I found Dr Manin, to be very rude, she constantly cut me off when I was trying to explain things to her. She was not happy that I wouldnt get a covid shot as I had Guillain Barre in October of this year. I am a new patient. She comes across as being very condescending. The staff is super nice And Carl is amazing.

Being new to Philly, I was looking for a doctor that was detailed-oriented and one that really got to know their patients. I was very impressed by Dr. Manins reviews and decided to her a chance. The process of scheduling my first appointment went flawlessly. Susan and the rest of the staff are professional, respectful, and kind. I was honestly excited to see a doctor because I had some concerns I wanted to discuss. The check-in process was quick. I completed the normal first-time documents and waited to be called in. The nurse that performed my initial physical examination was also kind which reassured my decision of choosing Dr. Manin and the rest of the staff.Everything changed when Dr. Manin entered the room. Right from the start, she had a very condescending attitude, which was jarring given that the rest of the staff was very kind. Maybe shes having a bad day I thought. The visit honestly became awkward and at one point I felt like a child that was being scolded. When the topic of the flu shot came up, I felt judged for saying I didnt want one. Instead of inquiring about my reservations, I felt as though Dr. Manin made an assumption about the type of person I was. She even tried to guilt me into getting one by bringing up my profession. When that didnt work, she resorted to being very passive aggressive saying well youre a smart person, look up what the CDC has to say about it. To be honest, by this point I was in complete shock because I have never experienced this kind of passive aggressiveness from a doctor before. By the end of my visit I felt very confused about the entire interaction. To her credit, she did give me a couple referrals to an OBGYN and some other services which was really helpful because I was new to the city and was still trying to figure things out.Fast forward to my 6 months check-up. Again, the staff is amazing. Susan is ver personable. This time, Carl performed my initial physical examination and he was professional with amazing bedside manner. Once Dr. Manin came in she seemed to be in a better mood which made think that my first visit was probably not an accurate depiction of her. However, as the visit went on she said some things that made me feel uncomfortable. She brought up my BMI and said that I was obese. She even brought up my cardiovascular health in order to scare me.As someone who trust doctors, this was very serious for me because I genuinely thought something might be wrong. However, nothing was wrong she was using fear tactics in order to get me to exercise which I never experienced before. When I tried to give her more insight about weight goals/issues, she dismissed them and said the only thing i can do is encourage you to be active and hope that you do. Again, she didnt inquire more about it or recommend a nutritionist she just scared me into thinking I had cardiovascular problems or was in immediate danger. When she asked about my sleep, I told her ive been trying magnesium to help my sleep, anxiety and to help with my PMS. Before I could finish my sentence, she asked where I was getting it from and i told her the specific brand. She then said just because people sell something doesnt mean we should try it. She didnt provide any reason why I shouldnt be taking it or why it would be dangerous for me specifically.Overall, Dr. Manin lacks cultural competence and could really benefit from a cultural responsive approach. Yes, she is a very knowledgable person however, the patient is the expert on their body. I came in thinking i was going to work with a medical professional in order to make more informed decisions about my body. what I got was someone who was very passive aggressive, condescending, and snobby. I am giving them two stars because the rest of the staff is so kind and the complete opposite of what I experienced with her. I think you would like Dr. Manin if you completely agree with her beliefs. If you dont, look elsewhere.

The office over the phone seemed fairly pleasant. I think one of the ladies at the desk is nice, but the one that you directly come into contact with is a wretched miserable troll. She is rude and tells you if you have any questions to ask, but then I ask her question and shes a jerk about it like I shouldnt be asking her any questions.I showed up 15mins before my appt and was seen 1hr and 30mins AFTER my appt time. Was in that waiting room for 1hr and 45mins. Then I was in examining room for another 20 minutes. I watched almost 6 episodes of The Office while waiting.Carl, is the only good thing about this place. He is awesome. Has great bedside manners and should really consider becoming a Nurse Practitioner I would go see him.Now to Dr. Manin... Google or youtube Dr. Dick by Tom Segura, but not as cool as the Dr. he is talking about... At least his doctor the odd interaction was entertaining. She is rude and condescending.Ask soon as she walks into the room doesnt even greet me or introduce herself she immediately says SO YOURE 30... I was so confused. She asked me what vitamins I take so I told her that Im taking Perfect Postnatal by New Chapter for breastfeeding and she says in such a rude tone (while finding me stupid amusing) you mean PRE natals..... I said NO, POSTnatals then I showed her it on my phone. Then her ego kinda changed and she said oh well...anyways. She wanted to get on me about every vitamin I took, when Ive actually taken the time to research what I should consume and consulted a few of my friends who are nutrients. Shes basically there to roast you.I was there for my weight since I was having a really hard time losing weight after my third baby and wanted to make sure there wasnt something wrong with my hormones (since Im very conscious about my diet and exercising). She kept asking me HOW MUCH DO YOU WANT TO WEIGH?!?!?!. I said I dont know I just want to be healthy and have less body fat. (Im 35.3% which is way over normal, BMI 27.4 - although BMI is an inaccurate form of measuring if someone is overweight or not because someone extremely muscular like body builders could have an overweight BMI).She asked me how long Ive been married. I told her Ive been married for almost 10 years and been with my husband for 12 years. I also told her that I just had my THIRD baby (if youve had a baby you would know that they test for everything and my husband job test him yearly - which she knows)... She had the nerve to ask me if I wanted to be test for STDS/HIV. Like what? Who does that. Why would you ask someone that? She didnt test my hormones, but blood work for my concerning vitamin intake. Well all of that was normal. AND she put on my medical record OVERWEIGHT... Why the hell did you ask me how much do I want to weight if you knew I am overweight? So if you like getting roasted, having your concerns not be a concern go see Dr. Manin.
