They were also really great about keeping my family informed about what I was doing and helped him understand better what I was going through and how best to help me through it. Since getting home I’ve stayed sober and my husband and I are doing better than ever now.

Frankly, the only reason I chose First Step was because it was covered by insurance. My first impression of First Step completely changed as I went through treatment. I realized that the counselors weren’t only addressing substance abuse issues, but also “life” issues. I definitely think breaking out into smaller groups or even just nights when group was less crowded was extremely beneficial. I also personally felt a tremendous amount of growth before and after my one-on-one check-ins. Katie was an incredible counselor and she has a wonderful way of having us (the group members) think insightful. Being a part of group helped me continue to grow and mature and it also helped me put a lot of areas in my life into perspective. I’m grateful that I chose First Step and would highly recommend it to anyone in a similar situation. I’m optimistic about using my tools to continue to grow and embrace life.

As I reflect on the past year of aftercare, the first word that comes to mind is gratitude. I am so grateful for the skills I have learned to achieve sobriety and maintain it. When I started, I was an anxious addicted mess. I was in denial about my addiction and I was angry about my circumstances. Through work in the First Step program, support from the counselors and group. I have gained a new perspective on life and learned not only who I am, but how to cope with the challenges in my life. I have achieved a sense of clarity and restored trust in many of my relationships. This has given me a renewed purpose and passion for my life. I am hopeful for what the future holds and cherish the sobriety I have gained in recovery.

Excellent Place! I would give 10 stars if I could. I had an appointment the same week. Even though my insurance wouldnt cover the initial doctor visit it was still affordable being self pay. I had been looking for a facility for weeks with no luck due to cost of services at other places. But I left today after my visit with prescriptions needed to help aid in my treatment and recovery. Dr. Sandy is the real deal! Shes not in it for the $. She is there to really help people. I highly recommend this place! Ms. Kim was super efficient in the whole intake process and was on top of things and responded quickly. Thanks to all that work there that made this process so easy and comfortable.

I contacted First Services in order to get help with my anxiety thats causes addiction. As someone suffering with these illnesses its very important that the medical staff is prompt and attentive in order for treatment to be effective. This is not the case at First Steps. When I scheduled my first assessment appointment I had to call the office 15 min late to confirm if that counselor was still keeping my appointment, it was only then that the counselor called; Not a big deal so I continued, and agreed to be evaluated next by the psychiatric. That appointment was scheduled for 10 am. Same thing, I waited until 10:30 this time before calling the office to find out what happened to my appointment. I called a total of TWELVE times at all 3 phone numbers provided from 10:30 to 1:30 pm until finally someone answered at the Cary site. By this time I was so upset I just asked to cancel everything all together so I could find a facility that actually cares about the patients and will actually show up to the appointments that they make you PRE PAY for. So $75 right down the drain and no help at all. If anything they discouraged me even more from seeking help because of how careless they act.

This place is AMAZING !! Katie is one of the best counselors I had a pleasure of meeting. This place will definitely help you but its all about what you put into it. There was no pressure and they make you feel like part of a larger family. I am so glad and future to have attended First Step Services. THANK YOU !!

I had to go to classes because the state of NC said I had to. When I ask a staff member if they drank or went out drinking after classes, her response was basically not our business or that it was irrelevant. I think these courses should be taught by people do not drink or do drugs of anykind. The whole system is nothing but revenue driven. Someones pocket will always be filled. Yes I will continue to drink when I want and as often I choose to or not to. Will I ever drink and drive again HELL NO, I lost to much to do so again, but it has nothing to do with this course. UBER PEOPLE UBER.

Refused to send out of state packet, over charged me for classs, and over billed my insurance, and they have random fees that show up randomly. No one here will explain anything to you, plus they have large groups, and they treat everyone as an intensive outpatient.
