Ive been working with Nick for about 5 months now for nutrition and strength training, and I would highly recommend him to anyone looking for a fitness or nutrition coach.Nick is extremely dedicated and he is always 100% present and focused on me when I train with him. He made me feel totally comfortable with starting a workout program when I first met with him. I had never worked with a trainer before-or seriously worked out at all- and Nick set up a program for me that emphasized proper form and technique and slowly and safely transitioned me into more intense exercise as I was ready for it. He is also flexible and able to quickly adjust an exercise if it isnt working for me. Our nutrition sessions are just as educational, and I thought I knew enough about how my diet was contributing to my body composition before we started working together; turns out that wasnt the case at all!Nick is very down-to-earth, personable, and easy to talk to. He has always made me feel confident and he helps me to keep my goals clear and in check. Hes a great guy, and what I respect about him the most is that he is constantly on a mission to enhance his knowledge so that he can apply it to his work.

Nick has been a colleague of mine for over 5 years now. He is by far one of the most knowledgeable, hard-working, passionate fitness professionals I have ever met. He has this constant thirst to help his clients lead healthier lifestyles. His attention to detail and ability to really listen to his clients, sets him a part from the others. Great trainers take an individualized approach to programming and analyze exercises in order to be successful; Nick does this consistently. I highly recommend Nick to anyone who is looking to hire a trainer!!!

I’ve been training with Nick since late 2014. It’s no exaggeration to say our work together has changed not only how I look, but how I see myself. I am stronger, more confident and accepting of what I once considered flaws. As our work has progressed I have been better able to refine my goals and go for them. His programs and sessions are packed with a wealth of knowledge and experience. But more importantly is he is a skilled communicator (and poetic about squats!). The combination makes for an excellent coach.

Rarely do you encounter someone so invested in anything... let alone you! If youre looking for the best person to help you get and stay in shape, youve found him. Good luck, get fit!

Nick has spent countless hours researching fitness and overall wellness. Beyond the research, Nick has put his findings into practice on his own body, showing outstanding results. There are many trainers in the Philly/NJ area, most of which spent a weekend at a seminar and received a cert as a trainer. That is not meant to disrespect these individuals. If you want results, go with someone that has dedicated years of his life to the study and practice of fitness. That is NIck.

Ive known Nick for years, and one of my favorite things about him is his welcoming and affable nature. Not only is he a knowledgable and helpful fitness coach and trainer, hes a good guy. Thats rare. With Nicks advice, Ive lost about 30 pounds, my abs are showing for the first time in a decade, and my girlfriend tells me Ive never looked better. As a result of Nicks advice, my own personal fitness is becoming the best its ever been. I casually ran a half marathon yesterday, and Im running the full Philadelphia Marathon in a month. Personable and understanding personal trainers are difficult to find. I could not recommend Nick to you enough, hes one of a kind and hes earned my trust. Hell earn yours too.

When I first started training with Nick, I had no idea what my actual goal was. I just knew how to start and it was to contact Nick. He assessed my deadlift; he studied my squat; he got me to feel my lats contract for the first time ever! My body became the most beautiful body Ive ever had before. But, what I reflect on most frequently is what Nick has done with my relationship with food. He dissected it, analyzed it, and then gave me the tools to stitch it back together again, but this time, into something I wanted it to be. I thank Nick for being patient with me and I thank him for his knowledge and craft. He always genuinely cared about my health and fitness endeavors, even through my ambivalence.

Nick is a great observer and diagnostician. He listens and understands how and how much to push me to achieve my best, which has been much more than I thought I was capable of. By the end of a typical workout, I am sweating heavily and winded, and I feel great. Week after week, I am able to do a bit more than I was before. While he is quite serious, Nick is also a lot of fun to work with. I recommend him very highly.

I spent about 10 years working as a personal trainer/strength coach, and now that Ive changed careers, I trust nick with any help I need reaching my fitness and health goals. Dude is not only a positive and helpful force, (compared to the hordes of trainers in Philly whom you grow to dread visiting after just a few sessions), but his knowledge and passion for training is among the best in the business worldwide. I feel truly lucky to count on him when it comes to my health. Thanks Nick, but also I hate you for 6/12/25 sets.

My wife & I trained with Nick leading up to and after our wedding, not only hoping to lose a few pounds before our wedding, but also hoping to have some healthy habits beyond. Our experience with Nick blew away those expectations. Nick is extremely engaged and develops a personalized plan to attack your goals with the vigor and intensity required to achieve them, then follows through in individual meetings to maintain that progress with a focus on teaching to develop a self-sustaining habit, as opposed to chasing the quick fix. Nick is highly invested in your results - he keeps perspective on how the workouts are impacting you, and what next steps would be useful to incorporate into your training program. Finally, Nicks holistic view of fitness combined with nutrition was the most important piece for my wife & I to progress our fitness goals over time. The holistic focus was what truly pushed us over the edge in achieving those goals and sustaining progress throughout the program.Nicks positive encouragement and personal commitment to our personal progress is something that we truly appreciate and proves why he is a fantastic trainer and well-deserving of all the accolades hes received!

I had the pleasure of training with Nick both with his fitness as well as nutrition program. Nick is great because he really instills and insists on having a good foundation in all aspects of healthy living. He does not rush into the program, or force any of his personal biases on you. His approach is definitely more so to guide you than instruct. I specifically remember, because I would often refer to him as a physical trainer, and he would correct me by saying he is a coach, since I (the client) is the one in charge of the path I want to take.Although it may be difficult because some may go into a fitness program wanting to be told what to do, but Nick gives you the autonomy to make your own decisions during your journey. Hes a great encourager, and even with someone like myself with a completely blank slate as far as fitness, he never made me feel bad about how COMPLETELY out of shape I was lol. He stresses positive reinforcement, which makes a huge difference on how you view your progress.I learned a ton about nutrition and fitness through Nick. He has so much knowledge on both topics and he is constantly learning more. I would definitely recommend him to anyone. Nick has an amazing energy and it comes out in your first session, and even more so as our program continued.

Nick Deacon is a mad scientist of fitness. I dont consider myself someone who exaggerates, so let me explain why I made such a seemingly hyperbolic statement. I have known Nick for the better part of 8 years now, and at no point in those eight have I known him not to be considering some aspect of the body or mind. It seemed to start off with forms and techniques for lifting properly while simultaneously getting the most benefit from your efforts. From there, he started to study and read about biochemistry and how much diet impacts your body and mind. Lately, we have talked about meditation and the benefits of outlook and intentions. Every bit of information Nick receives seems to get filtered through his way of seeing how to help others improve themselves physically and mentally. And Nicks enthusiasm is infectious; he will realign your perceptions if you allow him. I still think of his instructions when I unrack the bar for my first set of squats - and I havent worked out with him since...2014ish. Tutelage such as this, which is Nicks stock in trade, is truly invaluable. Cant recommend him highly enough...and like I said - if not in so many words - it isnt hyperbole if its true.

What I loved in our interactions was that Nick has such an inquisitive nature. This is someone who will go to the greatest lengths to figure out how to move well. Hes introduced me to schools of thought Id never heard about: postural restoration institute, neurokinetic therapy, neuromuscular dynamic stabilization, etc. etc. Want to reset your body before a workout? All Ill say is that it involves arching your back and blowing on a balloon. I used to have issues with my shoulders doing kettlebell goblin squats. To this day Im using Nicks cues on how to hold a kettlebell. I used to not think about breathing patterns or jaw clenching. Now I know how they relate to correct body mechanics. I used to feel my knees doing swiss ball leg curls. Then Nick showed me how to stabilize my body with one leg while the other leg moves. When it comes to safely gaining muscle, I cannot think of anyone better than Nick.
