We were so lucky to have crossed paths with Dr. Naomi Salins, and I am forever grateful my dad was under her care and careful watch. Dr. Salins impacted our life in such an extraordinary way.Ive never met anyone as gentle and kind, as knowledgeable and engaged, as resourceful, relentless, and remarkable than Dr. Salins. She treated my dad for 4 years; he had Parkinsons Disease. With her guidance, we made a terrible condition as good as it could possibly be.There was enormous trust. She was always two steps ahead of my dads decline, knowing just what to do and say, knowing how to guide us and approach each stage.I sound schmalzty, but she was a Godsend and a true blessing to us right from the start -- and she was there with us to the inevitable end. I miss my dad terribly... and I miss the support system we built -- the nurses, the physical and occupational therapists, the speech pathologists, the case managers, the receptionists, the valet -- but I miss Dr. Salins most of all.
