve ever had.Update: Decided to cancel my appointment so I called from my car to tell the front desk that I would be cancelling my appointment and that I needed to come in to get my insurance card. My card with my name exposed was already on the desk when I came in. (Not good for HIPAA. But I’m sure this receptionist isn’t too concerned with that due to her extreme lack of professionalism all around). When I took my insurance card I stood there and thanked her. To which she didn’t even look up to acknowledge my presence. I have never encountered such a miserable human being at any doctor’s office I’ve ever been to in any state or country. And I have been to MANY. I will most certainly be calling Dr. Lane to inform him of my horrible experience.

Its sad to see this office get bad reviews. Doc delivered both my babies my first one being premature and a potentially dangerous situation when i went into labor and he saved both our lives that night. A couple years after my son was born i struggled with horrible ovarian cysts and he was with us every step of the way trying every trick in the book to make sure i was alright. This past year we planned to have our last child and i had a pretty rough pregnancy with her. Again, he was amazing... had me taking medicine to prevent another premature birth, closely monitored cysts on my ovaries while i was pregnant, had game plans in place for every possible issue we could have. The staff there are wonderful. Miss Kay at the front is precious, Beth, his nurse? She treated me like an old friend every day i came in i felt genuinely cared for. But the doctor himself i cant say enough great things about. Hes a wonderful, hilarious, very caring and knowledgeable guy and my husband and i truly adore him. After my delivery with my daughter he came to check on us in the morning and our coffee machine down the hall wasnt working so he came back a little while later with coffee for both me and my husband and snuggled baby for a bit before sending us on home. We wont be having anymore children and we can honestly say were going to miss everybody here terribly. Im forever grateful from the bottom of my heart to this doctor and these lovely ladies. You guys are the best and we love you! 💚💜💚💜

Dr John Lane is by far the best OBGYN doctor I’ve had. He is caring and very attentive. He makes sure you are comfortable and reassures you everything is ok when feeling paranoid about any symptoms that are new to you during pregnancy. Unfortunately I had to move out of state and I’m sad to have left Dr John Lanes care.

Currently 39 weeks , awaiting my baby boy. Dr. Lane has been great. The staff has been amazing. The experience so far has been good... I wish they gave more ultrasounds with Medicaid but oh well. I guess I’ll be seeing baby boy’s face when he comes out. Nice waiting room. Nice patient rooms. The staff and Dr. Lane was sooo sweet to my toddler. Gave her crayons and paper to draw on... plenty of lollipops 🍭... She loved going with me to Dr. Lane’s docs office for her little brothers appointments. Overall experience was good. Excited to give birth to my boy... praying that labor and delivery goes as smoothly as the experience at this docs office.

I had a pleasant experience with Dr Lane and nurse Beth. After losing my gyn and loss of a job during covid I couldnt have had better last minute care. I was almost in the 2nd trimester, fighting to find a obgyn during a time where many offices werent accepting new patients and or where scheduling so far in advance that i wouldnt be able to get prenatal care until the middle of my second trimester. I am grateful and thankful! Dr Lane delivered my baby yesterday. He was resilent, reassuring, calm and patient during the process😊

I highly recommend Dr. Lane! He delivered my both my babies, three years apart. He has great bedside manner and is very down to earth. He asked questions at every appointment and seems genuinelyconcerned for his patients health. Im sorry to read all the negative reviews about the office staff. Every single staff member I spoke with at every appointment was very friendly. The reason Im leaving a review is because our insurance has changed and I wont be able to have our third child through Dr. Lanes office. I was so disappointed. Ill miss you guys! Thank you for caring about your patients!

My daughters OB and she couldnt have asked for a better more personable doctor. He was available at any time and his nurses and office staff are wonderful. Ive had 2 children and 2 other grandchildren so Ive experienced lots of different OBs. Dr. Lane was amazing.

Dr. Lane is awesome. From the time I check in until I check out I always felt welcomed. The furniture is made for women and is so comfortable. The atmosphere is very inviting and soothing. He was always fast in replying when I had questions and had called the office. My delivery was smooth and went fast. I would definitely recommend him to everyone.

Dr. Lane is wonderful! He is very down to earth and has great bedside manners. He explains things on your level and makes sure you understand. Very laid back. Unfortunately, we lost our baby girl at 36 weeks and it was sudden, so he was unable to deliver her, but he came to my room to check on me as soon as he got to the hospital the next morning. He was very sincere and personal, comforting us for quite a while. Highly recommended!

I changed doctors at the last minute because a friend used this doctors office. Here nor there-My experience was very simple in and out. The receptionist at the time was just a body not rude but just there... (non personal)My delivery went very fast, no meds, no doctor he did not have time to make it. (l was sent home twice that day) even tho, l was two weeks over due and told the doctor that l thought she was coming.. (safe delivery)I did not want anymore kids so l asked for ligatiation which was completed with sucess. I begun having issues from the what l believed it was the ligation. I spoke to doctor Lang and his nurse and they told me it was unlikely. I pulled up the same symptoms that l was having that could have been associated with the procedure I had done. Of course, he said that it was highly unlikely that a None the symptoms l experienced was coming from the procedure he did. He told me face to face he will remove them if needed ( felt reinsured) only to find out he just told me what l wanted to hear.I ended back up in the hospital and my mom called him and said hey can we try to take these things out? ( very respectfully) he lied and went off the deep end. I know know doctors are human, but l never thought in a million years that one would be so rude. I could go on and on but just beware that he will tell you what you want to hear and he is not really here to help.Needless to say, you make your own choice but reviews are not always to bash some people its trying to make you aware of the mistreatment that a person experienced. With this info, you do as you wish.

My experience was just terrible . I relocated from VA to N.C. and needed to find a doctor. I stayed at the office because when I moved I was 5 months in my pregnancy and no one likes to take you when you are that far along and once I met him I was 6 months smh.Dr. Lane do not have personal relationships with his patients. You are basically just a number . My first time meeting him, he didn’t even remember that I had never met him because I was seeing his nurse or whoever is his fill in . Once I delivered he kept pushing for me to have the birth control that you insert which I declined. I started having mild anxiety 6 weeks after birth and this man prescribed me 100 mg of Sertraline to start off with.... like who DOES THAT. It made me 100000 times worse . Knowing now you suppose to start off at 25mg . I was prescribed triple the amount ! When I told him the medicine was too much he said well just don’t take it . I asked him can I cut it in half ? He basically said do whatever u want with .

Edit, read bottom. Let me start by saying after reading the online reviews, I was hesitant about coming to Dr. Lanes. Please just go see for yourself, dont pay attention to the reviews. This will be my third child, and this was actually my best experience at a Dr.s office. When you come in, its very colorful and inviting, unlike a lot of other offices, that are drab, and boring. The staff are very down to earth, not fake, just real genuine people, including Dr. Lane. He is very straight to the point, and a good sense of humor. I have to say, if the rest of my experience is anything like the first, Im really looking forward to Dr. Lane bringing in this new life. So please go in for yourself, see for yourself like I did, I was very pleased with this office, and look forward to upcoming appointments. Update,deducted stars, Dr. lane made rude comments about my weight gain, and the nurse always seems like she hates her job. The front desk girl, absolutely fabulous tho!

Been going there since I was 13 weeks along. They are very friendly and listen to all your concerns as well as answer your questions best they can. If you believe there may be something wrong and call they will often have you come in first thing in the morning to check and make sure you and the baby is okay. The only thing I dislike is they did not do a test at all to see if there could be any defects with the baby because I would not have an abortion even if there was something wrong. I would rather know if something is wrong so I could prepare mentally.

Very down to earth people that work here. My delivery was handled professionally at Rex and Dr. Lane does work with Medicaid, which extends staff to assist patients with any needs. Jennifer, the social worker assigned to Dr. Lanes office was great to work with: helpful, honest, thorough and informative. The receptionist was available and flexible handling all requests. Dr. Lane and his staff were always helpful with appointments, needed forms from doctors notes to disability information requests were completed quickly, and the overall care and the delivery went great! Thank you so much for being there to for us!! You must be ok with realism at this office, because thats the environment.

He delivered my first son. I got chicken pox on the labor day. Dr. Lane was handled it very well. He saved me and my sons life during the labor.. and post pregnancy care also very gud. I got little heavy bleeding on Christmas day.. he came to office along with nurse within 15 to 20 minutes... he was just wonderful.. thanks to him .

Great doctor! Very competent and a great sense of humor. But his new receptionist however is another story. She is rude and unprofessional because of her Dr.Lane has lost a long time patient of over 5years! I would suggest he be aware and careful of whom is in the front of the office because it is a direct reflection of the business and right now its not looking very good!

Jennifer is rude and his new assistant is rude as well. He treats patients that have NC prenatal medical fldifferebt from Blue Cross blue Shield patients. I had my first kid with him and he was late. When I stress my concerns about my pregnancy they give you the run around as if a mother/woman doesnt know her body. Hes very old school and is sarcastic feel like they are rude only to minorities.

Dr lane delivered both of my children when he practiced in charleston West Virginia. He was very professional and caring. After learning of him moving I decided there would be no more children for me because he was the only ob I trusted fully.

TERRIBLE PEOPLE. 1ST TIME CALLING AND I called this office with medicaid for pregnant women. Staff would cut me off every time i tried to answer HER question like she did not want me to finish my answer. They do accept medicaid for pregnancy but she had me going around in circles. You need your card, not only the number. Found my card, gave them a call back and she still sounded uneasy. Mind you this was like my 6th location that Ive called to. So when I call i expect a happy tone from the staff since i will be taken care of there. She made me feel unwelcomed OVER THE PHONE. After finding my card and giving her info, turns out Im still showing family planning only, duh...i just told you that I went to have it switched over, its just not in the system, and that id like to schedule anyway and it should be changed, if not, Ill paycash upon visit like she rudely suggested. It was a go...only for her to give me another, welllll this and that and the third. Totally rude, dr. John Lane are losing patients. I just had to come look them up After calling to see what others say and sadly it was more than one who complained about the staff. 😷😷 i wouldnt want my care in their hands. Total disgrace. God bless this facility and those who have to sadly go here.

Dr. Lane was not educated on pregnant women on methadone like the office stated he was. He stated he wanted me to go down a mg a day. Had me in tears when I walked out on my 28 weeks appointment. When I wanted a second opinion and asked for my records to be transferred, Mrs. Kay took it upon herself to dismiss after I had not found another obgyn(which by law they are not aloud to dismiss you until you have a doctor in order) she called me after hours and was very rude. I would not recommend this office to another soul. And they really need to update the paint on the walls because its very bright.

Had my first prenatal appointment with Dr. Lane this past Friday. I read the reviews, and so far, I dont see the issues. He took his time to speak with me and my husband before he ever laid a hand on me, gave me practical advice and eased my mind with some concerns I had about pregnancy. I will admit, the exam was a bit uncomfortable, but when have you known a pap smear to be a walk in the park? He did the ultrasound himself and was patient until he found my baby. He spent a lot of time with me and his staff was friendly.*****************************************Please read. This is an update to the review. My son was born in June 2015. I promise you that I would not go to Dr. Lane if there was a hole in my head. My appointment times were not honored as he was always running late, I bought up some very valid medical concerns that he just chalked up to pregnancy that ended up doing me harm. He treats everyone like they have a run of the mill pregnancy and does not truly listen. He is super old school in his approach and it almost cost my son (he refused to break my water when I was overdue and my son was born in merconium [poop] his health. He showed up to the hospital AFTER my son was born so all that time with him and he did not even deliver my son. I promise, he seems great at first but he was not.

Normally your 1st visit is supposed to be pleasant. I wouldnt recommend at all.1. The receptionist was unprofessional and tried to insult my intelligence.2. They were very unorganized3. I felt that Dr. Lane was just trying to test me for everything he could think of to increase the tab.4. He couldnt even tell me the gestational age of my baby and wanted to do another ultrasound 2 weeks later. I think not!To make my point clear 3 things really put a bad taste in my mouth.1. He wanted to do this generic test to see if my baby had mental retardation (his exact words). How do you want to do that and could not tell me how old it it?2. Gave me a pap-smear after i said I didnt want one. When he had me up on the exam table checking me. He seize the opportunity.3. While getting blood drawn he rushes over and asked if I ever been tested for sickle cell anemia. Before I could say anything he tells the phlebotomist to draw blood for it and rushed off....What does that have to do with my pregnancy and if I did have it I would know that I had it.Bottom line I will not be going back....

Best Doctor to go too having a baby!! We had 2 with him and wouldnt switch! He makes sure you are comfortable and know everything. Cant say enough!

I loved this office, staff was always friendly and a great deal of help at times when I had to bring my other 2 kids along, even tho I believe kids are not allowed! I mainly saw Dr. Woo he was very informative and attentive during my pregnancy, I will be returning during this current pregnancy, great experience!

Most of the office staff and office manager are just horrible! I wonder how,any potential patients Dr. Lane could have if they didnt have to go through the nasty office staff. Tell you one thing on the phone and then tell you something totally different when you get to the appointment.

I have to say that you can not i mean must not go off of the reviews. Dr.Lane has delivered my last two babies and they are 100% healthy. I went threw all types of complications from car accidents to just small problems and he assured me and made sure I was taken care of as well as my baby. Go visit for yourself. He is very open, truthful and down to earth! He dont sugar coat and he speaks to you so you can understand dr terms. Very good guy!

The customer service is horrible!!! The front desk attendant is rude. The assistants act like snobs....(if u ask me I feel there racist against minorities) told my Fiancé she had an uncurable disease at 9 months pregnant without any test.. come to find out it was a shaving bump, just one pimple at that a friggningrown hair!!!We change doctors nonetheless and the other doctor ran tests and told her she was just fine. I dont trust him or his associates... out of the whole time we were there we got one BS ultrasound the old school one not even 3D..If youre looking a good OBGYN I would recommend Raleigh womens clinic

Bad experience. During an ultrasound, were just finding out that were having a boy. The nurse shows us the image that confirms were having a boy and then mentions that there is his hand nearby. She then begins to make jokes about boys being boys. That his hand is near his penis, ha ha. Implying that hes playing with himself inside of his mothers womb!Totally unprofessional. Not to mention that she practically ruined the experience. Ridiculous that anybody should have to have a nurse acting this way during one of the most amazing experiences of their lives.Doctor Lane was a bit rude as well in my opinion. Not a great experience. We made the most of it and tried to ignore these things, yet they are memories that will always be there. Memories wed rather forget.

Hes a good doctor! I also love the midwife in there she is super helpful.

I am HIGHLY disappointed in this office. I am 16 weeks pregnant and due for an appointment. I was called last Thursday at 4pm to cancel my Friday morning appointment due to a family emergency. It was rescheduled for Wednesday morning at 9am, so I called this morning to double-check and was informed that they would have to reschedule. The office knew YESTERDAY that Dr. Lane would not be in, and they did not have the decency to call their patients.I am in NO way angry about this family emergency and hate that he is having to go through a tough time. What is highly unprofessional is that the office staff is so terrible that they do not have the decency to call. I was even given attitude by the young lady when I asked why they had not called and explained that both my partner and myself have jobs and this was unacceptable.I cannot speak to the care that Dr. Lane offers, but just based on how his office acts, I refused to reschedule with them.

Had a good experience here, but don’t have an emergency c section anywhere other than the hospital he delivers at, or they will completely drop you as a patient. go figure.

Dr. Lane is a good dr, funny with a great sense of humor, however his receptionist is very unprofessional, shes not helpful, and makes mistakes all the time. So before you leave make sure she has given you the right date for your appointment.By the way they do not and will not call you if you miss an appointment, late, or ask you if you want to reschedule if you dont ask.

I was soo skeptical after reading the horrbile reviews online about this office. Not in regards to the doctor but the receptionist. Its very important to have someone whos professional and customer service focused to clients being that she is the face and first contact for Dr. John Lanes office, its dissapointing that he could have someone so unprofessional as the face of this business. Its the same as when you walk into a restaurant the host is the first contact if they are rude and unfriendly it almost ruins the entire experience. Anyways I thought I would give them a shot and see for myself considering im now preganant and seeking a great doctor with professionalism and same within his staff. As soon as I called this office I thought i had dialed the wrong # , the girl who picked up the phone sounded like a teenager with bad grammer and spoke so sloppy and unclear I could hardly understand her. Well there you go I immediately thought of all these horrible reviews about the receptionist, I thought yes this must be her. I wanted to get as much info about the office and doctor she was unhelpful had no knowledge of anything and just clearly unprofessional in everyway possible, I told her i was seeking a professional office and great doctor she responded and said maybe I should try the health dept. Instead. How rude. This office is a JOKE. Soo glad i didnt waste my time and make an appt and drive to this place. Your better off going to the health dept. At least the receptionist there know what they are doing and are humble friendly knowledgeable and professional.

Its been over 3 years since Dr. Lane delivered my 2nd daughter. We had looked specifically for an office that only one or two doctors so I would actually know who would be highly likely to deliver my child versus just a random doctor on call like so many practices these days. Both Dr. Lane and all his staff were very helpful and worked with me to get us through the delivery.

Dr. Lane delivered my oldest son back in 2008. I really liked the experience so much I tried to go back to him with my second, but my insurance wasnt accepted at the time. When I was pregnant with my third I went back to Dr. Lane and this time Dr. Woo. These guys were great. Unfortunately, I had a late miscarriage at nearly 19 weeks. My fetus had stopped growing at 12. I had a D&E after we found the baby had died and both doctors were excellent in helping me through that ordeal. Im sad to say I wont be able to go back for my 4th pregnancy because United Healthcare will no longer have them in my network, but Id recommend both these doctors to anyone!

Dont waste your time. The women working in the office are mad rude and cant explain anything to you about insurance. Looked at me and treated me like I was an idiot. Didnt even get past the waiting room, but glad I will never be dealing this those judgemental ladies again.

If i could put no stars I would !!!! This is horrible, staff is VERY rude , DISRESPECTFUL, don’t care about their patients...DR LANE Is very RUDE , this place needs NEW STAFF. And a new DOCTOR.

Please parents don’t let them circumcise your son! He did a terrible job on my sons and now we have to get it redone 😒when we could have gotten it done at the hospital!

Read these reviews and don’t understand how these lady’s went through any of this ,I had nothing but amazing experiences here ,Dr lane help me deliver two kids and nothing but amazing labor and made sure I was always healthy ,when I had health complications come up ,he made sure to solve them ,he funny ,and very caring to medical needs ,staff treated me well and always work with my schedule and insurance and all !

All I have to say Terrible experience,,Do not recommend!! ..
