Honestly Im not happy with this hospital. Most of the nurses is nice but there is a nurse that draw your blood and put an I.v. and she is slow and mean. She skip over me twice and never ask if anyone was okay. She speaks more Spanish or something than English She has blond hair and wear it in a ponytail. She is horrible. I understand the staff is tired thats why I didnt even bother yelling but nothing is order and everyone is everywhere. All the doctors thumbs up. The nurses need more work with people.

This has been by far the worst experience of emergency room of my life. The only good thing about this place was the check in girl. She was very kind and quick. Waiting room was dirty, and the vitals nurse was the most rude health care worker ive encountered. This lady with red curly hair was being mean to us and other patients. 0 compassion or work ethic. There were also people that didnt know english well and she was not explaining enough to them what they needed to do. Someone send her to work behind a desk, in a room where she has no one around her. She obviously is horrible at being a caregiver… no one wants to go to an emergency room in pain to be yelled at 🙄

They basically killed my friend. She went in 5 days prior to being admitted they sent her home. One smart nurse admitted her, she couldnt talk or walk 50% oxygen. They waited too long and because they sent her home she was too weak to fight and passed away two nights ago. Her teenage daughter went to get her belongings and I heard the nurse say have a good night like the teenagers ONLY parent had not just passed away. Dr. GREEN was the only one who actually helped but it was too late. I wish I lived there I would of demanded a REAL hospital. DO not take your loved ones there if u want them to come home.

I was there with the wife while she was getting surgery, and these people had me running around all over the hospital and I had to be in constant communication by phone in the hospital everytime I completed one of their tasks like getting her pain meds and they wouldnt bring her out until I had the Uber ready. First I had to call Uber, I called to let them know that I called the Uber, they still wouldnt bring her out and instructed me to call back when the Uber came and after the Uber came it still took them 15 minutes for them to bring her out and I had to pay a waiting fee for the Uber. So ridiculous...

I have an appointment tomorrow with a doctor. Valleywise called me to answer questions before my appointment. I was not available when they called because I work. I was nice enough to call them back to “register” for my appointment. Then when I called back they said no one was available. I was on the phone for 20 minutes waiting to get registered for my appointment! This is for a telephone appointment. I don’t understand why they cannot get the information they need without inconveniencing you at your job.

If i could give negative stars i would. My sister was transfered here from another facility. She suffered an anoxic brain injury but instead of treating her for that, they are administering her with schizophrenia meds, 4 different types to be specific. Her condition has worsened since she arrived. We are speaking to a lawyer to get her out of here as soon as possible, as they are keeping her against her will. Hospital staff are completely incompetent and rude. They should all be ashamed of themselves for working at this place. My family calls my sister daily and she is deteriorating everyday. Instead of treating her they fill her with meds so she sleeps all day. She caught covid in this facility and now has low white blood cell count. RUN FROM THIS PLACE!!

Valleywise Health has one of the nicest helpful staff! I went into the ER and was greeted with what I could tell with smiles behind there masks. They got my information and vitals quickly and amazed that there was no waiting at all to be seen by a doctor. They ran test and x-rays and within an hour or so was admitted to the hospital and was on my way to my room. The nurses and doctors were so nice and expressed their concerns and informed me all recommendations in regular language and not all the medical mombojumbo. I felt like they really cared about my care. The nursing staff was very professional and made me feel like I was a part of their family.I have been to Banner Helth and Honor Health Hospitals and hope I never get taken to those hospitals. It is now 9 am for quick lab work which was scheduled at 745 am is disrespectful. If you work in medical you should have a desire to help people verse make them feel shameful, the lack of respect is sad as you should have a desire to help people.Treat people how you wanna be treated you wanna disrespect someone and treat him like a number then continue to run the program like that but if you really want to be an out reach and help people start respecting people on truly try to help them. Care is very poor here and we need an uplift in the system and either new people or better leader ship so the community can see that you do care coming from a very liberal environment in New York knowing and seeing how system can truly ran.Again one of the worst medical systems ever but not many choices in Arizona.

I have small and deep veins and the nurses dont do ultrasounds so I had to wait a while for a doctor. Once they had an IV in me they quickly came in with medications. As he was dying they moved swiftly to get him better. Most of the Dr are students Dr Shah was lead Dr teacher. The others are soon to graduate and pursue more schooling to become specialists. I love this concept for healthcare. I tell you we have been to Banner Desert Cordon 5 times in the last 5 years and never had 1 doctor get it right or want to get it right. Not to mention the immediate appointments set for aftercare. Insurance is in the process and they treated us as if we had approval. So now my 5 stars went to 3.Everytime I come here the staff are always so nice and respectful. There are some nurses and physicians that should re-evaluate if they should be in the health care field. My son had third and forth degree burns all over his body and I listened over the phone as he screamed in agonizing pain every single day and night... especially during the night shift. His pain was not managed and they had a really hard time giving his medications on time or even close. Two hours after it’s due is not acceptable. The nurses told me that he was getting Tylenol to ease the pain and they were still waiting for the physician to give him something stronger two days after admission. Not acceptable. Tylenol are you kidding me? Then tell me that you have been so busy caring for other patients to give him medication on time. Other patients? Is he not important as well? Is he not there to receive treatment and help as well? Also, my son was discharged with an IV still in his arm. When we called to notify the hospital, the charge nurse stated that she would go to find out what took place with the nurse. Never heard from the charge nurse again that day. When we spoke to the nurse who discharged him, she just stated that she was very busy and forgot as if it was okay and normal practice. Did you document that you took out his IV upon discharge? It is not okay to leave an IV in a patients arm upon discharge. It just shows me that the type of care that he was receiving during his entire stay was not up to par. If you are not a caring person how in the world can you show compassion to others? Do you care hope you treat others? Do you value your nursing license that you worked hard to receive. Where were your communication skills? If all of the nurses were so behind, where is the teamwork? Do you not work together to try to take care of your patients, make sure their needs are met? Do you not ask for help from the charge nurse, house supervisor, director of nursing, etc... I just don’t understand why there was no compassion shown for my son during his stay? Then how many others receive horrible care from this facility? I offered his night nurse to come take care of him during the night or stay with him since I kept getting the responses from the nurses that they were so short of staff to help him. Covid or not, he’s a human being. No one deserves to be treated the way that he was treated. I hope no one else has to endure the type of treatment that he received while in this facilities care.I guess at this facility, the nurses are able to treat patients the way that they would like to without any consequences. I guess it’s okay to mistreat a person/patient when you know their family is not able to come in to monitor what’s going on due to covid. Covid should not be an excuse to mistreat people. When we bring our loved ones to a hospital, we expect for them to get treated with care, compassion, a level of problem solving skills, empathy, listening and understanding. I was so disappointed and I cried myself because I just do not understand how people of the health care industry could treat another person in that manner. It’s really sad and it’s horrible that this is the only burn center for people to receive treatment for severe burns in Arizona. I hope that their family members do not have to endure treatment such as this at a hospital. I really hope that they find better staff. Here are just some pictures of my sons burns.

Sat there for over eight hours and some people waiting were even longer !!! And every time I asked which was hours into this , I never received a straight answer just lots of attitude. If she behaves and talks to me like this and I am from San Diego, California just visiting some clients out here , then how is she treating everyone else . And soon as I was thinking this she had put a mom into tears , a mom and her 10 year old daughter that had a bad burn on her leg and was 5 minutes late for their appointment, this receptionist / secretary with the nurses uniform said sorry can’t do anything for you you are five minutes late and of course the mom pleaded but she didn’t care , the mom was in tears trying get help for her daughters leg and all this receptionist could do is throw attitude and show zero compassion and say oh well and this receptionist nurse did this in front of all of us in the waiting room! I even told the mom she could have my spot but it did not matter ! I have officially filed a formal complaint against those two people in the burn ward and asking for their immediate dismissal!!! you have no place in a hospital if you cannot show any kind of compassion and speak without a valley girl attitude!

They always take him in for his vitals real fast and is seen real fast too. There has been times when we wait a while to get discharge and our prescription at the end. Our last visit here my son had an asthma attack and the nurses and doctors here were in our room every 5 minutes checking on him. He had to stay a couple of days in the PICU and the nurses there were great as well. When they moved him to a regular room the nurse who was in charge was super nice to him and so attentive. They gave him toys they took him to a play area and had a clown visit him. I can not express how well our experience went for us. They made sure my son was well enough to go back home. Regardless of the pokes and yucky medicine my son said he receive he always says he wants to go back to see the nice people at this hospital. If i could remember all the names I would name them all, thanks for the awesome care!!

I would be long dead by now, 10+ years ago, for being county hospital this is the best hospital by far. NO EXCEPTIONS. I had brain surgery, even with a bunch of people in training, they are still #1. Horrible horrible horrible service. Went to ER, It took 4-5 hours in waiting room, then patient was taken to another room to wait for another 1-2 hrs, then got a bed. Patient went in with extreme abdominal pain and was only give antibiotics-nausea medicine (no IV fluid’s, asked for any liquid and was never given any!). They wanted to test urine but not given any fluids. Spent 8hrs there to get “You need to follow up with primary care”. Visiting from Washington, worst care ever! Doctor also didn’t know between a milligram and a gram. Also doctor finally took labs after insisting for more studies, and he said they looked great (when some numbers are higher than normal). We also have VERY good insurance. Degree from a cracker box!!!

So horrible! I’m am horrified! My mother is just now telling me how she is being treated by a dr that works in the 2525 E Roosevelt building. She has been having problems for years with her health and know one can seem to figure out what is wrong with her, but to have a dr tell you; you are no longer our concern cause there’s bigger problems to be dealt with is just disgusting! She’s been depressed, neglected and just giving up on life for the past 2 weeks all cause these comments that where made by someone that should make us feel like there’s hope left. I definitely will be contacting the Arizona’s Medical board.

The staff is amazing, they provide excellent patient care while working under extremely stressful circumstances. The institution itself is corrupt and cares more about revenue stats than the patients they serve. As an ex employee reporting fraud, discrimination, and unethical behavior, upper management and HR were of no help. They only helped in assisting in the cover up of the thug like behaviour of its morally void management.

Years ago this was a great hospital. Since the take over it became a nightmare. Staff is extremely self righteous. Lord help you if social services tries to help (???) you. They interject themselves into all aspects of your life without consent from the patient. They try to completely take over every part of your life. I would not send my worst enemy there!

Thank you to everyone that worked on February 22, 2019. At around 1 AM. You guys rock!I went to Abrazo first, because it’s in my neighborhood. If I hadn’t sought better treatment. I may have ended up with an infection. Abrazo, should have referred me to the burn unit in the first place.Anyway, I am thoroughly impressed with the 10 people that work at the Maricopa County Burn Unit. They are tucked away in an old corridor of the emergency room wing. An area that’s never been remodel like the rest of the hospital, and looks like the 1950s with new technology. First they were excited to see me! They were so empathetic, humorous, patient and caring. They took the time to treat my wounds appropriately, while educating me on proper care in the process. I don’t think I’ve ever scene or experienced this type of care before. The only thing that sucked in the process was having my skin scrape. Which should’ve been done the first time.

I loved the cash pricing deal that they have for those uninsured! Thats why its not a one star. But as far as professionalism and genuine care for a person, its a zero. Perhaps theyre under pressure but nobody can answer simple questions they literally say I dont know and then proceed to stay silent in hopes that well hang up or leave. At 38 weeks my wife and I went for a checkup, they were supposed to check the cervix and answer our questions so and get information, however they were more concerned with getting to their two other patients.

The EMS Crew brought us here for my 19 month old son who had burned his legs on hot soup. I thought it quite far from the city of Surprise, and now I know why. We received top notch care in the Burn Unit. All the nurses were VERY kind and caring. They explained things thoroughly, and even let me video them while they taught us how to dress his wounds. We went back for our follow up visit, and the day crew was just as great as the night crew. The directions were again clear, kind, and empowering. Not that I wish this on anyone, but if you need help with burns, this is the place to come.

Worst birthing experience ever!!😓 10 months ago I gave birth to second baby here. I still get emotional thinking about what happened. The doctors were trying to have me sign papers after I was already drugged up so that if they needed to they could take me into an emergency c section. I never wanted to have a c section because I knew that I could do without. I did do it without a c section. The first set of nurses I had were wonderful and made sure they did everything they could to get me to deliver naturally the doctors not so much. The doctor who delivered my child shoved her whole hand into my womb which I thought was weird and uncomfortable.I did not want that to happen, I did not like it. I was thankful that the nurse was there that night and she was there when I delivered my baby,I was kind of happy. I think she stayed a little longer than her shift . But soon after I gave birth she left and a shift change happened another two nurses came, one was nice she had kids of her own and the other didn’t have kids of her own and was not compassionate at all. I just gave birth and the epidural hadn’t worn off yet and she was trying to have me walk and I couldn’t yet and I kept telling her my legs are numb, I can’t and she started to get very frustrated with me. She then started to push and pull me and try to force me onto the special maternity knee wheelchair. I am a very determined person so I was trying to get up and so I started to think I was permanently paralyzed or something because she told me that I should be able to get up.I completely broke down in tears because I felt absolutely helpless and emotionally and physically abused from her pushing and pulling me and making me feel less than a human. She gave up and said well if you don’t get up I’m going to have to shove a catheter to get the pee out and it’s going to hurt. It didn’t hurt because the epidural hadn’t worn off from my lower body as I was telling her. I was not being dramatic and she thought I was I wanted her out of the room because she made me feel so uncomfortable. I was crying for so long because I felt like I wasn’t going to be able to walk again I felt like maybe they did my epidural wrong but no it was just the nurse giving me a hard time and the whole time I was crying she kept asking me questions.I kept asking for one of the doctors so she could just get out ,that was a nightmare I still get sad from even thinking about it. I definitely would not recommend this hospital for anything.

So almost a week and half ago my S.O was admitted to this stupid hospital. They mistreated him and held him there against his will. He had stated he wanted to leave because he didn’t feel safe there because of the way he was being treated and what did they do? Oh well they said no one could visit him anymore because his visitors were telling the staff that they wanted better treatment. By far the worst hospital I have ever been to. I would give them no stars but unfortunately that’s not an option, while we were there before they banned him from having visitors and drugged him, we tried to work with the staff to get better treatment. I guess this place doesn’t do well with people speaking up with the mistreatment of patients. Beware if you do speak up because they will most likely kick you out and threaten you be arrested with your newborn. So unprofessional and well let’s just say after talking to more 7 individuals there is nothing they were able to do to correct the issue and we will be looking in another direction for it.

LONG STORY SHORT, dont go here! They refuse to treat the patient and if the patient is in pain and happens to even raise their voice they throw them out. My husband will probably end up back in an ER later tonight. My husband was seen here earlier this evening for CRPS. Its considered to be the most painful affliction known to man. He was in the middle of a flare up and needed medication that had ran out a couple days early. He was brought in an ambulance it was so severe. He was given one pill after having to wait in their hallway for nearly an hour while all the staff joked and gossiped, never bothering to check on him. When it was apparent that one pill was not enough and he was still writhing and screaming in pain they still never bothered to check on him. I asked them if they could give him another dose or do it in a shot as had been done at other hospitals in the past. They pretty much said theyd check, but it looked like they were getting ready to discharge him. Even though he was by this time in worse shape than when he came in. I started recording video of the Dr. as she said her hands were tied and they had to discharge him. She said she had another patient to attend to and would come back to discuss it. Apparently she sent the cops in to tell us there was a policy that I wasnt allowed to record and we had to leave.

The Dr at the emergency room did nothing for my son but send him home and tell him to take the same medication I bought him. Then one of their walk in clinics did the same thing and a Dr at a different office through the same hospital. Now my son has stage 4 stomach cancer !!! Why dont your Drs look beyond just what they think is going on?? Not 1 xray or ultrasound!!! I would never bring another family member here.#YOURERDRFAILEDMYSON

Terrible billing department. Make sure you keep all records including receipt that you paid your copay. ! went there once in Aug 2012 to see Dr Breburda. I paid my copay at time of visit and my insurance company paid them the balance. In 2013 I received an invoice demanding payment again. I submitted proof of payment and didnt hear from them. However in Feb 2015 I received a demand for payment from a collection agency. This required me to dig into my old records for the proof a second time. Ill also need to pull my credit report and dispute incorrect negative information if they or the collection agency reports to the bureaus.

The receptionists were unprofessional I stood about 5 minutes while one was having conversation with the person ahead of me while the other one was on the phone. Very disappointed and disgusted!1) Im sharing a room with someone that needs assistance going to and from the bathroom (not the problem). What I take issue with is the a fact that the nurse who helps her out of the restroom neglected to clean up her very obvious blood droplets all over the floor, not to mention the very obvious mess she leaves on the toilet seat.2) My own nurse, who told me shes coming down with something is....1. Drawing my blood for labs as her nose was literally dripping snot 2. Uses my pillow to stabilize my arm (not the problem) and gets blood on it and tells me its okay, its not much and expected me to still use it, instead of changing the pillowcase. I literally had to go get one myself.3) My own nurse suggested that I walk up and down the hallway (not the problem). I walked up and down the halls a few times during the night. During one of my walks I did for 30 mins, I found my nurse passed out at her desk for 26 mins. I know it was 26 mins because another patient activated the nurse call button while I was walking and she slept through it. Another nurse had to clear the alert and said weird, it says holding for 26 min. I also know she was passed out because I waved my hand in front of her face and she had zero reaction.4) My own nurse, not even 5 mins later, was literally sleeping while standing in the middle of the nurses station. She only woke up because I asked her if she was doing okay.Apparently MIHS takes zero issue with paying their nurses to sleep on the job. How in the hell do you expect me to trust her to perform her duties when shes half awake during her shift!? We put our lives in their hands!!

I am sitting on the 5th floor Medical ICU furious, and I am glad I am here. If I were to leave my sister in the care of these night nurses and doctors shed probably be dead. She has a fever and there was nothing but unnecessary loud noises directly outside her curtain. Not including the other people rushed in. I overheard nurses make sarcastic remarks about their jobs, laughing and giggling EXTREMELY LOUD at 1 in the morning. I went home to change and came back and my sister told me she never got dinner. She was starving. She was also in extreme pain and when I went to get a nurse her excuse was oh her meds is just about due. Which in fact was an hour overdue according to my calculations. So sat wipping my sisters tears and feeding her ice to keep her cool. A nurse never came a flipped my sister around I had to do it myself. Which shes been confined to a bed for 5 days now. Just got off a breathing tube, has not left the bed and has been complaining her back was hurting not ONCE did anyone try to come turn her. She was so delirious and right when I would get her settled and sleeping. Id hear the trash can slam outside her door purposefully after I had made a stink about my sister not getting food. Oh and my favorite part was the fact that I am watching her blood pressure rise and not a single person came and looked. An alarm would go off they would walk in press a button and go back to their conversation in the back. Eventually they turned it off. I dont need my sister to get special treatment, but while she is here Id expect her to at least check if shes breathing. Which the scary thing is she kept pulling on her oxygen tank and when I tried to get her to stop she said I cant breathe.
