On Friday an existing crown in my mouth cracked. We are heading to Arizona in a few days, so my beloved guided me through my own dentists process for emergency dental work. I ended up calling Dr. Orander, who was on call, on Friday after 10 p.m. He called me back in less than 10 minutes and sounded wide awake, incredibly friendly and undisturbed by the late call.Dr. Orander said that he would see me on Saturday, but because he did not have any staff, it would have to wait until Monday - but he would definitely be able to see me on Monday (at 7 a.m. or 9 a.m.). He said he would call back the next day confirming the time; that if I did not hear from him by Sunday to call him back.Before I was even awake the next morning, Dr. Orander (still sounding incredibly friendly and unperturbed) had left a voicemail telling me my own dentist had a 9 a.m. opening on Monday and although he would happily see me himself, it would make more sense (and be more cost-effective) for me to see my own dentist.Although he did not make the request, I decided to write a review because of the excellent customer service and superior bed-side manner. Dr. Oranders patients are very fortunate to have such a caring, thoughtful professional working for them.

Dr Orander has been treating me most of my life. He is trustworthy and won’t try to sell you on things you don’t need. Definitely recommend!

Awesome, Dr. Orander has taught at the UNC-CH Dental School and he is always wishing to educate me on wellness topics related to oral health. His staff have been with the practice for a long time and they are cheerful, professional and pleasant. I like that all staff are on time, cordial, professional and cheerful, with a focus on my dental care and on me as a patient.

Dr. Orander and his staff have been great. They are knowledgeable, competent and friendly. It is a pleasure being a client!

Dr. Orander is the best dentist that I have ever been to! I started going to him when I was 4 years old and no other dentist I went to has ever compared. He is very honest about any issues you may have and has never tried to tell me that I needed something when I really didnt. I have also tried all of the hygenists there and they are all very nice and professional.The only downside? I am not very fond of their receptionist. She can be a bit terse and is not always the friendliest.

Youll never need to look for another dentist after visiting Dr. Robert Oranders office. I know it sounds like a cliché, but it really isnt.. He is a caring dentist w/ gentle hands. Read on..After moving to the RDU area in 1969, I had been to so many different dentists trying to find one that was a bit more compassionate about being on the other end of a dental needle. I had tried many recommendations f/ friends, family, cohorts, but they all were part of the fast n furious.... always leaving me w/ unbearable pain f/ injections if the procedure called for it.Here it is 1995 and still looking for the right dentist.How I came to hear about Dr. Orander has its own story, but, once again, I took a recommendation. This time f/ … a stranger...of all people. But, I was desperate to get away f/ what I call the fast n furious. Get you in and get the job done as quickly as psbl w/o consideration for the pain the patient is going through. Ingrit (sp) was the strangers name, whom I met while sitting in a whirlpool at a spa. She just so happened to be Dr. Oranders assistant.She raved about how compassionate he is and seems to really understand the pain on the other side of the needle. Well, that sounded good enough, so I decided to try him.... Afterall, I had tried everyone elses recommendation, so, why not?24 years later, and Dr. Orander is still my dentist. Everything Ingrit said was true. Recently, I had to visit Dr. Oranders office, b/c I had chipped an old filling. After a quick 15-20 mins, the problem was fixed. During a short conversation afterwards, he brought to my attention that I had been his patient for 24 yrs... WOW! was my response. Never would I have thought that Id want to recognize an anniversary w/ my dentist. So, Dr. Orander, thank you for eliminating my dental fear for 24 years and counting! Respectfully, Brenda M-C
