Nice open space not that different from mission trials. Not a spec of shade. Wish they didnt lock the gates , makes it harder to do a sun-up hike.

Beautiful, expansive reserve great for horses, bikes and hikers. Parking area with a restroom at the trailhead. There are more restrooms at the Ranger’s Station recommended on the return route. The area is extremely well maintained and there are several historical remains. Hikers, start on the Martha’s Grove trail to the left of the reserve map. We, unfortunately, did not do this and later learned that trail is One Way only. We took Cardiac Hill to make our loop, hence the elevation gain. There’s a great picnic area with panoramic views at the top.

Nice hike from the Sycamore Canyon Trailhead. About 7 miles ... Marthas Grove is a winding moderately rocky trail with some minor up and down grades and then is flat along the dry creek bed, headed west up Cardiac Hill which was steep at some points but is a dirt road so not too challenging. The Ridge Line Trail offers nice north-south views, a bit steep descending back to the creek bed. and then it is a dirt road back past the visitors center. About 3.5 hours with a stop for a quick lunch and to check out the ranger station (w/ two - 8 year olds).

As you walk down an old dirt road in the middle of No where it appears around the corner. The beautiful Nature Center. Theres history and Nastia there.

Great mountain biking trails and hiking trails, with a neat visitor center and an old burnt down ranch house to see. Marthas Grove trail is a challenging mountain bike downhill trail.

Wide open and not too crowded with well maintained 10miles of trails. Not a lot of shade so bring water!

Open space with various trails to follow. It was very quiet out in this area. Saw a bounding jackrabbit and a red tailed hawk. You can hike out to a ranger station which has a bathroom. I plan to go back and take some of the side trails. Take lots of water and sunscreen. Not a lot of shade anywhere.

Easy get away

Great location for hiking and biking, especially in the spring and fall.

That Alex guy who gave a 1 star is an Idiot. Because its closed? Dumbass. Ive been trail running here for 10 yrs its so tranquil,weve had 50 mile and 100k trail races here. Marthas Grove is a peaceful utopía grove dedicated to s beautiful person who cared so much. Highly recommend to come here at least once in your life.

Awesome place...burnt down in cedar fire...rebuilt but I havent been down there since they rebuilt it. Quite a hike to get to it
