This place straight up changed my life. I have never been more consistent with working out and I haven’t missed a single workout since I started (it’s been three and a half months now I believe).My trainer Eli has made a workout plan for me that fits exactly what I need. He’s worked with me to improve the weaker parts of my body and I feel like a warrior now. He switches it up just enough that it never gets boring and he knows when to keep you accountable and when to loosen up. In just three months I’m seeing huge physical and emotional changes and I can’t thank him enough.So basically they’ll work with you to give you a personalized workout plan and they’ll also touch on some guidelines to follow in order to maximize your results but everything is straightforward and easy to understand. No gimmicks. No weird workouts. No weird diets. Just show up consistently, work hard and listen to your trainer and you WILL get results.Thanks again to Eli and the Capital Strength team!

What I enjoy most about the experience is the trainers don’t make you feel like another customer or number. You feel appreciated, important, and respected. Each person’s goals and needs are treated individually and different and that’s what makes it unique and amazing. Thanks to Eli Hines, I’ve made amazing gains in my strength and overall fitness level. I leave every session feeling like fire. Eli has a sincere enthusiasm for fitness; his knowledge of body mechanics and proper lifting technique set him FAR ABOVE other trainers. I knew I’d made the right choice the first time I worked with him. He really listens to what you want and creates a personalized plan to make sure you’re getting there. Also a great group trainer as well - sessions are fun and creative. If you’re on the fence about training, go to Eli, I’m so glad I did.

My Trainer Alexis is amazing. She is thorough, communicates well, and is adamant about maintaining my safety throughout our workouts. I have an injury and she has been very flexible in making a routine that does not worsen my injury. Shes kind, and genuine. She knows a lot about fitness and is eager to give her insight and share her knowledge. Shes a friend, a trainer and a role model for fitness. I would recommend her to anyone.

I have nothing but good things to say about training with Carey. I came to see Capital Strength after a year plus of pandemic induced inaction. I was probably in the worst shape I’ve been when I started. Carey is patient and pays attention to when you are hitting your limit. Over a couple months I can tell I feel better. I also feel like my movements in everyday life are just easier.

I started private training with Eli at Capital Strength back in May, and I honestly couldnt be more satisfied with the service and results Ive experienced with him and with Capital as a whole. They worked with me to assess my goals and develop a training routine that meets my needs. With Elis training and support, Ive safely achieved performance levels in every exercise that I never thought were possible, and Im still improving. Aside from the insane results, Capital excels in customer service, attention to detail, and professionalism. I’ve been training with Alexis at Capital for the past month and it’s been great!! As a former athlete who had fallen out of shape, I had been quite nervous to get back in a gym, but Alexis has helped me every step of way. She pushes me to work hard and will even do exercises with me when possible. I highly recommend training with her because she really listens to her clients!!

Since I had mixed experiences at a variety of gyms that helped me avoid going to the gym regularly, I only half listened to Peter describe their training philosophy during my introduction meeting expecting it to be similar to the sales pitches I had heard so many times at gyms in the past. However, by the time we started talking about my hopes and goals, I started to see that this time was actually different. I had his full attention when I said, “I want my body to be strong, and I want to feel strong.” In a voice that was absolutely certain, he answered, “We can do that here, and it will take time and consistency.” I believed him and started with three group sessions a week. First, I was carefully taught how to perform the major lifts and how to feel the proper body alignment in my body (thank you Donny and Carey) and never once felt silly lifting a 45 lb. bar without additional weight. At the same time, their intentional programming started building my physical strength more than I realized. Next, I worked at staying as consistent as I could and utilizing their resources about the importance of protein, rest, etc. And now, just the other day, I lifted a 140 lbs. on my bench press. Without a doubt, that is due to receiving the best training and conditioning that I have ever received. But most important to me, by the end of each week, they have shown me that my body can be stronger than I ever thought it could be, and I am stronger than I thought I could be.

Working with Carey has been a great experience for my wife and I. She designed a workout plan to help us reach our fitness goals while making necessary exceptions for past injuries and teaching us better form overall.Our strength and overall health has improved dramatically since we began training with Carey. If we ever have any issues during a session she’s able to isolate and alleviate any pain using therapeutic exercises and techniques.Most importantly she laughs at all of our jokes even if they’re only moderately funny. We highly recommend her to anyone!

Im returning to training after an extended absence and I have significant medical problems. I have attempted several returns in the past with poor outcomes, and the last being dangerous to my physical safety. I can’t say enough good things about Capital Strength and Conditioning. I’ve been training here for several years now and consistently found the team to be excellent. Many people my age (69) have retired from training and without the consistent encouragement I get at Capital, I might have gone down that same path. I’ve been coached by Matt and Peter, both of whom are positive and knowledgeable.Even when I come in for a session with various aches and pains, they are able to work with those limitations and actually help me with rehab.This past week, I hit PRs in bench, squat, and deadlift (315) working with Peter. They have an expert team of trainers to guide you through your fitness goals.I am in a safe, clean environment with professionals that are highly trained on a diet and weight training. I was hesitant to get started strength training again after being out of sports for almost 10 years, but everyone at Capital Strength was so inviting and welcoming it made my transition so much easier. Everyone is so friendly, knowledgeable and always pushing you to do your best. I broke my ankle some time ago which holds me back from some movements but because they are so experienced in this sport, they are able to help me modify my movements to get me to where I need to be.It’s been a great return back to the fitness world thanks to Capital Strength & Conditioning!

Extremely well thought out training plan for the beginner or experienced weight lifter. Whatever your goals are, these trainers are top notch, experienced and knowledgeable about nutrition, proper form, and muscle building. Carey was fantastic. I’d gone years with chronic knee and ankle pain. Surgery didn’t help and the $400/hr physical therapists didn’t help. Carey helped me work on the imbalances I had and gave me the confidence to start working out again. In just a few months of working with her, my weekly injuries and tweaks completely went away. As a busy professional I was searching for a gym that would provide programming/training guidance as well as easy access. Capital Strength delivers in spades. The daily workouts written on the board, the flexibility and knowledge of the staff, and the fact that I can walk in and get right to work without waiting for equipment all contribute to an excellent experience. The coaches were welcoming and made me feel very comfortable during my workout session. The facility was noticeably clean and well kept. The selection of equipment provides for any workout needs. I am so happy that I found this place! Matt, Peter, Carey, Andrew, & Aaron are all phenomenal to work with. Everyone is incredibly knowledgeable and above all caring. I’ve learned so much in a short period of time about training that I never knew! Look, I’ve been to all the major gyms and worked with many of their trainers and I always felt like there was something missing. Whatever it was, I found that here at Capital. This place also has a great community. Everyone I’ve encountered is friendly and encouraging. I so enjoy this gym! It feels like home, like my own personal gym. The instructors are so attentive and so knowledgable. They give feedback in a gentle way and are very supportive of your goals - no matter what they are. I often feel like they give as much attention as one wants. They are great at meeting people where they are, too. The gym is always watching, and not in a judgmental way, but in a way where they want to help you get the most out of everything you do.They are not just a gym. They offer really well-done free seminars to further your fitness journey and they offer a lot of personal care in different ways. They have helped me through an injury and rehab, body composition, nutrition, programming and more. Their programing is exceptional as are their adaptations and modifications for those who need it. The programming helps me enjoy ownership of my own workouts, instead of someone just telling me what to do and yelling at me to finish.If you are new to lifting, dont be put off by all the free weights and bar bells. Even though I am a somewhat veteran lifter I have been so impressed by how welcoming and kind they are to people who havent ever stepped foot in a gym. It’s a beautiful beginning! This entire team has welcomed my excitement with enthusiasm! My initial nervousness at the sight of all the weights, bars, chains, whiteboards, & muscles dissipated after the 1st couple of sessions. They are a professional, cohesive team & it shows in the way they are ALL helping me keep my pace gradual & encouraging me to push past my limits, no matter who I train with that day. They’re so supportive of the beginners, it’s beyond fantastic! I’ve wanted this type of training for a long time. Lifting weights dramatically improves my energy levels, mood, & sleep cycles. Not to mention, appearance!🤩😉 But, my lifting routines had become stagnant at around 50-75 lbs. & I wanted to up the ante. So here we are! This place is a gem. Here you wont find any gimmicks but only effective, efficient training tailored to your goals. In just an hour and half of training Matt corrected my form on the full-body lifts, helped me hit personal bests on the squat, deadlift, and overhead press, showed me how to safely challenge myself, and instilled confidence in my ability to continue progressing. He took the time to answer all my questions and to make sure I understood how to tweak my programming for my goals.. If Im ever in Raleigh again Ill be back!

This place is THE BEST!! You walk in the door and immediately feel like you belong there. Everyone is always willing to help or give you the encouragement you need. But, shout out to Aaron who has completely transformed my life by helping me train and being so so patient and kind every time! I walked in here a few months ago, not being able to lift anything (it was real bad - if there’s a level before “beginner”, that was me) to now being able to do all the lifts with actual weights and seeing the amount go up each week! I’ve been training at Capital Strength and Conditioning for about 2 months now, since I relocated to Raleigh several months ago. I wanted to find a gym that specialized in personal training and individual coaching, while also offering small group training. I knew from the past that the large commercial gyms and traditional workout programs would not offer the kind of atmosphere I wanted, and other group fitness options didnt prioritize proper form or programming.Working out should be fun, challenging, and safe, which is exactly what you’ll find here. From day one, Matt and the coaches at Capital Strength have provided a training program based on flexibility, agility, strength, speed, coordination, and metabolic conditioning. The coaching expertise at Capital Strength promotes a varied workout program that is motivating, helps build strength and is results oriented.When I first met Matt, we talked at length about my fitness goals, current diet, and previous training style. Matt was genuinely interested in getting to know my background and helped me identify the proper workout schedule for me. We set a few individual goals and each week, Matt and I have spoken about my progress with these benchmarks. His philosophy of strength, mobility, rest and nutrition helped me quickly see the results we discussed during my initial consultation.So far, I am very satisfied with my training, results, and experience. I have been a member for three weeks now and have already noticed muscle gain while losing body fat at the same time. I am more than pleased with the results. They have an awesome staff and they are highly motivated which makes training such more fun there. They have corrected my technique and form which needed much work before I arrived. My Personal Trainer Aaron has been first class all the way the around and is very knowledgeable. The other trainers I have worked with there in the strength training classes have been top notch too. All incredible people. If you are looking for a new level of working out I would HIGHLY recommend giving this place a go no matter where you are in training and your level of experience.

I am not much of a review writer, but this place has certainly compelled me to do so. I signed up with my trainer, Danny, close to two months ago and I can genuinely say it was one of the better decisions of my life. From the onset of the first consultation, to experiencing the level of care and detail they show clients, to the upscale equipment, to the detailed programs for each client, I could not be happier. This gym builds an atmosphere of dedication and understanding that is tailored to your goals. Everyone I have met here authentically wants to train you up to reach your desired results. In only two months I have noticed significant progress as Danny has taken a very thoughtful approach to my strength training. This place is a nice respite from the daily grind and truly is a place I look forward to going to. I could not recommend Capital any higher, it truly is life changing. Keep up the good work guys!

I can’t say enough good things about this place, but here are a few things I like. (1) I’ve been working with Aaron, and he has been great to work with. He’s really taken time to help me with mobility work and strengthening dormant muscles from years of neglect. He’s also given me a lot of different cues to help me learn proper form on the major compound exercises. (2) While I’ve primarily worked with Aaron, everyone that works there seems very nice and eager to help. Both the manager (Danny) and owner (Matt) always take time to speak to me or give me tips whenever I see them, even if they are busy working on something else. (3) There a lot of resources that are available on their website and emailed to members. For example, they recently sent out an email about self-talk that I thought was very helpful. They also run free clinics that are available even to non-members. In short, I think the owner and staff really provide a great service to their customers.

I am a long time runner and cyclist. I have avoided gyms - but got a starter pack for a birthday present 3 months ago. The trainers are amazing and work directly with me (with encouragement and motivation). Dylan has been an awesome personal trainer and helps a ton with form and posture. He has given me the confidence to go the gym on a regular basis. I have had great semi private sessions with Garrett and Lauren. They are extremely helpful and it feels like a 1:1 session. He was helpful at working through some old movement patterns that cause nagging injuries. The MetCon sessions are different every time and always a challenge. The strength training sessions are well coached. This has been one of the best experiences I have ever had with a gym. I am motivated each morning to get up very early to go and workout because I know the trainers are going to make me sweat and get my moneys worth. They have a workout planned for you each day you go in and I love that. I got so tired of going to the gym and not knowing what to do. So happy that I found this place.

Capital Strength is by far the best gym I have ever been to. It is a very different experience but will make you feel like you are truly working out. The mesh between cardio and weight training is amazing and I love the team atmosphere. The coaches are great and really push you to perform at your best. Lastly, I love the communication between the coaches and the members. Every week they send an in-depth email about what to expect that week and any new tips and words of encouragement. If you are looking to push yourself to new fitness heights, Capital is the place!

As an avid at-home exerciser I was a bit apprehensive about signing up for a strength training gym. The last time I took a weight lifting class was in college, and it felt intimidating to try to get back into it. I decided to give it a go and signed up for a free consultation. When I left I knew I had to give this place a try. Im so glad I did.Why you should come here:1. The trainers are awesome. They get to know you, they find out your limits, and they help you push past them.2. The environment. Theres a community feel here that makes this place really special. Since people love coming here, you see the same faces over and over again, and you start to bond with folks. I had a really good idea of who Id see at the gym at 6:15 am on a Monday or 6:30 am on a Wednesday.3. The guesswork is gone. I didnt have to figure out what to do. Having access to nice gym equipment is great, but its frustrating if I have to figure out what to do with that equipment. When I got to the gym the workouts were already written up on the white boards. I just had to do them. If I didnt know what a move was the trainers were there and corrected my form as needed. They also have metabolic conditioning classes, which are great so you can simultaneously work on strength and speed.If everyone could experience a gym like this Im confident that more people would regularly exercise. If youre in the triangle definitely check them out.Side note: Any gym that youre willing to wake up at 5:15 in the morning to go to, and drive for 30 minutes to get there is a winner. Im bummed that I couldnt take them with me.

My personal trainer, Andrew, is knowledgeable, professional, and caters to my fitness goals in a way that makes me motivated to push myself. It makes a world of difference when your trainer is patient and flexible with what you want to accomplish. Im 34 years old and joining Capital Strength and Conditioning has genuinely changed my life. Its hard to overstate the benefits Ive derived from working with the owner, Matt, and the great staff there. Since I joined a couple months ago, Ive had the chance to work with each coach - Nick, Lauren, Dylan, Garrett, Elizabeth and Danny - and they are all incredibly knowledgeable and dedicated to helping me accomplish my goals. Everyone takes a genuine interest in how you are doing, personally and relative to your goals. No one sits around. There are no egos. Everyone has a common purpose, and its palpable with the members there. There are no gimmicks. To see results, it takes hard work, plain and simple. But with the Capital team behind you, you will understand exactly what you need to do to accomplish what you want. About 2.5 months after joining, Ive dropped from ~200 lbs to around 185 while becoming significantly stronger. Ive gone from a guy who eats pizza at least once a week, to someone my friends turn to for advice on healthy eating habits. Sure, that has taken some level of personal commitment, but the Capital staff taught me everything I know and has been there to help every step of the way. If you are serious about getting healthier, and in better shape, schedule a consultation. Thats what I did, and Im in better shape than Ive ever been. I dont want to knock any other gyms or workout programs. Everyone has their own preferences, but to me, you would be doing yourself a disservice if you didnt consider what Capital Strength and Conditioning has to offer.

Great gym. I have worked with Lauren, Garrett, Eric and Dylan. All the coaches are really knowledgeable and make you feel comfortable. They are always there to guide you personally, even during group workout sessions. Finally found a gym where I am excited to go and workout everyday!!

Since moving to Raleigh, I was looking for a gym with a more authentic feel than a corporate chain gym. I tried Crossfit, but it wasnt for me. I wanted to focus on strength training whilst staying injury-free. Capital S&C fit the bill just right.I am coached by Carey and Eric, and my form and strength have been improving and increasing every week! They are very knowledgeable and encouraging, and most importantly take the time and care to listen and understand my specific needs and frustrations. I am learning so much from them, and from a new approach to training. Cant wait to see my progress over the next few months.

Honestly this gym has been a overall great experience! Ive taken classes taught by multiple trainers and I can truthfully say that all were AMAZING!! One trainer that stood out to me the most was Danny Steele. He has been great, especially with pushing me to keep working hard and to not give up. I recommend this gym to anyone who wants to be surrounded by others that are all working to better themselves. You will not be disappointed.

This gym is not a joke. The hour block of training will get you what you need and more. The staff is there to push you and help you reach your goals whether it be getting stronger, faster, bigger, or smaller. Theyre extremely knowledgeable on all things fitness and are available to talk whenever you have questions. The facility is clean and well kempt which is a big plus.

A couple of things to get started. One - this is not a place you join to just join a gym. People who come here want to work out. 2. This place is amazing about asking for what you need and then helping you get there. What is the reason you want to work out. It doesnt matter what it is, this place is the answer. Small classes, individual attention, great atmosphere, smart and proficient trainers. Ohh, and they will kick you butt when you tell them too. I have only been a member for a short time, but this place is great. I started working with Danny Steele. Everyone there is great, but he really goes the extra mile. His workouts a little tougher, his results - a little better. If you want a physical transformation and training to help you get there - this is the place for you.

The trainers are all super knowledgeable and whether you need basic conditioning/strength coaching, or a much more in depth, advanced program, the Cap strength team does a fantastic job. I found Capital online and liked the concept of a small, personalized gym. My wife and I have been training at Capital Strength & Conditioning for well over a year, and we love it. The coaches are super helpful, and the gym is small enough that they can get to know you personally - to guide you through your individual challenges. We do a combination of strength training classes, metcons, and personal training sessions with coach Garrett, which provide short, impactful workouts that have really made a difference for us. Joining Capital Strength has been an amazing experience so far! I am so happy to be doing personal training with Coach Danny Steele and my friend Caroline. It truly feels like a family and I have seen some great results. Each week I am getting stronger in my weight training and increasing my weight each week. I can now even do a 3 minute plank! This gym was exactly what I was looking for, and I am so glad I joined! It’s small, so it feels more personal, yet there’s still plenty of space to work out. It’s not crammed full of machines, so there is plenty of space for free weight, mobility and circuit style exercises. I started out doing personal training with Danny (who was awesome) but then I transitioned to the strength training classes which was the perfect fit for my budget and schedule. Lauren who leads the group strength straining classes is so helpful and does a great job checking in with everyone, not only while they’re doing their big lifts but also the small accessory exercises as well. She also keeps us on track and helps adjust the program as needed. I always feel like she knows my personal progression through some of the more challenging lifts and encourages me as I improve. Check this place out! I also highly recommend the strength training classes as well as the personal training.

I’ve been working with Antuan for the last 3 weeks and can already tell a difference in my strength and metabolism. He’s extremely knowledgeable and is able to make modifications for whatever I need. He keeps the workouts fun and engaging and continues perfecting my form to prevent injuries and so I can get the most out of each exercise. I’ve also done a few MetCon group classes which I would recommend as well to help take your training to the next level. The atmosphere is great and I would recommend Capital Strength to anyone looking for an experienced staff to help reach your goals! This place is far exceeds any corporate gym I’ve ever been to. It’s a no brainer!

Highly recommend this gym! The group classes are not big classes where you are left to fend for yourself. You have a small group with ample time to work with the trainer and make your workout more personalized. The workouts are different every week which will also keep you engaged. I’ve mostly worked with Nick and he has been able to help me work through an injury without having to give up going to the gym during that time. He was able to give me different exercises than what was planned for the day so I was able to still participate and be included. He gives great encouragement and helps you make great progress, while also keeping you safe during your lifts!

Capital Strength & Conditioning has turned out to be a great addition to my weekly routine. Ive been a client a little under 4 months, doing personal training with the owner, Matt, twice per week. When I started, I had two goals. First, I wanted to get a lot stronger. I had been working out on my own, but wasnt making the forward progress I had hoped to. Second, I wanted to continue the weight loss I started two years ago.Four months in and Im down to 218 from 235, but perhaps more impressively, my overall strength has gone through the roof. I started squatting at 145lbs, and hit a personal best of 315lbs last week. My bench has gone from a weak 125lbs to strong 175lb sets. I look and feel better than I have in a very long time.Scheduling has also been very easy. Matt has a team of personal trainers that can all handle your workout, so if you want to mix up the routine, or scheduling is an issue, theres generally a way to work it out.Overall, I think if you are interested in really committing yourself to getting in shape, your time and money will be well spent here.

I was extremely intimidated by gyms in general and was nervous about even going in for my consultation. Within 5 minutes of being there I realized that this place was different. My coach (Peter) and the rest of the staff made me feel extremely welcome even when I was super out of my element. This is my love letter to Capital Strength and Conditioning, a gym unlike any other! Capital is compact and organized, and bright. And the coaches - they are really the magic of Capital! They are experts, not just people who work out all the time. They are extremely knowledgeable about exercise physiology and nutrition. Their focus is on sustainable improvements, making small changes that you can stick with. It works!!!! When I first came to the gym in Dec. 2016 I was out of shape and starting to have issues related to running. Danny immediately focused on what I could do, rather than what I couldnt (full push-ups, for example!) so from day 1 I felt motivated. Within a few weeks, I saw and felt progress real progress!!But the most important factor for any training program is consistency -youve got to show up, and its hard to stick to a schedule. The coaches at Capital (Danny! Cameron! Ethan! Lauren! Germaine! and of course Matt) make you want to be there. Just show up and they will get you through the rest.I know this is long but Ive got to mention the workouts themselves. There is a plan for each day, and the workouts are complementary and varied. Every day and week is slightly different. Matt sends an email each week with the overall plan, and that really helps keep me motivated.Finally, I have to say the atmosphere of this gym is awesome. You will see all shapes, sizes, ages, and levels of fitness. There is no pressure to look or dress a certain way. We all encourage each other.
