The only reason I gave one star is because it wouldnt let me write a review with the zero star it deserves. They kept mixing my mom up with 2 other patients with the same last name. I would take things to her and it ended up in other patients rooms. Mom called her husband on several occasions asking him to please come help her get changed out of her wet clothes and bedding. He would call the front desk to ask to please go help her that she was soaked and was told she aint wet . I couldnt get her on the phone so I called front desk to ask to please go check on her and was told she is sitting on the side of her bed swinging her legs happy as could be Really?! Because she cant sit up without assistance and her leg is broken and is in a brace so how is that possible? On her second day there I was told to come get her codine because it was not allowed there . I drove over to get it and was told that it could stay now.Concerned, I called to speak with a supervisor about it and was told that she was in the room when her codine PILLS were counted out to make sure the were all accounted for. Shocker... mom had LIQUID codine! We got her out of Pruitt as fast as we could.

I brought two baskets with all kind of goodies, soap, lotion and mints, gum,Air refresher, and more. With a card with each person’s name on the card. One of the patients never received her baskets and they told me it wasDelivered. I know it wasn’t delivered because my friend wasn’t neverThere. The lady that took the basket should have check to see if thePatients were there. She very excited to get the baskets. I really thinkShe took the basket. I have called out there several times, I have spokenTo the social worker and dietician and more. Every time I called out thereThey would tell a different story about what to the baskets. This is stealing from the patients and that is wrong..

My father fell in April at home. He broke his neck and instantly became a quadriplegic. He was put in rehab at Pruitt to gain strength in his upper body to help me lift him when he came home. He was placed ined there that fell the second day he was there. He was in perfect health other than being paralyzed from the fall. He had no breakdown of the skin or any bad sores once he got there. He developed a bedsore that was not properly treated and it ended up covering his whole backside and was so deep if you put your arm back there it would go all the way down to his knees. The hospital said it was one of the worse case they had seen. My father Passed away August 13th after being there a short while he was admitted there June 18th . I beg them to take him to the hospital before it got that bad they wouldnt do it please dont put your love ones there if you care for them . My family is still waiting on answers and plan to seek justice for him.

My mother was admitted to Pruitt Health facilities for rehab on 10/29/20.My mother has been to rehab facilities twice before Pruitt Health and Ive never communicated with the Occupational/Physical therapist/ Social worker and nurse before like I have with the Pruitt staff. We had a conference call and they updated me on my moms progress and we discussed future plans for her health.I am happy with her progress and I do recommend this facility. I do understand that everyone have different experiences. Our experience was comforting.Thank you to the staffPenny

Stay Away. Avoid this place if it all possible. My brother died at PruittHealth in December of 2019. He suffered from neglect and abuse while he was a resident there.Joes heart stopped right after my wife and I went home from having thanksgiving dinner with him. He had a pneumonia and EMS reported that when they arrived the staff was joking with one another while my brother was suffocating on his own mucus.Joe was a Traumatic Brain Injury patient and had very limited use of only one arm. The previous weekend before he died the nurses aide that was assigned to him came to his room at the beginning of the shift when he rang the call bell as he was in distress from being sick and proceeded to yell at him, flail her arms around, took the call bell away and placed it away from the bed where he could not reach it. Nobody came back to the room until the end of the shift (He was left from 11:49 PM until 6:00 AM the next morning). I have the hidden camera video to prove it along with his room being ransacked by another aide right in front of him a couple of nights earlier. Watch out for the night shift here as they take full advantage of the lack of supervision. In light of the other recent reviews, I felt the need to post this up. If you have a loved one that is here you need to get them out of there asap as most likely something very bad will happen to them . There were numerous other problems too many to list here.It will always pain me to know instead of being surrounded by people that cared for him when he passed and I wasnt there for him when he needed me the most, he had a bunch of cold hearted people that were laughing at him as he took his last breaths. Please do not leave your family members alone with these awful people.I tried to get him to another facility but nobody would take him due to he was a Medicare patient that required too much care. The state was called and every time we complained they would come back with the standard no deficiencies letter, dont rely on them to help you or the NC Patient rights advocate(Ombudsman).I have sent a letter to Governor Cooper begging for him to help the residents that remain there.

My grandmother was there for a short period of time and we had to remove her because of the neglect and lack of concern. The food was horrible and they are very disrespectful to the patients. It is our responsibility to take care of our elderly and less fortunate. I am extremely sad and disappointed in this facility. I hope that someone takes these reviews to heart and rectifies these issues or simply close the doors. You all are doing the community a disservice!!

My great grandmother is in one of your facilities in Raleigh, NC. This facility is terrible, they feed the residents food that no one would willing eat. It’s like slop. They are constantly moving and no communication with the residents’ families about what’s going on. My great grandmother has been incessantly crying, and frustrated about the treatment there. Ive tried calling the 800 number only to be hung up on. I will be reporting Pruitt to BBB. The treatment is beyond repulsive.

Worst place to leave a love one! My brother was sent here from the hospital on a Friday afternoon for rehab. Thank GOD he was very alert or he would have died before he was moved to another Pruitt Heath facility on the Monday (not a good facility either). He had to call the outside phone line around 3:00 AM on Saturday morning to get someone to empty his urinal after numerous times using the call button. The lady that finally came in had a bad attitude ( he thinks he woke her up). Then on Sunday around 6:00 PM he had to call the outside line again to tell them that his oxygen was out. Would not Recommend any Pruitt Heath facility to anyone!

We have decided to file to get some help from the state and we are moving family member to another nursing home. Dont go near this place.

My grandma (in her 80s) says this place is great - the nurses are very sweet, the food is fabulous, and shes seemed in good spirits for her whole stay (multiple weeks after her fall). The doors to the rooms are very solid and I thought they muffled sound pretty well from the bustling hallways; my grandma says its pretty quiet at night, but shes hard of hearing too.My parents have been coordinating w the staff so I cant comment directly on that front, but they have nothing but positive comments so far. My father was in this facility and let me tell you what. Do NOT send your family there if you love them, at least not while the current admin and nurses are there! He would lay in a mess on his bed, gaining bed sores, for hours. My sister would go to visit him and ask for help to change him, and would be told no they had to give a shower first. An hour and half later, my sister was changing him herself because no one came! When we would reach out to the admin he would lie to our faces about things. The nurses would be seen playing on their phones and ignoring the patients, which resulted in a death of a patient. The admin will punish the nurses by cutting their hours and taking their pay if you compliment the ones that DO do their job. Please folks. As a a former healthcare worker, I know this is not a place that is filled with compassion for your loved ones. If you want them to be properly taken care of do NOT send them to this facility unless they get a new admin!

Beautiful facility, however the staff is the worst! My loved one was there for two weeks, and did not receive the services she was there to get(physical therapy). She ended up back in the emergency room, due to staff overly medicating her! The average response to an individual pushing the call bell for assistance is over SIX MINUTES! A lot can happen in six minutes! Staff was not aware of how to use the equipment that she had(Wound Vac). A machine that was connected to her so her wound could heal. It was off on a daily basis, when it should be operating at ALL times! I did a lot of the work myself that STAFF should have been doing! I had her up and walking, assisting her to the restroom, bathing her, etc. Staff was observed laughing at other patients who needed assistance. I can go on and on about several issues that occurred. To keep it short, if you love your loved ones DO NOT sent them to UniHealth Post-Acute Care!

So sad I have to give this place one star. The care my dad got was the worst. Sad to say the VA had to pay for someone to come in and feed him. I went to see him and had to a=change his diapers and clean him up. The last time I went to see him he had had a stoke and was laying in the bed had not ate a bite in two days. Could not speak. I called 911 and the EMTs came to get him. The nurse told the EMT she was told not to give them any paper work. I must say after talking to a lawyer that is against the law. You have to turn over the DNR and allergies to the EMT. He was admitted in the hospital. and they are filing their own paper work the Admin might need to look for another job as well as the nurse who would not turn over paper work to the EMT. He was always laying in a soiled diaper and his bed was always soaked when we went. They feed him nasty food and much of nothing on the plate. Please run dont walk and get your family out of this place call the state until they do something about the treatment of these elderly folks.

PATHETIC! Nice and beautiful inside but the double rooms are WAY TOO SMALL you can barely walk around a bed without interfering with the other patients space; bathroom should be in the middle of the 2 beds, not where one patient has to walk clear across the room and past the others area, etc ..... The AIDS are ridiculously RUDE, IMPATIENT, UNCARING, yakking and laughing too loud in the hallways - and they pretend not to see you in the hallway and will very rarely make eye contact unless you speak first. Takes FOREVER to get service and jerked my dad around when helping him after having HIP surgery, which they should have KNOWN and not have to be told a dozen times to be careful. FOOD was absolutely the WORST ever. REHAB did NOT prepare him enough to be released but he was happy to be out of there. ONE SPECIFIC INCIDENT REALLY ANGERED ME - the man across the hall was clearly in pain and we could hear him in the hallway, complaining he could not breathe good or catch his breath and was hurting in his chest and kept calling for someone to help him. 2 nurse aids walked by turning their heads towards the room so they saw and heard him but kept walking.... the RN that was giving meds that night was in the next room so I walked in and told her he needed some attention and she rolled her eyes and said shed take care of it.... took her time, etc. ---- so after about 15 minutes of several people in and out of his room the EMS arrived and took him to the ER for chest pains - I really feel had I not intervened, he would have been totally ignored and could have possibly died of heart failure or some other serious condition. The aids say they are going to do something and never do. One girl said shed be back to help dad do something and 20 minutes later I see her leaving the facility with her back pack on. --- I was there as much as I could be to take care of dad myself so he would not have to deal with them. My dad is also a DIALYSIS patient in which they had to transport him every Mon/Wed/Fri mornings to be there by 7:15am, he was late several times .... he was supposed to have breakfast before leaving and several times he was given a PBJ sandwich to eat on the van when he was supposed to have a regular meal (bacon, eggs, etc) before leaving - we were told that even though the kitchen is not open that early, he would still get his regular meal and when he did, it was made the night before then put in the microwave the next morning, but at least he had the meal. There are SO MANY MORE NEGATIVE REASONS AND COMMENTS I could make but this would be a book ---- in closing - DO NOT TAKE YOUR LOVED ONES TO THIS FACILITY - THEY WILL BE IGNORED, LIED TO, DISRESPECTED, HANDLED UNKINDLY and IMPATIENTLY, etc. Youve been warned.

Where do I begin. I was never suppose to go there from Duke after a major back operation, but ended up there for what was suppose to be one night but ended up never getting moved. The first night the PA tried to remove my 40 stitches, 4 weeks early!!! Luckily I was not on major pain meds to be able to comprehend what he wanted to do. I made him read my discharge papers then informed to never enter my room again. The food is inedible. Luckily my so is a chef. So my clothes were stolen, 3 pairs of slacks two shirts. Several items were taken that my son brought. Ive retained some attorneys so I can not get into more details until after the trial. DO NOT LET YOUR LIVE ONE GO THERE!!!!!

This facility is great. It has an upscale look and appears to have been designed with care. Large, there are probably 200 rooms on a single floor. Most room with double occupancy. A cafeteria and Several dining rooms as well as multi purpose space, there are areas for residents to explore. Residents can also venture outside. Covered entranceway allows good vehicle pickup and plenty of parking in a lot. There is filtered water infused with fruit or vegetables for visitors and residents. A large entrance room is typically staffed by a receptionist that also covers the phones. Can be busy at times and require some waiting. Coffee is available as well as snacks. Hot chocolate was also at the front when I visited. Staff was plentiful and helpful. Stain glass was visible for what might have been a worship area. Building appears to be well maintained with no noticeable defects. Area of town is off of Lake Wheeler Road near to downtown and University area. Cant say I want to be a permanent resident, but overall experience appears to be satisfactory for what it is. I would be comfortable placing a loved one that needed a higher level of care that was possible in a single family residence.

My mom went there in November from Wake Med Cary. There was no communication from the Social Worker that was not working the day of my moms transfer at Pruitt to the other, so she got there, and they were not expecting her. There was no room waiting, she had to wait forever for medications in bad pain, and it took over an hour for her to be changed. Her nose felt dry but staff was too lazy to check water bottle on Oxygen concentrator until she begged enough two days later, and guess what? It was not hooked up. While I was visiting her, and leaving, I saw a man next room over completely naked sleeping in a wheel-chair with his door open. Staff did not come suited up even though she was in isolation with C.diff so who knows who they passed it on too. Those poor residents! They yelled at her twice for pushing button when waiting forever to be changed, or how about medications going seven hours over from the time she was to get them! She left against medical advice which is a joke, my dad and her CNA from home got her because she knew she would die if she stayed there with the horrible care she got. I have no idea why people become CNAs who dont like that kind of work and could care less about the patients.

My father in law was treated at this facility in August 2016. The facility is relatively new and updated and played a role in the decision to use them. However, the care and the processes to support this center are woefully inadequate. My father-in-law was over medicated with pain killers to the point that he was unresponsive. He needed hospitalization to clean this situation up. The facility staff did not notice that he was extremely lethargic. The centers day-to-day medical management is left to a PA which is not unusual. The PA would seek MD input as needed. The PAs at this facility were reluctant to call the MD and instead used a wait and see approach. Issues were brought to their attention and were documented but went no further for resolution. For my loved one this could have been fatal. The family had to ask for a plan of care discussion after over a week went by. The therapist in attendance at the meeting were not familiar with the patients care and needed to follow up with other in response to basic status questions on progress. We ended up moving him to another facility. I would not recommend this center for folks who require medical care and rehabilitation beyond very simplistic needs.
