Oh, first thing I noticed is the smell is fantastic. You can tell it’s a very clean establishment .If you have chronic (or even just some acute) pain and want to try medical massage as a pain management route, I highly recommend the Philadelphia massage studio. he plays relaxing music with a Bose sound system. You can tell he really cares about his patients. Their massage therapists are all great at what they do and can offer significant benefits. Beware though - this isnt a massage place for a girls spa day or something. These are pretty deep tissue-style massages so you will feel sore/tender for a day or two after your first visit. However, if youve had pain thats impacted your ability to perform day-to-day tasks, this place is amazing. William is fantastic at what he does.

Ive only gone to see Bill a handful of times when my shoulder starts flaring up - my shoulder is always making cracking noises and the aching extends to my left pec and right shoulder blade because of it. Im always so grateful I can quickly book an appointment because usually by the time I do, the pain is really uncomfortable and Bill does an amazing job at loosening my shoulder up, so much so that I probably dont go to him as much as I should because the sessions give me substantial relief. Im going to try my best to come more often so we can, at some point, move beyond just working on my left shoulder for the entire time haha. Thanks Bill!

My lower back has been hurting so I decided to try a massage. I submitted a contact form and was called within 20 mins which was awesome. I set up an appointment, then the time had to get changed to later which was not a problem. The problem is I arrived at 7:20 for my 7:30 appointment to a building that looked like it was an apartment building the blinds for the first floor apartment were open so you could see it was definitely not a massage studio. I called and texted a handful of times with no answer. I waited until about 7:45 called again and then eventually just left. I get things get crazy and people get busy but don’t set up the appointment if you can’t keep it. Bare minimum answer the phone abd communicate that. Very disappointed in this whole experience

I have gone to Bill in the past and his massages were some of the best Ive ever had. The first time I had an appointment with him was for my birthday & the massage was unmatched. So I took my girlfriend with me to his studio the next time and once again the massages were awesome. This guy was so good I wanted to make this a bi-weekly thing or at least monthly. Im an athlete so having someone like Bill available is everything. Well the last couple of times Ive scheduled with him (he confirms said appointment), he has ghosted me. I get there about 5-10 mins early...I wait outside past my appointment time for 30-40 mins each time...try texting, calling, today I was close to knocking on some doors to get my appointment in.Long story short...zero response. Youre probably wondering why I wait so long for him to respond when its clear he is not going to respond. Well I drive about 25-30mins to get to him and I dont get these massages for pleasure but to relieve a pain Im currently dealing with. So its important to me & my livelihood. Hence me getting to my appointment on time & trying as hard as I can to get in contact with him. Needless to say he never answered any of my calls, text messages, or voicemails. I did see that after I sent him a bunch of text messages that he read my texts and just decided to not respond. So I asked him if there was any reason why when I would schedule an appointment with him that he continuously ghosts me.He responding saying he was going through some things and would be willing to reschedule with me for half the cost. The problem here is not that he is going through things at all. The problem is ghosting clients. Ppl that are seeking your help that could make or break their well-being. Why not call and cancel the appointment? Text and cancel? Why make the customer believe they have an appointment and hide from giving said service that was scheduled? I dont get it and its a terrible way to treat ppl. Its selfish and I will never do business here again. Having a skillset is great, but treating ppl less then what they deserve or are worth is just as low as you can get.Honestly I wish I could give this guy zero stars considering the gas I wasted attempting his service twice & being ghosted

Incredible therapist. I have been in pain for weeks and tried many other massages and therapies and William is the only one who relieved me of my pain. Very very grateful to him. Great listener, instilled trust he could tackle my problems, and he followed through. Many thanks William!!

5.0 star ratingI highly recommend giving Philadelphia Massage Studio a try... I know the difference between a good massage, an average massage and a bad massage, and let me tell you, this was an EXCELLENT massage!Bill at Philadelphia Massage Studio is TOP NOTCH! He is engaging and attentive to your needs throughout the massage and is incredibly knowledgeable in his profession. And to boot, he has developed this personal technique that seems to be a miracle cure for super stressed and jacked up muscles .To top off the quality of the massage, the price(s) are insanely reasonable and the hours and flexibility of scheduling a appointment are great.

Okay, lets cut right to the chase: MAKE AN APPOINTMENT HERE as soon as possible and go, especially if youre in pain [but hopefully before it gets to that point!] Billy was the therapist who did the massage when I made my first appointment. I was referred to Billy originally by my boss. What a lifesaver! He really knows what hes doing, is passionate about his profession and really cares about his patients. He listens well, isnt arrogant, is down-to-earth, funny and a nice guy. And his technique doesnt hurt. I repeat, it doesnt hurt. And, in the way of overall body I swear, I could tell a difference in my mental functioning while the massage was going on. Billy understands all of the ins and outs and can explain or answer any questions you have about your issues. Go here and your life will be changed for the better!!

I have had many massages in my day, but I subscribed to a groupon for Philadelphia Massage Studio, and gave it a try. I have never felt better. I had neck pain and always had a headache. I now get a massage from Bill every 3 weeks to 4 weeks, and I will continue to do so. I FEEL Great. He has a nice, clean studio, but most of all he KNOWS what he is doing. None of this feather touch, as I call it, but a deep tissue massage for the price of a Swedish massage. Great job, Bill, keep it up. See you soon.

I recently moved to Philadelphia and very glad to have found Bill. He’s exceptionally good and I felt immediate relief after getting a massage from him (his trigger point approach is fantastic). I have been getting massages routinely for the past ten years and find him to be among the very best therapsists I’ve had. Dag

I really debated writing this review because I dont want to interfere with someone s livelihood but on the other hand Im out $118 for the worst massage I have experienced.I actually reached out because of all the high reviews for this massage therapist. I really question those reviews because of my bizarre experience.Im willing to look past the cramped studio space, the music that cut out when he received text messages and even the loud rock music. Ive never had a massage therapist play rock but thats not why Im giving one star.Im giving one star because honestly, I think he was under the influence. He fell asleep a frequently during my massage, I even asked him one time if he feel asleep when my massage paused and I saw his eyes closed. He denied it. This happened many more times throughout the massage. Most of the massage was one handed and weak. Also he didnt use any oil until the very end. After he answered his cell phone for his next incoming client he perked up and the last 5 minutes was the best part of the massage. If youre wondering why I stayed the whole time, so am I. I was hoping it would get better and also embarrassed to ask him to stop so I could leave.I dont doubt that hes an amazing therapist at times, per all the other reviews people swear by him. He seemed spacey and obviously tired. This was my experience and it was honestly so bizarre. I just wanted to post to maybe save someone some money.

This was my first time getting a massage. I was really nervous and I honestly didnt what to expect. But once I actually met with bill (my masseur), I was put at ease. He was very welcoming and friendly, before the massage started, he explained what was going to happen. I was comfortable the whole time (something I didnt expect for my first massage), The massage was great! I dont remember the whole massage, because I fell asleep, but I do remember I felt great afterwards. All the tension and stiffness had gone. Ill most diffidently will be coming back again, its affordable enough for me to get massages on a regular.

You will not find a more thorough, empathetic, or talented massage therapist than Bill, owner of Philadelphia Massage Studio. I have suffered from chronic pain on the right side of my body for a year and a half. After unsuccessful physical therapy & chiropractic treatments, I was finally able to find relief after a long session with Bill.Bills style is extremely unique. Unlike other massage therapists, once he identifies an uncomfortable trigger point, he will not stop until he traces the pain back to its root and provides relief. Before visiting Bill, I could not sit in a chair longer than 15 minutes without the right side of my body going partially numb. As of today, I am pain free and can only thank Bill for the service he provided. Thank you for the wonderful experience. I look forward to visiting again. 8/19/17.

I came in with wrist pain from wrist tendinitis and learned of the interconnected nature of that pain - neck, scapula, arm, and hand work were done which took the pressure off the area in my wrist giving me pain and i felt an immediate difference after the appointment. I was skeptical at first, given that someone other than my doctor recommended this to me - but it works!

Billy is unique.  I have been to too many bodyworkers/massage therapists and what-not in the attempts to get my shoulder working properly again.  Most of my sessions ended in massive disappointment as, after 2-3 days, the temporary relief disappated and the pain and dysfunctionality set in again.  This has been near 90% of my experience in massage therapy and body work.My shoulder has been through so much trauma, I cant even begin to tell you.  After the surgery, I thought everything would eventually be fine, but it wasnt.  I still had problems firing my triceps, still had pain in my shoulder, and still had dysfunctionality.  Thus it was with some trepidation that I decided to seek out a massage therapist again(trying to avoid the emotional highs and lows). My suprise was two fold with Billy; first, he actually listens to what I am saying.  I hate to say it, but that has been a rarity for me with massage therapists.  Too many want to stick to their system and work from my feet up.  It never, ever worked.  Second, he was one of the first therapists to actually see what was happening in my shoulder.  This is also unique because most therapists couldnt see what, to me, was fairly obvious.  Not only was Bill able to see it, but he also knew how to go about it.
