I thought they did emergency appointments she told me I dont have anything today or Monday I advises thats not going to help me now she said well I suggest you go to er or call another surgeon. This is not cool tome and I dont like how it was handled.

This office was amazing! The hospital referred me and the suregeona here were able to get me in the next day and scheduled me for surgery the very next day! The drs were patient, kind, engaging when explaining my options for surgery, my symptoms post surgery and what to expect. They answered all of my pre and post surgery questions even weeks after my procedure. The staff here was great every visit or time I called! Hopefully I will not ever need to come back lol, but do highly recommend!!!

Dr Lignelli and staff are wonderful. Dr Lignelli and his nursing staff explained everything in very simple terms. Very caring and helpful.. I have never been a person who liked or even went to on a regular dentist - too much anxiety. But with this practice, that did and a still doesnt exist. If you need an Oral Surgeon, Dr Lignelli is you surgeon.

I called in last Thursday because my wisdom teeth were causing me a lot of pain and they told me I could come in that same day and they would help. When I got there the staff was extremely friendly and helpful. They gave me medicine for that night and got me on the schedule for the next morning to have my wisdom teeth removed. Dr.Roland and the entire staff here are the best! I am a baby when it comes to having my teeth worked on but they made everything so simple and painless. Thank you so much!! Highly recommend!!

Scheduled a consultation for my wisdom tooth extraction. Asked three separate times on the phone if there would be a copay or charge for the appointment. They said no each time. Appointment was at 230 and Doctor smith did not come into room until 320 day of my appointment and stayed for less than 3 minutes to tell me I needed my wisdom teeth removed (which my dentist obviously already told me). They then charged me a $50 copay for those 3 minutes after telling me there would be no charge.

As a dentist practicing in the area I can tell you I refer all of my patients to this office. Any oral surgeon can remove a tooth or place an implant, but to do it well and to minimize future problems it takes planning, care, skill, and solid judgement. I would trust these guys with my own mouth any day.

Great experience all around. My son needed to have two teeth pulled and I was a nervous mom. From the first phone call to our departure was such a positive experience. The receptionist was so helpful, kind and patient over the phone and in person. Each staff member greeted us and were very pleasant. The doctor and staff were absolutely wonderful, understanding and passed no judgment of a scared kid and nervous mom. Highly recommended.

I sat waiting for dr Smith for my surgery for over a hr hooked up ready to go while my ride was waiting for me. They did not bother coming in to tell me that he is running behind no one bothered coming to check on me! They hooked me up told me the dr would be in in a couple minutes. My appointment was at 10am i was 15 minutes early. Dr Smith did not come in until 11:15 ish last time I had seen someone was at 10:15. I could hear the nurses saying how dr Smith had just gotten there until 10am. I will not be going back my family will not be going back. I would not recommend them. If I did this in my business I would not have any customers.

All the workers are very nice but I got my wisdom teeth out and as soon as I woke up all the numbing drugs had worn out and I was in pain. The prescription they gave also didn’t help at all so I’d avoid getting teeth out here.

I first went to Pottstown Oral Surgery and saw Dr. Lignelli in the summer of 2018 to receive botox for TMJ. I got MRIs done and Dr Lignelli suggested doing a bilateral arthroscopy. That did not help and then we did a bilateral arthrosentesis which then made my jaw even worse. We then did a bilateral arthroplasty a few months apart. 6 procedures in exactly a year. My facial nerve was hit during the surgery and part of my face has been paralyzed since and will be permanently. Tons of medicine, follow-up visits, neurology appointments and thousands of dollars of out of pocket expenses later leading to nerve pain and chronic migraines later and my jaw is still not fixed. Please do your research before getting major surgery. I trusted Dr. Lignelli and my life has been forever changed. I was on disability for 8 months after my surgery complications and almost lost my job. There are many other procedures to try before surgery that were never even considered in my case.

This place is absolutely the best!! Very comfortable setting. Had tooth pulled that was broken at the gum. I was taken right in, awake for the procedure, and felt no pain. Now it’s the next day and still no pain nor did I have swelling. No one believes I had it done. Let’s hope I do not need to return but if so at least that will be the easy part. I highly recommend! Thank you, Andrea

This office should be a shame of themselves. They treat people very disrespectful. The sad thing is they get away with it because they’re the only oral surgeons in town. They need competition here in Pottstown then I’m sure they’ll do better..

This is an excellent place! I went to the Boyertown satellite location of Pottstown Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. It was easy to find, with ample parking in the back. Dr. Paul G. Smith extracted my tooth, and he was great at answering all my questions beforehand. There is ample supportive staff there and everyone was very nice. I highly recommend this business.

Excellent staff. I was actually scheduled to have my procedure done at the Boyertown office & showed up here by mistake but Dr. Ward was able to see me at the last minute anyway, & he was very comforting & friendly. I had 5 wisdom teeth & a badly cracked molar extracted today & honestly the discomfort afterwards is nowhere as bad as I thought it would be. Great job guys!

I am about to have a 2nd tooth extraction by Dr Paul Smith. I live about 40 minutes away and could go to a Dr closer to my Reading home but , I wont. Ive had other Drs pull teeth for me with frightening results but my daughter recommended me to go to Pottstown Oral Surgeons last year. Honest to God, Dr Smith made the experience so positive both with his professionalism and ethical treatment and also his wonderful soothing personality that I am going back this week. I recommend Dr Smith to everyone. Hes great. 5 stars to you Dr Smith even if weve only dealt with each other twice. Hugs, Rosemarie Kosma

Pottstown Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery Associates, Inc. SHOULD OWN ITS GREEDAfter a few months with a mild toothache I went to see my dentist. He took x rays and told me that the tooth required immediate extraction because of infection rapidly approaching the nerve. He instructed me to find an oral surgeon before the end of the week. My insurance carrier identified Paul G Smith (a doctor within Plan) at Pottstown Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery Associates, Inc. in Pottstown PA (1 hour drive from where I lived). I called and explained the urgency of my condition and I was given an appointment for tooth extraction the following day. In the morning after a painful and restless night I called to make sure there were no loose ends given the urgency and the travel distance. This time the receptionist explained there would be no extraction because my insurance required authorization. This new information was never disclosed to me when I made the appointment or when I called my insurance. I was told that I would require new x rays and a letter written by the doctor to be sent to my insurance in order to get authorization. I asked how long it would take the answer 7 to 10 days. I panic I told her that I could not possibly wait that long with the pain I had and asked what I could do. She said I could keep the appointment and get the extraction if I agreed to pay out of pocket. She would not provide an exact price but said it would not be less than $775. I could not afford to pay and at the same time delay was jeopardizing my health as the infection spread. Shocked and demoralized I told her I would call my insurance to see if they could speed up the process given the pain and -more importantly- health implications. I called my insurance somewhat upset. I asked why (given the seriousness of my condition) the approval process was not made transparent to me. Insurance stated that there was no Pre-approval requirement for doctors within Plan. The receptionist at Pottstown Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery Associates, Inc. had scapegoated the insurance carrier as a cover up. Insurance was not pleased and suggested I call back Pottstown Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery Associates, Inc. office to let them know that the insurance carrier would be happy to clarify the situation. Relieved I called back Pottstown Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery Associates, Inc. The same receptionist I had talked to earlier answered the phone. I explained with excitement that no Pre-authorization was required with my Plan as such the surgeon could perform the extraction immediately. The receptionist answer was: It is the practices policy to first have an appointment with a patient before scheduling a procedure. Presumably Pottstown Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery Associates, Inc. could take X-rays and proceed immediately based upon findings. For purely profit motives, however, it decided to create two independent insurance billing events. In short, generating more money while putting a patients health at risk. Is this in keeping with the Hippocratic Oath? All this notwithstanding Pottstown Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery Associates, Inc. knowingly booked an appointment on a false premise that I would have my tooth extracted and more disturbingly when confronted with this deceit, Pottstown Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery Associates, Inc. attempted to cover up its misrepresentation by shifting blame to my insurance carrier. Pottstown Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery Associates, Inc. actions were immoral, unethical and unconscionable. I cancelled my appointment and vowed to share my experience. Before you consider Pottstown Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery Associates, Inc. understand its primary motive is PROFIT. DECEIT, MISREPRESENTATION and LYING are its tactics. Think about it. Unbeknownst to me they would knowingly have me drive for more than 2 hours only to have me wait another week in pain all the while putting my health at risk solely for profit. UNCONSCIONABLE!

11:30 am appointment made months in advance for recheck on an $1800 implant that I paid for in cash.-- 11:10 am I arrived. Wasnt warned that there were any delays.-- 11:50 am I was brought to an exam room. Wasnt warned there was any delay.-- 12:53 am Dr Smith arrived 83 minutes late for my pre-scheduled appointment. He offered a hollow apology for having another patient in the other room.-- 12:55 am Dr Smith was done with me.83 minutes late for a 2 minute appointment. Obviously my time is worthless and I had nothing better to do than wait.Grr. He may be an ok oral surgeon. But his lack of respect for this patients time is unforgivable.

I have never had a more relaxing, pleasant and swift medical appointment, let alone having 4 wisdom teeth pulled. I went in, waited 2 mins in the waiting room, they had me out with ketamine and propofal in 5 mins. What felt like a min later(actually 45) I awoke to no pain, just a little giddy and stumbly. This place will have my affection forever. Dr John lignelli II is an oral surgeon sent from heaven. I have to this day(7 days ltr) felt no pain!
