Had my first appointment with Dr. Yoder on April 11 and was beyond satisfied with my visit. Testing /assessments were very thorough and she even took time to inform me about the best type of hearing aids in addition to information on assistive devices and beneficial auditory training programs. Will definitely be returning as needed!

Dr. Yoder is awesome sauce. I have a tricky type of hearing loss (reverse slope) that takes more knowledge and time to effectively treat than some more common types of loss. Dr. Yoder was highly recommended to me by others with the same type of loss. I was hesitant to go because my last attempt at hearing aids was a disaster at UPMC where they rush you through everything and only have a couple of minutes with the actual doctor and no-one takes the time to make adjustments or listen to patient feedback about what they are hearing. Anyway! Dr. Yoder was the first doctor that did a lot of things. She was the first doctor to do extremely thorough testing and interpretation, first to completely explain my type of hearing loss to me step by step, the first doctor to do loudness tolerance testing which was vital for me since I have sensory sensitivities and migraines, first doctor to test hearing in a certain bandwidth that no one had ever tested before and that ended up being really important in my hearing loss profile, the first doctor to do the real ear measurements, and the first doctor to sit with me one on one for extended periods of time to work on figuring everything out and then with hearing aid fitting and adjustments. Her testing was more thorough than any Ive had before. It is such a refreshing thing to sit with your doctor one on one for an hour, or two, and figure things out that youve been dealing with your entire life, and finally be able to hear better!

As publisher of The Hearing Blog, I am constantly asked for referrals; and in may cases, I demur. However, within the western Pennsy area, Suzanne Yoder, Au.D. is my go-to gal for the toughest of cases, whether involving reverse slope hearing loss, (central) auditory processing disorder, and other tricky cases. If Dr. Yoder cant help you, be prepared to drive to Columbus or NYC -- Shes THAT good!APRIL 2021 UPDATE: Since my original 2018 review, Ive sent more tricky cases to my Pittsburgh colleague; and all have been blown away with her service, her skill, and her kindness: Shes profoundly deaf, and eats her own dog food by getting cochlear implants to restore her hearing. She has also mentored a pair of deaf ladies who have CIs become audiologists themselves. I cannot recommend Dr Yoder any more highly.

I have been very satisfied with Dr. Yoder’s expertise in enabling me to hear better by skillfully adjusting my hearing aids. I purchased my aids from an ENT medical practice that specializes in hearing. After two and a half years of working with them “making adjustments” to my aids I was not satisfied. The adjustments were very subjective. It seemed like I was going around in circles in a hit or miss process. I sought out an independent audiologist that had the ability to make the adjustment process more empirical. Dr. Yoder met the challenge in a very short period of time. She is highly professional, caring, detailed, and understanding of someone with a hearing loss. Dr. Yoder’s performance coupled with her state of the art equipment and caring staff supports me in recommending her highly as your audiologist.C. B.Yaskanich (2/2018)

Dr. Yoder has helped me and my hearing tremendously. This will tell you how much I trust, respect and appreciate the HearWell Center: Even though I have moved from Allegheny County, I still commute more than an hour to see Dr. Yoder rather than go to any other audiologist. She demonstrates superior knowledge of audiology and is up on all the latest technological advancements. Additionally, she is extremely compassionate and really understands the challenges and difficulties facing the hearing impaired. Whenever I have needed Dr. Yoder in an emergency, she has always responded quickly and seem me as soon as possible. Dr. Yoder and Phil are the consummate professionals and they provide excellent service at a very economical cost. I would recommend the HearWell Center to everyone in need of any audiology services.
