Dr. Nichols gets the job done without wasting your time with useless exercises. Every exercise is deliberately designed to address your problem. He also very provides self-regulating feedback for when you’re doing too much so there is no guessing. Dr. Nichols is an amazing PT specialist who listens to you and customize very specialized exercises to you. Prior to seeing him, I had a year of general PT sessions, but my symptoms simply wouldn’t go away. I was still having a lot of pain and a sensation of ants crawling on my arms. Dr. Nichols carefully asked me about its onset and hypothesized that a particular muscle was over worked; and because it was never strengthened by the exercises from my general PT, it got stuck in this vicious loop that never gets better. Combined with dry needling and some particular exercises, the ants crawling sensation never came back! Although I am not fully recovered at this moment, this is incredible recovery and I will definitely recommend him to anyone who doesn’t recover well from regular PT sessions.

Dr Nichols is an attentive and knowledgeable physical therapist. He made me feel very comfortable from the moment I set up the appointment, and I could tell that he takes the time and extra effort to get to know his patients and their specific concerns. The visits are problem-focused, never rushed, and very useful in terms of understanding my body. Everyone could benefit from a doctor as caring and invested in his patients.

Dr. Nichols is excellent. He sorted through my symptoms and gave me a routine to follow every day with noticeable improvements after a few weeks. He guided me through the process with realistic expectations and helped me to be more aware of how I use my body. I would recommend him to anyone!

I was diagnosed with multiple herniated discs in my neck, requiring fusion surgery through the front of my neck and the insertion of hardware and screws. The pain radiating down my arm was debilitating.I was devastated about the prospect of the surgery and the risks and the chances of future problems from it.I searched for a second opinion. No one was optimistic. Multiple orthopedic surgeons would just wince when they saw my cervical MRI.The only medical professional that showed any optimism was Chris Keating. He took one look at my MRI and said “I’ve seen worse. We can help you.”After just a few visits and some at home exercises, the pain disappeared. Now two years later I am still without pain and fully functional.

Dr. Nichols has helped me with long standing back pain. He is thoughtful, patient centered, and holistic in his approach. His model of 1:1 care is unlike any other place you will go. No sharing your therapist while they work with other people. No PT assistants. Dr. Nichols considers the whole picture and makes a huge difference in less time!

I scheduled an evaluation appointment with Dr. Nichols for a lower back and hip issue Ive been having for years after being referred by my sister. I have tried many forms of physical therapy prior to my visit with no solution found. Dr. Nichols helped diagnose my problem from the core of the issue and gave me a TON of helpful information to help better understand my pain and discomfort, which I didnt feel I received at previous physical therapists. I really felt like he was there to help, rather than just throw a bunch of exercises at me and say here, do this. I will be continuing to visit Dr. Nichols for my physical ailments! Hes given me a very personalized idea of how to tackle this, and I recommend him to anyone and everyone seeking a more personal plan for their physical ailments!

I cant say enough positive things about working with Dr. Nichols. I have had chronic back and neck pain for a few years and have been through the gamut of physical therapists, holistic remedies, massage therapists etc etc. Dr. Nichols was able to target my main problem areas within our first visit and significantly decreased my pain in just one week. He is very knowledgeable, patient and able to answer any question I have regarding my pain. He uses a variety of techniques that I have not seen before and I look forward to continuing to work with him. So glad to have found him!

Chris helped me figure out why my knee was in so much pain, and gave me exercises not only to support my knee while it healed, but to also help counteract the way my body was compensating for my recent limping. I left my first appointment with so much relief because I knew I was in really good hands!

Dr Nichols has been helping me deal with a chronic internal scarring problem that has been causing me significant discomfort for a number of years now. In our sessions, he has been utilizing dry needling and other myofascial release techniques to help break up adhesions and mobilize the soft tissue around it. His efforts have resulted in significant improvement in my symptoms, much more so than I have achieved from working with countless other conventional PT Practices around the Delaware Valley.Dr Nichols approach to physical therapy has been key for me - his focus on individualized attention with private 1-on-1 sessions is crucial to formulating an effective therapy plan for unusual cases like mine where the most appropriate treatment options are not readily obvious.Besides the considerable knowledge and skill he brings to the table, Dr Nichols is as down-to-earth as they come. He is always approachable and patient, listens well, and has a great sense of humor. If you are not satisfied with the results youve gotten from other Physical Therapy practices where you are forced to compete for your therapists attention with a bunch of other patients they are seeing at the same time, consider giving Ascend Orthopaedics a try. The undivided attention, expertise and care you get with a physical therapist like Dr Nichols might be exactly what you need.
