Dr Cherella went above and beyond what doctors do. My husband had ALS for 11 years before passing. He came once a month to our home. My husband was on a ventilator, and s feeding tube. He kindness and gentleness was so comforting. My family all have been going to him for years, he is the best of the best. South Philadelphia loves him. You can tell from listening to the conversations in his office. Definitely a 5 Star Podiatrist!

Dr. Cherella treated me for an issue I was having. The treatment I opted for was a topical one as opposed to pill form. I knew that this would take much longer to cure, but my visits were quick and I was making good progress. Dr. Cherella has a nice bedside manner and thanks to his care the problem has cleared up.

My husband and I have been patients of Dr. Cherella for over 5 years and he is the best.Anytime that I had a foot problem, his staff made it a point to get me a quick appointment. He is pleasant and friendly and knowledgeable in his field. You never have to worry about pain, as he makes sure that you are comfortable and relaxed.I have recommended Dr. Cherella to my friends.

Dr Cherella has a pleasant personality and is flexible regarding scheduling. However he gives the impression that he is a PENN doctor which he is not. He also does not tell you the entire story and blames the patient for his failure to cure. The treatment that he uses is outdated. He gave us the impression that it would take 4 to 6 weeks to heal . Now 5 months later, we decided to get another opinion. His behavior was unprofessional. He refused to release medical records in writing. He decided to call the new provider, and make nasty comments about the patient. He was told not to call, but did so anyways. This is against HIPPA guidelines. He is unable to work with patients lifestyle and consider other alternatives to care.

I had a terrible experience with Dr. Cherella approximately 14-15 years ago. I went into surgery for correction of a minor bunion but when i came out I found that the work that was done was much more extensive. In addition to the bunionectomy, Dr. Cherella had also completely removed the middle joint in my second toe, next to the big toe where he would be working on the bunion (this joint removal was obviously unauthorized by me) and he also had to place a pin in it which made recovery much lengthier and more challenging than I had planned for (much more pain, had to use crutches, etc). When I questioned why and what happened he told me he had to do it to correct a hammer toe (I did not have a hammer toe) because the toe would not have sat correctly after the bunionectomy. At the time I didnt even think to question what he was telling me, but I later realized (as did other people) that he must have made a mistake and started by operating on the wrong toe - this was at Delaware County Hospital. After that surgery, not only was a perfectly healthy joint missing from my toe but the toe was obviously shorter and would not sit flat properly. Dr. Cherella said he could try to release the ligament to drop it a bit but that I might be left with a droopy toe. I decided against it and for a while just lived with it and was very embarrassed by how it looked (still am to this day). Since then Ive had two corrective surgeries by another podiatric surgeon who has done all he can to try to help the situation, but I am now left with a toe that is considerably shorter and significantly disfigured. I guess Dr. Cherella was trying to protect himself from a lawsuit but, to this day, I wonder how he was able to just lie to me like that and still sleep at night. Obviously a very terrible experience for me.
