I was referred to Dr. Hanchett and his team by a friend of mine because I dont have a dentist/oral surgeon in the area but needed my wisdom teeth out. I was definitely a bit nervous but the whole team was SO KIND. And Dr.H himself was very attentive and nice. They all worked together very well and treated me excellently. Would highly recommend!!!

My wife and I just visited Summit Dental Specialty and all I can say is WOW!!! My son is 8 months old and has a little white bump under his tongue. His pediatrician wanted us to take him to a specialist just to have a looked at it. Our doctors referral coordinator called around the entire valley of the sun and no surgeon would look at our son due to his age. I was referred to Summit Dental Specialty from a friend and I am so glad we were! From the moment I called the office, Shiela took amazing care of us. She got us an appointment the very next day with one of her amazing doctors.When we arrived at the office Shiela greeted us with open arms and amazing hospitality! Within minutes of arriving we were called to be seen. The nurse took our temperatures to ensure we were not showing symptoms of Covid-19. All of the staff were wearing masks & gloves. There was hand sanitizer in multiple places for patients to use, we felt extremely comfortable to visit the office during Covid-19.The nurse was extremely friendly as she asked us a few questions about our son, he was very talkative but the nurse was very genuine and smiled at him and waived. You can tell the staff here truly loves kids. Some other doctor offices the staff puts a fake smile on and are annoyed if babies are well, acting like babies but not here.We had the pleasure of meeting Dr. Hanchett. He came in the room and right away was interacting with our son. He was so friendly and shared with us that he has a 1 year old and 3 year old at home. Hearing that put my wife and I at ease knowing that he understands what we are going through as first time parents. We were both a little afraid of what this bump could be, reading WebMD is never a good idea as a first time parent and we might have done that. Dr. Hanchett took a look at our son’s mouth and saw the bump and examined it. He explained what it was and that at this moment there is nothing to worry about and we will re-visit him in 6 months. He also noticed our son has two teeth coming in so he shared with us what we could do to ease his pain and how to brush them. Again he shared personal stories of how he brushes his kids teeth and that was comforting to hear.The nurse who came into the room with doctor was extremely friendly and also interacted with our son. Our son dropped his ball on the floor and she automatically picked it up and cleaned it for us.After speaking to the doctor the nurse made us an appointment for a 6 month follow up and even gave some toys to our son to have. I mean, I wish I was visiting this office as a patient, when I go to my dentist he only gives me a toothbrush and toothpaste, nothing fun like a squishy ball and sun glasses 😉The staff at Summit Dental Specialty is an All-Star Team and if you need to have any work done, I would 100% highly recommend this office!!!

Great experience! Dr Jonathan Barnes is an expert endodontist. He is a solid practitioner; needed a root canal (unfortunately) and the treatment/experience was exceptional. Front desk (Sheila) made my appointment and all the assistants were also fantastic! Hopefully I wont need to visit again, but if I do I wont hesitate to see Dr Barnes and his staff. And recommend Summit to others.

It is rare to find a medical provider with a great doctor, responsive support personnel, & a comfortable facility, that also is cognizant of cost. Summit Dental Specialty exhibits all these qualities. From the first phone call with Sheila, to the visit with Dr. Hanchett & check out with Natalie- everyone was patient, kind, & informative. The entire team helped lessen a stressful experience.Dr. Hanchett is great at communicating with patients. It is clear that he has a true passion for thoroughly practicing as an oral & maxillofacial surgeon. Weve barely tipped the iceberg in my 5 year olds treatment. But having Dr. Hanchetts vast practice experience & knowledge base is an immeasurable benefit for my childs well being. I highly recommend Summit Dental Specialty as a specialized medical provider.

If you ever need a Root Canal, you MUST have the work done here. This practice is the real deal. They are incredibly professional, friendly, and most importantly experts in their field. I highly recommend them and appreciate their work ethic and integrity. The team here work together like a well crafted Rolex!!After a consult, they actually said I do not need a root canal on a specific tooth that my dentist said I did. This made me want to bring my son in for his root canals that we knew he needed.They definitely spoil their patients which you dont see these days. From the start, Shiela was amazing with getting us started.The Dr. treats you with ensuring the least pain & discomfort .From the second you set foot there , all their team went out of their way to keep us informed & made us as comfortable as possible .Nobody wants to go in for this treatment but if you must, do yourself a favor....make it a pleasant experience and call them.Very lucky to have found them and thankful for the 2 important treatments they handled for us.

Had two wisdom teeth and one additional pulled. I have had mediocre service at every previous dentist Ive been to.Dr Hanchett and his assistants Kayla and Alex went above and beyond to make sure I was comfortable and well taken care of throughout the entire process. I came in nervous, but I left extremely pleased and at ease about the choice I made. I wouldnt recommend anywhere else to go, theyre amazing! 10/10!

I was having terrible tooth pain that was also causing ear pain and called my dentist. He soon found the problem and knew I needed a root canal and soon. Before I even left that appointment they had made an appointment for me to go to Summit that same day. Shiela at the front desk was so friendly and helpful and I was taken back within minutes to see Dr. Barnes. The assistant Natalie was so nice and made me feel comfortable right away. I thought I might be there just for a consultation but I was thrilled when I found out I was able to get the root canal right then. Yes, I was thrilled to get a root canal lol.Dr. Barnes was so extremely nice and showed so much care when I expressed some anxiety I was having. Natalie made sure to help with that also when she fixed the dental dam in a way that was still where it needed to be but also fixed it in a way to ease my anxiety. When you have people who you actually feel care about your comfort in situations like this it makes all the difference in the world.I felt like Dr. Barnes and Natalie took their time in fixing my tooth and doing the root canal. I was so appreciative of their care and also explaining everything they were doing as they went along. I left the office pain free and even later I didnt feel any pain or the next day. I highly recommend Dr. Barnes and his office to anyone who needs a dental specialist. I am so thankful that my dentist referred me to Summit Dental Specialty and Dr. Barnes and his staff. Dr. Barnes makes something like a root canal not so bad and if you can say that about a dental specialist you know you have a great one!! Thank You SO much SDS staff :)

I very recently had the unpleasant experience of a very sudden and terrible abscessed tooth, while on a business trip to the Phoenix metro area. I however couldn’t have been in a better place for it to happen. My regular dental practice in Denver said they couldn’t see me for several days and wouldn’t be able to get me into their Endodontist until the following week. Calls were made by a local Ahwatukee dentist and he found Dr Barnes who said he would stay late and perform my root canal after hours. The entire staff was kind and friendly and brushed off my apologies for making them stay late with an answer of “how could we not stay knowing someone was in pain and we could help”. The following day my body overreacted to the surgery and pain, my jaw was overly swollen and I needed to get on my plane home. After calling, the kind young lady at the front desk asked me to send pictures (rather than reassure me that swelling is normal) and after seeing the pictures she showed Dr Hanchett, who then immediately made room for me to come in so he could drain the area as to relieve as much of my discomfort as possible prior to the flight. He then followed up with a message to check on my pain level later that evening after once I’d made it back to Denver. The compassion, kindness and professionalism by this entire staff made a horrible situation much more bearable.

Dr. Scott Johnson was fantastic. He heard me out and the pain I was having. He ran through a couple of things and shared his professional opinion of what it was. He was spot on his diagnosis. I had seen another dentist before him and they thought it was TMJ. Dr Johnson got to the root of the problem(pun intended) and made an accurate diagnosis. He got me in quickly because he understood how painful this can be. Great bedside manners. He listened intently and fully before speaking. Icould tell he cares. Top notch service!! Ill be referring others to him as well. Thanks Dr J!!!

My sons dentist recommended that all 4 wisdom teeth be removed due to some decay in each. We were given a few options for oral surgeons whom I contacted to get information so that I could decide on one that I felt most comfortable with. Hands down, from my very first contact, Summit Dental Specialty, PLLC won out!Emma, the practice administrator and Sheila the practice manager are gems, always patient with me and answering the dozens of questions I always threw at them. Never once did they seem annoyed as you sometimes feel with employees at other practices.Dr Hanchett who performed the surgery this morning was also great and met with me prior to go over all of the post operative instructions.Overall, I give this practice an A+ and will recommend anyone I know to them!
