I agree with the other commentors here... this company will randomly change what they cover and what they do not. Last year they would cover labs at my primary provider. However, this year they didnt. Nor did they tell the provider or the patients about this change! Now I have to schedule two separate appointments at two separate facilities with two separate companies to get one annual physical completed. If you like to waste time and money, United Healthcare is the place.

This company is very unprofessional! I waited to get an interview for months for them to turn me down! Im fine with that but it shouldnt take 3 months to string potential hires along to let them down! Will never apply to this company again!

Most awful Plan, you do not get to schedule an appointment with a PCP, even for a screening. Awful, including their customer services. nd their prices skyrocket each year, with less benefits.

Will randomly change coverage on you for simple things and all of a sudden you have to fork out $500 for labs

Worst company ever. They couldnt even answer a simple question about my dental plan. I got transferred 5 times and no one can answer a simple question about coverage. I would give them a 0! But this format does not allow it.

Just got a $351 bill for a urinalysis for a UTI that I had. UHC refused to pay a dime??? Why? Ive had dozens of UTIs before and have never been charged such an astronomical amount before. This is the worst insurance company ever. What a joke. If I could give zero stars I would. You should be ashamed of your greed at the expense of peoples health.

United Health Care is the worst health care provider I have ever dealt with. They preach preventative care but refuse to pay for any. My wife had polyps from her first colonoscopy and the doctor recommends that she have another in three years due to the number found. United will not pay for the next colonoscopy because they say it is a diagnosis procedure since they found polyps on the first procedure. If they never found polyps then it would be covered. This is the dumbest logic I have ever heard. Knowing you have had a issue in the past would lead me to believe they would want you to have another procedure as requested from her doctor to ensure you do not have colon cancer. I could see that they would not pay for another one in three years if you had found nothing on the first one.I would give them zero stars if possible.

Canceled my policy due to pregnancy and had to use Medicaid and it didnt get canceled. They kept billing me and said it was canceled due to non payment. No one can go back to see when I called to cancel. The worst. I would give them no stars if i could.

Thanks for not covering anything. Even when I called ahead to make sure something was covered, I often get surprise bills. Counting down the days till I can switch

Let me start out by saying I know we dont have many choices but here is what youll get with UHC. Your premiums will increase 25%+ per year (best case) and they will cover less and less. Im a Type 1 Diabetic and found out the hard way that they will change your Rx coverage in the middle of the year. Hard to believe but true. They were covering Lantus insulin (I need insulin to live) up to a certain point then you go into the pharmacy and they tell you its no longer covered. You can pay $400+ for a bottle of insulin but thats what your insurance company says (even though you pay your premiums monthly)...the pharmacist said maybe they changed your formulary. Really change it in the middle of the year without notification. Even worse is getting a response from them as why. Prior to using Lantus my A1C was high around 9. After using it my A1C was 6.6. A very good improvement. But when it comes to money and UHC it makes more sense to have a 9 A1C vs. a 6.6. I doubt any doctor would agree. But now UHC who says that they want to provide the best coverage possible says they will non longer cover it. Watch out if you have them as a healthcare provider and you rely on monthly prescriptions to live. They have no problem changing your coverage or not covering medications that they did.

I could go on for hours about the problems I have had with United Healthcare. I cant say avoid this company because many times your employer chooses your insurance company for you. If you have UHC like I do, all I can say is that Im sorry, I feel your pain, and good luck to you in finding a doctor of ANY KIND that accepts UHC. Multiple physicians and other stakeholders such as HSA companies have testified to me that they refuse to work with UHC. My health and the health of my child has suffered because we cannot see quality physicians because they are out of network. Dont even get me started on bill pay and locating doctors through their website. When I search on their portal for in-network doctors and then call them I am told they DO NOT accept UHC or that the practice has been closed for several years or that they are not accepting new patients (when UHCs site claims they are accepting new patients). I have more stories and examples of how corrupt and inept this company is but like I said, since many people cant choose their own health insurance agency, good luck and try to avoid employment at companies that select this discounted, D-rated company as a benefit provider.
