The actual treatment I had at this facility was good, I was treated well by the front desk staff, my provider, and the medical tech. I have gone 3 times with no complaints. But my issue is I can’t get another appointment, I have called daily for a week to try and schedule an appointment, have left messages, and no one will answer the phone. It’s almost like they only want you to be able to schedule in person after your last appointment. Based on reading reviews that seems to be a consistent problem, at this point I may have to try and go in person to just make and appointment!

Everything was on time, very professional at all levels. All my questions answered without hesitation. Treatments were excellent.

The only good thing I can say right now was very quick service. I was only gone for work an hour-- including my 12 minute drive each way.However I had to turn to Google for aftercare treatment for the procedure I received, because the doctor was quick to leave the room once the procedure was completed. This makes me a bit nervous because I could tell she was rushing to get to her next patient, I just hope she didnt scar my face and rush the procedure itself. I guess time will tell. Ive put off getting this done because Ive been nervous about scarring and being rushed out of the office without really being told how to appropriately take care of the area to avoid scarring on my face didnt help :)I also have no idea when the biopsy will be completed/when Ill get my results. Guess Ill get them when I get them.I do love the quickness-- but I wish I could feel more confident in aftercare/healing. Thank goodness for Google I guess.

Im very happy with Southern Dermatology. It was clean, efficient, and orderly. My appointment was at 3pm and I was out by 3:15. All my questions were answered to my satisfaction and I would recommend them to anyone.

We changed to Southern Dermatology when my husband called our previous one for an appointment for a very bad itching rash. They had an appointment for the next week until they realized we are on Medicare. Then they said it would be 4 months. We found Southern and I am so glad. They are attentive and caring and we were never happier. I have had several procedures and it has always gone well. I highly recommend this practice.

I havent actually visited the place. I was attempting to schedule a new patient appointment. I called (multiple times on 7/26/21) throughout the day and NO ONE ANSWERED THE PHONE - EVER. I literally called every 30 minutes. After three minutes of listening to music play, voicing services came on. I decided to take my search elsewhere. I do not want a physician I cant reach on the phone.

Outstanding medical personnel, great facility, but for me (and my inadequate insurance plan) a bit costly. My deductible and cost for a visit was extraordinarily expensive.

Very pleased with all aspects of the Southern Dermatology practice. The online preregistration was easy to use and the reception technicianthanked me for completing before I arrived. The Drs assistant was friendly and efficientDr. Briley arrived in a few minutes and diagnosed my condition and suggested three options. I chose one and went to checkout where we scheduled my appointment. The office and exam rooms are modern and clean. Great visit.

After the whole song and dance of cycling through various providers in attempts to find just the right fit, Southern Dermatology was my light at the end of the tunnel! Even if it is an hour and a half drive for me, I have no doubt found my dermatologist home for the foreseeable future. I had a bad experience with the laser hair removal with Jennifer. She was a bit aggressive. She did areas I did not need or expect her to do, and the setting she used was too high. She was not sensitive towards the client during the procedure. It wasn’t until I was burned that she said I wasn’t a candidate for this treatment. Dr Wilmouth did a follow up visit to see her mistakes and rather than taking responsibility he denied any wrongdoing. Thankfully my skin type heals well and did not have permanent damage, except one lighter spot on my face which I still don’t understand why it is like this (either it is a laser burn or from the “nectar” bleach formula they gave me to heal it, it remains unresolved because of the failure of the practice to take responsibility for it and explain the truth). I found someone else to continue the treatment at a lower setting and it was fine. I would not recommend laser here unless your skin type is closest to Jennifer’s preference for the type of laser she uses.

Southern Dermotology at Blue Ridge Road in Raleigh is a great place for skin care needs. My husband and I both went and we were welcomed courteously by the front desk staff. We were called back for our appointments quickly and Dr. Briley, along with her nurse was kind and knowledgeable. The wait time was minimal. The gentleman who checked us out was friendly as well. It was a professional atmosphere with kind and caring people.

I gotta say, Dr. Wilmoth is probably the best doctor of any type Ive had. It appears to be like any other office on check-in - efficient and big, like youll be rushed through on a conveyor belt. But once the nurse takes you back, everyone is genuinely friendly and interested in you as a person. Dr. Wilmoth has always answered my questions in a friendly, patient, teaching kind of way, not patronizing, and not throwing medical jargon. Ive met people in the practice and the Skin Center and theyve all been that way.

Very disappointing experience. I had an appointment with Tracey S. Cloninger, PA for acne problem. There was no proper physician-patient interaction what so ever. She didnt take time to explain or discuss the reason behind the acne, or what type of acne whether it is hormonal or just random pimples, she didnt ask if I had any hormonal problems or if I ever missed my date, No suggestions on how to maintain skin care regime. The conversation went on only on the basis of my questions. I was just asked if I used any medication in the past and when I said I used Clindamycin gel, she said do you want me to suggest that as prescription and when I said Yes, she simply prescribed it. Im just a patient. Im not sure if there are any latest medications available for acne. It is her responsibility to analyze the problem and suggest if there is a better medication out there. But I was surprised when she asked me what I have used in the past and simply added into prescription. Over all its a waste of time. Ive been to few physicians who take good time to listen to the patients and explain them in detail about the condition and then prescribe the medication. But Tracey, PA is definitely not one of those. She was in a hurry and it was very clear that she had no interest to listen or speak and gave very blunt answers. I will not recommend this physician to anyone and Im never going there again.

My son was seen by Jennifer for 3 fracking laser procedures. She was so kind and caring and took time to explain everything and made sure his progress was as she expected. I would recommend Jennifer and wish we could give more than five stars. Thank you from the bottom of my heart ❤️

I’ve had several appointments with Dr Chalgreen for sun damage. He and his ruses were great. The front desk and nursing staff is professional and helpful. Dr Chalgreen is. Rey knowledgeable and his surgical skills healed nicely.

This week I visited Dr. Wilmoth for a full-body exam, and I feel so much better knowing I havent neglected my skin any longer. (Of course, Covid played a big part in my delay!) Dr. Wilmoth is such a skilled clinician and always displays such a professional nature. I personally encourage anyone to visit Southern Dermatology for that skin check!

****AWFUL**** Do not go here unless you want to get harassed and spoke to aggressively by the doctor (Margaret Boyse)!!! Never have I ever left a doctors office feeling extremely uncomfortable and shaking!!! Boyse is very unprofessional stay far away from this lady!

I can usually get an appointment within a few weeks, and very little waiting time once Im there. Dr Challgren is very thorough and always takes time to answer all my questions.

I have been going to Southern Dermatology for several years. As someone who spent my youth (pre sunscreen) in the sun often, I now pay the price having had several minor pre cancer areas removed. Everyone there has been extremely thorough in my exams and treatments. I recently had several of the Blue Light treatments on my face to remove pre cancer areas and was very pleased with the results. I would highly recommend Southern.

The staff is efficient and keeps all patients safe during the pandemic . Tracy and her nurse are so friendly and always keep the appointment cheerful while at the same time, meeting my needs and those that come up during the exam.I live in Rocky Mount with good choices for skin healthcare but I will always come back to Raleigh for the excellent care I receive from Tracy and Southern Dermatology!April Lucas

Terrible experience. This was my first visit here. I shared with the nurse my wants and concerns for about 5-10 minutes. I let the nurse know I usually get about 21 units of Botox in my forehead, with about 15 of these units in my “11s” area. After a bit, the Dr. Boyse came in and as I was talking to her, she starts wiping my eyes and cheeks and grabs a needle. I asked her what that was and she said “Botox”. I told her I don’t do Botox near my eyes and only in my forehead. She said “oh” and then just began putting it in my forehead area. She never once put any in my “11s” area, which is where I typically get the most of it. I literally left in tears realizing I had probably wasted my money. The doctor seemed hurried and gruff.

I had a great experience with Southern Dermatology. The doctor listened to my concerns and asked me how I wanted to handle. Very sensitive to my feelings. I also asked about cool sculpting and his nurse was kind enough to take me over so I could get a quote. Very nice. Thank you for going the extra mile.

We got our Covid vaccines at Southern Dermatology. Everyone was so compassionate and professional! If I ever have a dermatology need, I will definitely be coming here again. Would definitely recommend!

I had to take my 6 month old to this practice and boy was I extremely pleased! They have a lot, ALOT of foot traffic there and not so much space in the waiting area but other than that, my visit was wonderful. Stephanie, PA took very good care of my son and was thorough with explaining everything to me. I am so happy I found her, definitely recommend!!

Horrible experience. Dr. Briley seemed to be in a rush didnt ask me many questions about my acne, in fact she didnt ask me to remove my mask to look at my face. I had to pull down my mask to point out and explain my issues. The nurse ensured me that she was going to register me for iPledge for my treatment and that I would receive something in the mail to register within a few days.. Never happened. I called to check the status and a different nurse told me that the initial nurse forgot and that she would do it right away. She did and advised me to call iPledge to get registered faster. Went to the followup appointment 30 days after my initial appointment to start treatment. Got all test done and headed over to my pharmacy (20 minutes away), to find out my prescription wasnt filled. While standing at the counter at the pharmacy, I got a call from someone at the office telling me that my prescription wasnt filled because of a mistake that the nurse made with the registration and that I have to wait another 2 weeks and get tested again before I can start treatment. They are very incompetent and I do not recommend anyone going there until they fix these issues.

Ive been a patient of Dr. Boyse for a long time. Shes the only dermatologist that Ive ever used. I highly recommend her and the entire team at Southern Dermatology. World class care!

Dr. Challgren is wonderful! He did not rush through my visit. He patiently answered all my questions. I’ve seen him about different skin conditions and what he prescribed, cleared up both.

I have been a patient for quite a while now. I always have a good experience here and have recommended them to others. I recently had Mohs surgery for skin cancer and was very well cared for. Dr. Wilmouth has made sure that I am satisfied with the outcome as this procedure was done on my face. Scarring has been smoothed over.

My 8 year old daughter sees Tracy Cloninger PA. There are people who are meant to work in medicine and with kids and Tracy is at the top of that list. She is thorough yet efficient, kind and so funny. We are so grateful for providers like her!

Southern Dermatology gets you in and out quickly, but you do not feel rushed. They assess your needs, explain what they are going to do and get it done.

I see Stephanie and highly recommend her. She’s very knowledgeable, kind, patient and honest - I really appreciate all of those qualities. My only regret is that I didn’t find her and Southern Dermatology sooner.

Tracy Cloninger is amazing. She’s been taking care of my family for 14 years. So kind and knowledgeable it’s like a visit with family.

I went in for eczema i have had problems with my whole life and i saw dr briley. she did the bare minimum of what a doctor should do and did not even look at my eczema. She did give me options for treatments but did not explain any of them in depth and frankly seemed to be in a rush to get out of the room.

First time in this office and was very pleased with the overall experience.

So fast, I got there 10 minutes early and didnt even have time to fill out my paperwork before I was called back. Within 30 seconds of the nurse walking out, Dr. Briley came in to see me. She was friendly and very helpful. Everyone there was great!

I have been treated by this office for several years. Everyone from the front desk, techs, nurses and doctors have been friendly, attentive and caring.

Southern Dermatology had me make a an appointment with the Skin Renewal Center for a Blue Light Treatment. After my first treatment I was told that I would need to return in 1 month for a second follow up treatment in case the first treatment didnt take care of all the precancerous spots. I went for the second treatment and after a few weeks almost all of the spots left from the first treatment are still there. I called this morning and a fellow called me back to say that I would need a third treatment and that they should let the solution set longer before going under the blue light. They should have known this needed to be done on the second treatment. Where does it end?? These treatments are very expensive. I asked him if they could just freeze the remaining areas. He said well yes.Im done with The Skin Renewal Center.

Having just made my first visit, I find this is an efficiently run business with knowledgeable and caring staff. I’ll be back!

I was a first time patient and my experience was not all that impressive. The people and the office are modern and professional in most respects. I give it only an average grade because my first time experience left me unimpressed in other areas. Particular the way I was rushed through my treatment. I got there at the early time suggested to complete my initial paperwork but didnt have enough time to complete and playing catchup throughout the rest of my time there. Staff while competent was in rush, rush, rush mode which made me uncomfortable. Mind you Im not a senior citizen and Im from the Northeast so Im usually okay with a faster pace but this way McDonalds drive thru type of service. Again not bad but just very hurried and feel that it was important for them to get to next patient that it was to make sure I had a pleasant experience. I dont see doctors often and I certainly wouldnt see the experience was terrible but being treated in this manner had convinced me Ill go elsewhere next time I need skin treatment. This place isnt all its cracked up to be despite the strong reputation.

I was able to get an appointment for a skin cancer screening very quickly and my experience with Dr. Briley was excellent. She made me feel comfortable and answered all my questions and made recommendations. It was a good experience.

I dont write reviews much at all but in the name of health care issues that just about all of us go through, Im doing it this time. My doctor and nurse specifically have been nice and efficient, no issues with medical staff.The front desk on the other hand, is never not in a bad mood- No matter what day Ive been. They finish your sentences for you, they are impatient. Im sure this comes from something else and they may be projecting it but its really uncomfortable.But this is why I really felt inclined to write this- They started sending out biopsies to Aurora Diagnostics Labs Greensboro. Do me a favor and look up their reviews. I literally went through the same experience as everyone else. They are not a trusted lab, and for some reason Southern and the debt collection agency had my current address but the lab didnt. So somehow I never received a bill and got sent to collections- Read the reviews.I did not choose to use Aurora- I chose to use Southern Dermatology. In a system where patients get nickled and dimed for just about anything in health care, I find it extremely disappointing that I did a quick google search and found the unethical practices of the lab Southern chose to use. That means sending your patients to a place that is putting people in financial predicaments that could otherwise be avoided.There should be some sense of responsibility here if patients come to your office and YOU choose the lab were getting billed from.Southern Dermatology- I urge you to switch lab providers. Health care is already difficult at it is. Please find a place with some ethical credibility. I cant continue to be a patient here because of this.

I highly recommend her.However, as I indicated to Dr. Briley and the Office Manager on my most recent visit this week, u like other medical offices, this waiting room was too crowded and individuals accompanying patients coupled with patients in this COVID-19 era made me extremely uncomfortable. At 8am there were too many people in the waiting room space for this senior!!!

Southern dermatology is always great. I had an allergic reaction that caused my face to swell. Even though they had no appointments open they worked me in with no wait time once I arrived. Quick and professional diagnosis. Prescription was called in to my pharmacy immediacy and I was much improved the next morning.

They were patient and helpful. The doctor was friendly and knowledgeable in ways that my GP was not. Also the facilities are nice.
