I went to Prism and I can say it’s a 50/50 effort . What you put into the program is what you will get out of the program. There are some great staff and some mediocre. There is a new management put in place and working on new things to improve for future students .

I know a person whose currently attending the program, I want to know, what are the qualifications to get into the LPN program, because she’s using a fake high school diploma with fake transcripts, to attend the program. My thing is, the school is supposed to do their diligence in looking people backgrounds. She has her family and friends imitating professional entities, like an example the school calls whom ever is on her application that she’s using a reference for, and when the school calls that number, the person of the other line is like, yes, I know so and so, she attended my school, and so on and so forth. But every thing that person is saying is a lie, how can the school accept a application and not go through the proper channels to make sure their not accepting fake application. Mind you, she been in the school for almost 1 1/2 years now.

This school’s zoom teaching during the pandemic has been a complete mess! This place gets you to the last semester and fails people over and over because they weren’t prepared from the second semester! I feel very sorry four the students that go here because teaching on zoom and working on manaquins is not a proper way to train a nurse. Without hands-on in person clinical it’s very difficulty for the students to grasp the concepts. The teaching of the nursing courses Is actually done by reading power points to them and that’s it! There’s no helpful Counseling on how to get through these tests there’s no guidance! I can’t understand why they can’t look at the test that they’re giving and give test prep questions on their subjects but the teacher said that requires her to do more work and she’s not doing it ! She said and I quote it’s time for all of you to get off the training wheels! What kind of support person trying to get students through a pandemic teaching situation would talk to them Like that! tutoring consist of the exact same thing zoom classes making you bring to them what you don’t understand instead of them helping you grasp the concepts of the things that you are failing! Person after person keeps saying I’m failing and failing and failing and they’re doing nothing but collecting money hoping for the next semester to come along and they can collect more money but not change anything ! these reviews on this site are serious issues that need to be addressed. I feel duped I’m sure most of the other students Do too! this was a total letdown I understand the pandemic closed for different schooling situations but my God reading from a PowerPoint is not teaching! Yes anybody could do that my 15-year-old daughter could do that! There’s a difference between the nurse and the nurse teacher. These teachers may be very good nurses but majority of them are not very good teachers and without that there’s no way that these students will pass.

Long story short RUN as far away from this place as you can. Now for the long story. Called to inquire about the LPN program. I went in to find out more info. As soon as I walked in a was asked for a copy of my ID. I asked for what and the lady at the desk told me with an attitude that it is for my file. My file? Im not even enrolled yet. Why would someone let someone else copy their ID all willy nilly? Then I thought I was going to be able to speak to Matt Hamilton and ask plenty of questions but what I got was a meeting with him and another perspective student. He gave the car sales pitch the whole time. Talking bad about former employees and just rushing it. I know 2 former students and 1 current student. All have told me the same thing To STAY AWAY. They have told me of several problems they have had a wish they never went there. Anyway I let him finish because at this point I am observing him, his body language and his agenda. The whole thing just gave me a bad gut feeling. For the price you pay, mediocre education, lack of professionalism and horrible classroom environment I suggest you go elsewhere or just go straight to nursing school all together. You cant say you havent been warned.

Beware! Matt Hamilton Is obnoxious and VERY unprofessional!!!!! He’s very pushy, conniving and evil to say the least. I already had a bad feeling about the school because of how long it took just to get through for information. When I met with Matt all he did was talk about how bad the schools reputation is and was but since has changed because of him.(Lies) He harassed me to take the teas test when I wasn’t ready And basically tried to force me to attend this train wreck. Long story short I had a family emergency and like other reviews he texts me application closed. He went on to be sarcastic in the text and blocked me so I couldn’t reply. This was definitely a sign from god For me to keep it pushing. His actions show that this school does not values its students and looks at potential students as just a check. They don’t care about anyone after they get your money. Stay away or find another establishment that takes pride in what they stand for.

I highly do not recommend this place and if you need to get into a LPN program and need night class go to the NJ campus. The DON very rude and gives mixed messages for no reason. They are only about the money and the teachers really do not care. Some will try and definitely help. At the end its your money and you have the material so do what you must to pass the course and program. But I still believe the NJ campus is way better. I live in Philadelphia and I do not recommend this school or campus. Very very horrible organization.

Was on my way to take the TEAS test for the lpn program here while Matthew called me while I was driving and my phone dropped so I pulled over and saw a text from Matt Hamilton saying “LOL- nice hang up! Your application for here is officially closed” in other words he’s not accepting me into the program because he accused me of hanging up on him? So unprofessional and doesn’t have factual information?! Would you really want to go to a school like that? I changed my mind and drove home!

I was going to Community College prior to Prism and I wanted to switch my major so a friend of mine recommended Prism, I got enrolled easily I passed my TEAS test on the first attempt, during my first term at Prism I realized it was a very intense accelerated program and knew I would need assistance, so I then formed a study group with 5 other students who drive to succeed matched mine. That was one of the best decisions I made because we supported each other the entire program and turned out to be very helpful. I would strongly suggest having a committed partner to study with to help each other with weak areas while in the program. Also, I met amazing instructors that Ive learned a lot from, my clinical experience was great I was able to be hands on with a lot of things we learn in the class room, Prism is overall a good school and as long as you play your part as a committed student you will do fine.

Worst school in the city of Philadelphia.. I dont even know where to start. The facility is trash, The guy that has the recruiting for the school Michael has nothing but a car salesman mentality.. also by the looks of it he is definitely a former drug user. Constantly twitching like crazy.. The staff sucks and there are literally like maybe two or three teachers who generally care for students success... everyone else is collecting a paycheck.. not made for teaching . I had one pharmacology II teacher who literally walked out of the classroom crying because she couldnt deliver the material properly. So we had to vote her out.. the councelors suck ass. Seriously this school is gonna get shut down like those other fake schools... to all prospective students please look elsewhere hopefully you will see this and take my advice.

Prism Career Institute Philadelphia Campus LPN program PN 38Started in Nov 2018Graduate in March 2020Day Pilot ProgramI went to Aria RN program but left when I had my son. The Prism program reminds me of Arias RN program in its quality. I think its even better because of how much the teachers care and come from an understanding perspective. From the DON to the teachers, us students are regarded as unique individuals with the potential of becoming quality nurses. Were treated with the utmost respect and taken seriously. How kind and helpful the teachers are encourages us to study harder. The program is accredited and will be for couple more years (confirm before you join any program). The clinical instructors are very helpful. A few may need to brush up on the exact protocol but other than that a lot of the instructors are very knowledgeable, relaxed, caring and welcome questions to enhance our learning. They do not look for reasons to fail students. The simulation lab helps you to further learn nursing skills and is done in a way where privacy is upheld (other students and teachers are not privy to what you have done in the sim lab). The practice dummy has simulated breath sounds, vital signs etc. to help create life like events seen on clinical floors. The guidance counselors help you tremendously in finding jobs and guiding you to a RN program. Some negatives include the bathrooms being messy time to time. Students can come off rowdy, unprofessional and immature. But sitting in the front can avoid any issues with students who talk during lecture time. Some days I do find classes starting really late due to teachers unpreparedness. Selection of where we do clinicals need to be improved. Few of the clinical sites were a little gut wrenching but at least the clinical instructors made it tolerable. If you are trying to decide between the LPN and RN program let the TEAS exam decide for you. If you scored just enough for the LPN program definitely pick the Prism program especially if its close to you and affordable. This can be the stepping stone in the health field for you that you need.

I recommend Prism Career Institute! You get what you put in; study, study, study.... ( You will here negative reviews, however in my educational journey at Prism, I did not experience negativity except from individuals who were not putting up the effort). My experience helped me grow as a person professionally and academically. I recently graduated 7/2016 and passed the NCLEX first try 8/2016. It was challenging and trying at times but it is all worth it in the end! Prism has helped me accomplish my dream of entering the Nursing profession and is my stepping stone to a better future.

My experience with prism Career Institute has been wonderful. I first attended prism back in 2010-2011 for their Medical Assistant Program. After getting certified, I found a job within 4 months. Now I’m goin back to prism Career Institute to attend the LPN program. I had to give my current job my 2 weeks notice because they refuse to accommodate me with my new schedule for school. I had told my advisor Matt Hamilton, my story and he’s going above and beyond to help me to find a new job while I go to school. He’s been in contact with me and has sent out my resume to multiple companies. My LPN classes (evening) starts May 8th and ironically I have an interview for a Medical Assistant position earlier that day ! I really have no complaints. I can’t wait to take this new step in my career. I highly recommend this Institution

I was done the program since 2015 and chose not to walk down the aisle cause I had nothing to show for it but I still wanted my pin and til this day they have been offering me different dates to graduate (not my class by the way) cause thats the only way to have gotten my pin yet they cancelled everytime and still til now 2019 I still dont have my pin. I call all the time and its either im waiting on hold for forever, they just dont pick up, Im getting transferred to someone who has no answers or I wait on hold, get transferred and the phone coincidently hangs up. I wouldnt recommend anyone to go here. I paid and still am paying student loans for this school and learned nothing. It was a waste of time and money

Going to Prism Career Institute was the best decision I made. The instructors and administration were helpful and patient even when we get a little frustrated. Ms. Jaqueline Mcord was our rock she helped our class more than she will ever know. My class was PN 28 which I think is one of the best classes prism has had we always encouraged each other. You know life some times catches up with us especially when we have a goal in place we always made sure to keep each other focused. We are family and always will be. Thank you Prism in showing us what our full potential can be.

This school is the worst. Glad I graduated. The teachers don’t know the curriculum. They make you study things not in the book and when you challenges them they say don’t follow the book because it’s wrong. All the resources are provided for you to excel and get a job after passing. SHOUT OUT to MS MARLENE OROSCO, she is the career readiness advisor and she really does her job. After passing the NCLEX I was receiving job offers and calls all day everyday, it was positively overwhelming. She emails and check in on the job search process and even after getting a job to see if I was satisfied with the new job. KUDOS MISS MARLENE.The New STaff the DON Dr. Jenn and ADON Ms Sharon and the other staff members are very good and wants nothing but for the students to be successful. I am very happy.

Prism Career Institute has a fairly good program with a curriculum that gives you well enough knowledge to help you succeed on the NCLEX-PN and as an entry level nurse. The day program is 12 months and the evening program consists of 15 months. You really have to help yourself when it comes to making sure you understand each subject/class since the program is pretty fast-paced. I would recommend Prism to anyone willing to focus and quickly earn their PN license.

The school persay isnt bad its these students that have mindsets of children. The ones who cheat and the ones who just constantly talk. I feel that if they screen the students better PRISM will have an overall better judgement by the community. Its said to say that schools accept whoever but to me so far i feel its an OK school. But some teachers need to know how to give material so the studrnts will get it. Its not bad tho i like it. Just like hospitals every one has alot of complaints or likes.

The school is not the problem. It is the students some of them give the school a bad reputation. People enroll with the mindset of I want to be a nurse so I can make money. They treat the teachers like they owe them something. Yes you pay for a service and you should expect to get your money worth. However, when you make the decision to go to school you get out of it what you put into it. Most of the students lack respect for themselves and others which make the learning environment difficult. They make Black women seem confrontational, arrogant, and ignorant. The school has lost clinical sites because of the behavior of some students. However, as far as the education you receive was above my expectations. They taught us as if it was a Registered Nurse program and I know because before I came to prism I was enrolled into a RN program and we learned everything they learn. I passed NCLEX first try and its because they dont let up on NCLEX questions. They start from day one preparing you for the most important test of you education. Yes it will annoy you but trust me after Boards you will appreciate them later. The only negative comment about the school itself is that they should have been more strict and at the first sign of unprofessional behavior the bad students should have received their walking papers.

This school is no good. After u pass the test, they tell you that you have a couple of days 2 pay them almost $200 to hold your spot. Then u have a little less than a month to have a drug test, physical, titers, transcripts, child abuse clearances etc... If u dont have all of these within the month, you can not come back to school until you have everything, although youve already started. Which means youll miss class. Keep in mind that you are only allowed to miss 2 classes. Sooo basically you will be dropped. Even though they already have your 27 thousand dollars. Youre in a class with 60 people. And you have 6 classes in 3 days.

Im entering my second term in the LPN program. Despite what others may say, Prism IS a VERY good school. PERIOD. There are some students who need to be kicked out...and they are FINALLY doing that! There is yet another DON (Tyra) who is finally kicking out the riffraff. Teachers are finally getting more strict but in a FAIR manner. My admissions rep was Matt and he was/is GREAT! Not just there to get you in, but will help you afterwards as well. Some excellent teachers too! Dr. Ross and Mr. Keys were GREAT! Mr. Keys taught Med Math. I hated math and never got higher than a C in school UNTIL I had Mr. Keys at Prism. He took the time to break everything down and make it seem SO easy! I wish I had him in grade school and HS! Extremely nice and CARING teacher! Dr. Ross knew his subject well-A&P. VERY intelligent man! Ms. Carol is yet another good teacher! I dont think we needed a computer class-that was a WASTE of time that should have been used for Math or A&P.....I only met the school director ONCE! Nice guy but should be much more visible and interactive with us. I look forward to my next term & will keep you updated. Remember that you get out what you put in, so if youre LAZY, dont waste anyones time. Oh, they need MORE PARKING spaces!
