I was there for less than 6 months but I achieved and learned so much! My PT was Mike and he is amazing and very knowledgeable. He really catered to what I wanted and is also so kind and not intimidating. I did once a week 30 minutes sessions.

Rachel and The Summit are awesome! Before training here, I wasnt really ever sure if I was doing the right types of exercise for what I wanted to accomplish and would give up because I either wasnt seeing results or would injure myself. Exercise was generally frustrating and demotivating. Ive trained with Rachel for a little over a month now and already notice a shift in how I think about exercise, how I feel when I workout, and my motivation to get to the gym often. Rachel took time to learn about my goals and lifestyle before I started training. She spends every minute of our training sessions teaching me how to exercise, correcting my form, shares methods that help me stay aware and focused on each movement, and motivates me to push harder. On top of all that, shes created a dynamic workout program for me to follow at home (in a mobile app that syncs to my Fitbit!) that helps me reinforce what I learn during training and is incredibly responsive outside of sessions whenever I have questions. The Summit studio itself is so nice, theyre so thoughtful about scheduling so trainees never feel crowded, and the atmosphere is fun and motivating. Finally feeling equipped to reach my fitness goals and looking forward to continue training with Rachel.

Training with Elizabeth has been an incredible experience. She is extremely knowledgeable and always takes the time to explain the benefits of different exercises we do together. She is very thoughtful in planning the exercises we do during our sessions and she also has created great workout plans for me to do at home as well. She really covers all the aspects of weight loss, providing personalized nutrition advice in addition to the exercises. She is easily accessible outside of our sessions for any questions, which I really appreciate! I really enjoy my sessions with Elizabeth as she is really encouraging, caring, and believes in me and motivates me to do my best, and she is really fun to be around! I look forward to my sessions with her and have really seen the progress from training with her; I’m so grateful! Highest Recommendation! I started virtual training with Mike O. at Philly Personal Training (now The Summit at Rittenhouse) about 2 months ago. I was a little unsure going into it, given that I had very little gym experience to begin with and everything would be virtual. But Mike and the Summit team have exceeded every one of my expectations! (1) He has brought structure and accountability to my overall fitness routine. (2) He is extremely knowledgeable and has taught me the rationale behind every exercises and workout we do. (3) He has helped tailor my workouts to my diet and overall health (including navigating a couple of injuries). (4) They have bridged the technology gap with the seamless virtual training and iPhone app. for when I am training on my own (5) Every person I have talked to there has been a genuinely nice person, which is important. In just over two months, I have seen extremely positive results. I have lost weight, I am significantly stronger, and I have more energy/confidence. If you are on the fence about working with them, I highly encourage you give them a shot. I am confident you will have the same experience I have had and you will thank yourself.

I trained with Mike for about the past 5 months and have really enjoyed it and felt like my sessions were great, with no time wasted! Its amazing what can be packed into 30 minutes, which really makes you feel as though youre getting the most you can out of the workout. Mike was really patient any time I needed an extra push or guidance, which made me feel very comfortable. Because of the extra care and packed schedule, I didnt dread the workout! My trainer, Elizabeth, is excellent. I am an older man, >70 years old, and she fits the program to my goals without exasperating old injuries and arthritis. In fact I have less pain since working with her. She has greatly increased my energy and function. I can lift heavy pots and pans with ease, and reach above my head easily.

I joined back in November after a bout of long covid had me in the worst shape of my life. Working with Mike for the last 6 months has me in arguably the best shape of my life, couldn’t recommend enough! Im very new to fitness and have a sizable weight loss goal, so I was honestly intimidated to start working out and worried that I wouldnt be able to keep up. After the initial assessment, we started at my ability level and have built up from there. There hasnt been any shame or judgment from my trainer, Rachel, which has helped me feel more comfortable with and less judgmental of myself. I feel like I have support in my health goals. Ive made noticeable progress in the first two months and am looking forward to continuing my weight loss journey with Rachel and Philly Personal Training.

I trained with Matt at Philly personal training and he is great. He helped me with adding different exercises into my existing routine and also with recovering after an injury. He also gave me 3 plans to follow when I work out on my own since I only met with him for 1 hour once a week. He is very knowledgeable and switches up the exercises to keep things interesting and challenging. The 4 star (rather than 5) is simply because of cost, I wish it was more affordable so I could have continued training there.

Could not recommend this place more highly. Every interaction Ive had with them from ownership on down has been great. My trainer, Nick, has exceeded expectations from the first session -- extremely knowledgeable, responsive, challenging, and a great guy. Ive been working out alone or with a buddy for ~15 years and this place helped me break through long-standing plateaus in ~2 months. I really dont think you could do any better for the price point.

What an amazing gym Philly Personal Training is! I was looking for a gym that didnt have the toxic environment that typical gyms have and I found it. This gym is private, clean, and the entire personal training staff is extremely friendly. The thing I love most is that all the personal trainers on staff have college degrees in fitness and exercise, so you know youre working with a pro. I have seen amazing results in posture, the way my clothes fit, and my blood pressure has improved dramatically. Id recommend Philly Personal Training to anyone looking for a not-so-typical gym that provides amazing results!

Great private gym! Good place if you work in center city and go to the gym before or after. They have a shower too. My trainer helped me get into a routine after neglecting exercise for a few years and now I feel great. We have also been switching up routines to reach every physical goal. My trainer is Matt. I rarely [never] write reviews, but felt the need to write this review simply because Philly Personal Training is the best. What started as a simple “get my butt back to the gym” routine before my wedding has now lasted almost a year and has motivated me to continue my workout routine and training well beyond my wedding.If you are considering joining a gym or getting a personal trainer, I highly recommend Philly Personal Training for three simple reasons. First, generally speaking, it has competitive pricing for personal trainers and two 30-minute sessions a week isn’t THAT much more than a standard gym membership in center city. Second, they are incredible flexible with scheduling, which has proven to be a huge plus for me with my sporadic travel schedule for work. My trainer is always willing to work with me on finding the right times to fit a session in. Third, the trainers are all really knowledgeable in their craft and are generally nice, down to earth people that make training, dare I say, fun.I’ve worked with Liz and she’s taught me more workouts than I could ever remember and knows exactly how hard to push me. I joined so I can work on weight training and building lean muscle, but I know Liz, as well as the other trainers, know how to work with all types of clients and their different goals – which goes to show how well rounded the trainers are.So if you’re considering taking the step to get a trainer and are reading this review, do yourself a favor and give it a try – you won’t be disappointed.P.S. – I thought the 30-minute sessions would not be worth it, but I quickly realized I was wrong! They absolutely are and the trainers can create perfect 30-minute sessions… some days I even wonder if I’ll last the entire 30-minutes. If you are recovering from an injury, have cleared physical therapy and are looking for a professional trainer to guide you safely back to training; I highly recommend visiting Philly Personal Training.Early last March I experienced a complete tear of my right arm bicep tendons. I underwent surgery to repair the tear and proceeded with the recovery process as directed by the Surgeon; completing physical therapy as directed. At the November follow up with the Surgeon; I was given the green light to start easing back into working out.I met with Rachel at my initial appointment. We discussed previous workout history, injury history, and current fitness goals. After the initial consult, I was teamed up with Matt. Matts knowledge and experience with training those injury prone and those recovering from injury was extremely beneficial. Over the past 4 months we developed a lifting plan to re-establish my previous strength and fitness levels. We identfied areas of weakness and bad habits. My trainer Matt made a good effort to get to know me on a personal level while also pushing me to finish hard workouts. It was just a half hour session once a week, but it was more than intense enough and they provide outside workouts to keep you working outside the gym. Feeling out of shape, unmotivated, and unhealthy for the longest time I had reached out to Philly Personal Training after reading that their team consisted of trained and educated health experts. My trainer, Rachel Hydock, is the most amazing trainer I couldve ever asked for and Im so glad that I was able to find her at Philly Personal Training. Looking to tone up, gain more energy, and live by a healthier lifestyle, Rachel has been able to guide me onto just the path I was looking for. Rachel has instilled in me a joy in working out and going to the gym. I cant imagine my life without it now. She doesnt give you anything you cant handle, but at the same time she will push you to the best of your abilities and to create more endurance. Rachel is a joy to be around. Elizabeth is amazing. About 5 months before my wedding I broke my wrist, gained 5 pounds instantly and had a serious panic attack over whether or not I would be wedding dress ready for my big day. Elizabeth talked me off a ledge and set me up with an incredible nutrition and workout plan. She made hard work fun again! She even went as far as to let me text her what I ate each day and confirm I completed at least one of the many extra workouts she sent me on the days that we just couldnt meet due to my busy work schedule. This really helped keep me on track!7 months later, down 12+ pounds and 2+ sizes I fit perfectly into my wedding dress. But, even more importantly, after my wedding I continue to meet with her because she has truly helped me change my lifestyle and enjoy working out again. Ive had a terrific experience at Philly Personal Training working with my trainer, Liz, over the past few months. Liz does an exceptional job at ensuring that I get as much as possible out of our 30-minute sessions, which are perfect for someone like me with a demanding work schedule. Ive been extremely pleased (and surprised) by how great of a workout I can get in such a short time each session with her. Liz is also keenly observant of how my body reacts to an exercise and makes sure to immediately adjust any exercise if it seems too tough or too easy. She also does a great job of incorporating a wide array of different exercises that work out various muscles and keep things interesting. Moreover, the excellent workout aside, Liz is a wonderful person and an utter joy to be around. It isnt easy to enjoy the company of someone who is making you do physically demanding exercises at 730 in the morning, but Liz is a genuinely fun person to talk to who knows how to strike the perfect balance between professionalism and lightheartedness, which really adds a lot to the experience. From what Ive observed, the other trainers there are also great people, contributing to an overall terrific culture at the gym.

Ive been working with Liz for the past several months and I couldnt be happier. She meets me where I am during each session, but has a good sense of when to push me. The facility is clean, bright, and well maintained, and the other trainers there are friendly and professional. I thought I might feel self-conscious working out in close proximity with one or two other clients in the space, but Ive been pleasantly surprised at how little Ive noticed because Im focused on getting through my own session. The only thing I wish I could change is my budget so that I could afford to visit more frequently.

I have been working with Rachel for around 3 months and she is amazing! At first I thought 30-min session is short but I was totally wrong. Rachel is very good at tailoring the work out for my needs and keeping pushing forward my limit. She watches my performance closely and always makes sure I use the right muscle without hurting myself during the session. The 30-min with her is much more effective than the time I work out on my own. Since English is not my first language, she uses her great patience to explain the work out to me with body language to make the communication efficiently. Her smiles always make my day in the morning! I can feel my body is getting stronger into a better shape. And the monthly membership helps to establish the consistency which is mostly important. I strongly recommend Philly’s personal training to anyone who wants to see a difference!

Matt! He’s a wonderful trainer. I’ve been training with Matt for about four months and can honestly see so many results: I’m stronger, fitter, and much more confident with my workouts. He pushes you without being overbearing, so you’re lifting more and doing more exercises than you ever thought you could - and that you’d ever do on your own. Great place with experienced and fantastic staff! I had my summer training with Mike for two months and the result was pretty much beyond my expectation . Mike customized my workout to build up my strength and better coordination, he saw my weakness and helped me becoming better by working on those weaknesses. He also kept our sessions at their best intensity and fun, and the result speaks for itself. I’m really happy about my time with Mike and I’ll definitely come back if I spend my next summer in Philly!

Im SO glad that I found Philly Personal Training when I did. Breaking bad eating and exercise habits is really hard, but these folks are making it happen. The space is never crowded and you get individual attention from knowledgeable trainers. I always see familiar faces there, too, which I feel is a good sign- Im not the only one that loves coming back.3 months ago, I was paired with Elizabeth as my trainer and cannot say enough nice things. I have already started seeing results and I only spend about an hour a week with her. Most of the time Im cracking up laughing, too. Shes sneaky like that. If I had the time to do 2 hours a week, I imagine that Id look like a supermodel already.Seriously, the trainers here are wonderful and the environment is warm and friendly. Choosing Philly Personal Training was one of the best decisions I have ever made. It was so easy and fast to get a consultation and I was paired with the perfect trainer for my needs. I have been working with my trainer, Liz Marmer, and she is AWESOME! My fitness goals have been focused on running and overcoming a shin injury in preparation for the Philadelphia Marathon.I love working with Liz because she is relatable, informative, and positive. Being able to work with someone that understands what Ive been going through has made such a difference. Not only has she given me so much running advice, but she has also given me a greater context of what it takes to be a healthy, strong runner, and that is exactly what I was hoping for. I have been working with Rachel at Philly Personal Training since October and so far, I love it. Philly Personal Training is great because they have their own facilities and they limit the number of trainer/trainees that are scheduled for the same time. So the gym is never crowded and theres never a wait for any of the equipment.Rachel is the perfect combination of personable and professional. How she manages to be chipper and motivating at 6:30 in the morning is still mind-boggling to me. She pushes me each session and I am constantly surprised at how much progress I make each week; I am so much stronger than I was just a few weeks ago. So far my experience at Philly Personal Training has been great, and I dont expect that to change. Elizabeth is a great trainer, especially for someone like me who has previous sports related injuries. She is very knowledgeable about what exercises you can and cannot preform in order to prevent you from injuring yourself again and to strengthen that area that may need a little more attention. Elizabeth is also great at taking you goals and forming a work out that will help you reach them as fast as possible. If youre looking for a great gym with very professional, knowledgeable trainers, then I would definitely suggest looking into Philly Personal Training.

He makes the workouts feel fast, and is very knowledgeable on how to achieve the results you’re looking for. As a former collegiate athlete, it was hard to admit that I needed a personal trainer to get myself back into shape. But, after months in the gym and not seeing the results that I desired, I knew I needed to do something more. I found myself finally researching my Personal Training options here in Philadelphia. After one email to Philadelphia Personal Training, I knew that Brian took his work seriously. During our fist initial meeting, he listened to what I had to say, understood what I was looking for and showed me how I could reach my goals. All it took was one conversation and I was convinced that I needed to give Philly Personal Training a chance.Lucky for me, Brian matched me with Shawn. Shawn, certainly knows what he is doing when it comes to training. He not only creates challenging workouts but he listens to my concerns and is always willing to share additional tips and tricks to assist with problem areas. In addition to the workouts that he puts together each week, his love of all things 90s music and miscellaneous movie trivia really helps to make my sessions entertaining. If you can’t enjoy yourself when you are working out then there really isn’t much point to it. Because of his fun demeanor, I actually look forward to going to the gym bright and early twice a week.While I can’t give you specific facts and figures when it comes to the success that I have seen in the gym, I can tell you that I leave each session feeling better than when I walked in. I lift heavier weights than I did 2 months ago and I have an overall better view point of my health and fitness journey. I started training with Brian because I wanted to become more disciplined with my exercise routines and lose a few extra pounds.One thing that makes Brian stand out is his demeanor. He was very attentive, friendly, and encouraging. I looked forward to our training sessions each week. Brian always varied the training sessions to keep them exciting and challenging. He was patient but still pushed me each session. I also really liked that he was attentive to my problem areas. I used to experience lower back pain when exercising, but Brian incorporated lower back exercises into each workout. Now, I can lift weights without any pain issues.Brian also helped me to make lasting changes in the way I eat. On his meal plans, I never felt so hungry that I couldnt function. His nutrition suggestions are varied, flexible for a busy lifestyle, and easy to follow.I cant recommend Brian highly enough for your fitness goals.

Ive been training with Rachel for about 3 months now, and Im loving my experience. Philly Personal Training is well-organized and smoothly run. With regular assessments and nutrition consults, I enjoy the care in tracking progress and looking at the whole picture to address any concerns and tweak any needs. With focused 30 minute sessions plus my at-home workouts, Im seeing results, and Im feeling motivated. Rachel is an excellent trainer - super knowledgeable, encouraging, flexible and personable. Ive been working out with Shawn now for almost two months. The change is noticeable. Ive started to lose my gut, trim my waist and tone in the areas that need toning. I have been working out here with Shawn Irving since February and have been extremely happy with the results and services that I have received since I started. Shawn is very flexible and accommodating with scheduling times to work out that fit with my schedule during the week and he personalizes my workouts to target the areas that I want to work on. Brian is a wonderful personal trainer. While working with him and his workout plan, I lost several inches and gained significant strength. I had trouble staying motivated for long with many programs, but his personal attention and time made me stick with my regimen and kept me focused. I started training with Elizabeth M. a few weeks ago, and I am so happy with my decision! She is an awesome trainer - she keeps the workouts fun with lots of variety, and pushes me without overdoing it. She is an educated and knowledgeable trainer, and always takes the time to fix my form or explain the movements. Her sense of humor and music selections are an added bonus. The facility is very streamlined and clean, and does not feel crowded. The integrated mobile app allows trainers to send workouts, meal plans etc., which is a perk. I started going to Philly Personal Training in December of last year after I found myself struggling to lose weight on my own. Out of all the different personal trainer options in Philadelphia, I picked Philly Personal Training because all of their trainers had college degrees in exercise science and they offered onsite Registered Dietitian consultation through Family Food LLC. After a Fitness Assessment and discussing what time would work best for me, I met Liz, one of the trainers at Philly Personal Training. I have never been a fan of the gym and this was my first experience with a personal trainer; however, my concerns quickly disappeared under her careful guidance. Liz created a personal workout plan for me based on the equipment available at home and each of our twice weekly 30-minute sessions gave me the chance to learn more about exercise and proper form under a watchful eye. Philly Personal Training also has an onsite shower which makes early morning exercise a breeze before work. Supplemented with the great feedback from a Registered Dietitian, I started to see the scale shift down. Liz is a kind person, has been great in adapting to new challenges (both in the gym and general scheduling), and ensures that I push myself while remaining safe. The private gym is clean and I rarely encountered more than 2 or 3 other gym members. Thanks to the guidance of Liz and other members of the Philly Personal Training team, I am now 50 lbs lighter. To anyone on the fence, do yourself a favor and stop in to Philly Personal Training.

Ive been going to PPT for a few months now. My trainer, Rachel, is the best! She is extremely helpful, and is always available. Not only are the workouts challenging, but theyre also enjoyable. She makes working out fun for me. I leave each session dripping in sweat, but with a smile on my face. I couldnt ask for anything more out of a personal trainer. I am definitely going to miss our sessions when I move back to California.

I trained with Rachel for just over a year. I came to her after 7 years of being afraid to exercise--when I was 18 I got diagnosed with a chronic health condition which literally forced me to stop exercising after being super active (I did martial arts and cross country running). Even when I started to get my physical health back, I was still afraid of hurting myself or making myself sick from physical activity and wanted help and support from someone who knew exercise science and how our bodies worked. This is where Rachel came in.Rachel is super kind and fun to work with. She knows how to push you just a little further than you think you can go. I saw myself get stronger and faster as I logged each session. I did just 1 30 minute session per week, and saw results quickly, because Rachel put together exercise routines I could do on my own for the rest of the week. So I got 5 planned workouts a week (1 session + 4 on my own), which was an incredible value for the price.Rachel never failed to deliver high quality training, workouts, and information. She delivered on everything I signed up for. She answered any questions I had, and after one year I definitely learned how to listen to my body and push myself. I feel much less afraid than I did going in, and confident enough to continue working out on my own.Heres a few stats too: I lost 6% body fat in one year, and 12 lbs. Never in my life have I lost fat and gained muscle like this, and it feels really good to know that I did it slowly over time in a healthy way. The training also really encouraged me to improve my eating habits and tackle my insomnia with a Sleep specialist, so Im coming out of this experience more healthy than before in many respects.If youre thinking about trying this, do it! I have worked out my entire life, and have tried every fad diet out there; however, I wasnt seeing the results I had hoped for, and decided to hire a personal trainer. I have been working with Brian for 16 months, and have accomplished goals I didnt even know I wanted to accomplish! Ive always thought I had pretty good strength, but the results I am seeing with Brian are phenomenal: 80+ push-ups at one time, unassisted pull-ups and a leg press more than double my body weight! With the help of Brian, I ran The Broad Street Run in May 2013, and plan on shedding 30-60 seconds off my pace for the 2014 race.The sessions are challenging, but there is no better feeling than knowing how much muscle you are gaining, and seeing how different your clothes fit. The best part, I am eating MORE, losing weight and cutting down the number of days I spend in the gym! Not only does Brian provide new and challenging exercises, he takes the time to educate you in order to have successful workouts on your own. I have had a great experience with Brian, and would highly recommend him as a personal trainer.

A few months after having a baby I was ready to start losing the baby weight but I didnt quite know how. Joining a gym and taking the baby along was not an option so I needed some exercise routines that I could do at home during whatever available time I had. Brian came out to my house, at times that were convenient to me, and did exactly what I requested. Since I was finding time to exercise around an infants schedule I didnt want a workout that involved lots of different weights and equipment and set up time. He customized several workouts that mostly relied on my body weight, providing a good mix of muscle groups in each workout. I am very pleased with the results and I would highly recommend Brian.

I have been an athlete my whole life, but everything started catching up to me as soon as college ended. Philly Personal Training is a great place all around from the people to the facility. I train with Rachel. She has been very flexible, personable, and pushes you to your limits (in a good way). She is constantly pushing me and doing new work outs. Shes also been very attentive to my knee problems and scoliosis, and have given me exercises and stretched to help with them. Shes gone out of her way to look into my random aches/pains. Also provided a home work out schedule for my off days and since i dont belong to a gym, she made it compatible with what materials I have available to me. I started here 5 months ago after not going to the gym in about a year, and even then i wasnt going consistently. My intimidation with that was eased immediately and i never felt awkward for starting out weak. Rachel makes sure to point out differences she notices in my strength and tone and thats always nice to hear from someone else!There have been a few issues with being billed inappropriately. Twice I had to correct them and once it was corrected without my having to reach out. Just to keep note in case you start at a weird time in the month, or need to prorate payments for any reason.. double check the math. Once I reached out, it was immediately corrected, so the resolution process was very smooth.

Shaun was incredibly thorough with my routine and helped me to learn all of the basics you need to know about strength training. She is phenomenal; shes professional and definitely knows how to work people to achieve specific goals. And my goals have changed like four times over the course of the year. From gaining strength after a miscarriage, to getting in shape for bjj competition, to regaining strength again after having lyme, to losing weight for a wedding. I highly recommend Brian Maher as a personal trainer. He listens to your needs and wants, and creates workouts based on your personal goals. My body has changed drastically in the 1 year that I have been training with Brian. In the first 3 months of training, and only seeing Brian once per week, my body fat percentage decreased almost 5%! I have continued to drop pounds and inches, and am currently in the best shape of my life. Brian is incredibly knowledgeable and dedicated to his profession, and will help you reach your fitness and nutrition goals. I have been training with Brian for over a year now and continue to see results and be challenged during my work outs. He helps to set realistic goals, diet plans and exercises that are appropriate for your body type and fitness level. I injured my knee 9 months into training, and he adjusted my work outs so I could continue with our sessions while staying within the limits of my physical therapists recommendations. Brian is a great personal trainer. At first I was a bit apprehensive about going to a personal trainer, but after a few short weeks I saw dramatic results. Every week I show up to a new, challenging workout. Brian has also given me customized workout plans for days I train at home. His knowledge about fitness and nutrition is second to none. When I first started working out with Brian, we set up benchmarks and goals that would be checked every three months. In my first three months I greatly exceeded all of those goals. I guess the best place to start is at the beginning. Last January I woke up and my left knee was roughly 3 times the size of my right. After x-ray, mri, and fluid draining, my doctor suggested I work on strengthening my body so I can take some of the pressure off of my knee.I had read an article Brian wrote, and decided to give him a call. After 2 or 3 reschedule, all my doing, we finally had the chance to meet and talk. I pretty much knew after 15 minutes or so that I was going to sign up. I liked the fact that the studio is small and private. I did not want any parts of some chain gym. He paid attention to everything I said and never tried to hard sell me. Naturally, he mentioned things that make Philly Personal Training unique, specifically all of the trainers having degrees in a particular, relevant discipline. He immediately understood the situation with my knee and what my doc wanted me to do.I started working out with Elizabeth the following week. I had no idea what to expect, but after 3 months I can honestly say this is the best I’ve felt in a long time. My knee feels so much better, and even the everyday things are much easier. She does a great job of making the workouts challenging but manageable. We have some great conversation, we laugh, but she pushes me when I need it, which is pretty much every workout☺I would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone. It’s been a cool experience.

A former cardio-enthusiast and classpass user, I have never seen better results than through working with Nick. He has helped me get stronger through his individualized, detail-oriented, and fun work-outs. In just a few short months I have seen mental and physical improvements.Nick pays attention to form and has pointed out subtle changes that have made huge differences for improving my strength and flexibility while preventing injury. Going to PPT was the best decision I ever made. Liz is a wonderful trainer and has made every session I had enjoyable. I was hesitant to get a personal trainer but Liz was so welcoming. I never felt any judgement from her or anyone else at PPT. Liz pushed me just enough but also worked with me so that I could get the most out of my experience. I cant say enough fantastic things about Philly Personal Training! I began working with Brian almost 3 years ago after hitting a breaking point with my weight. I was the heaviest Id ever been and getting back to my old self without help felt impossible. When I came across Philly Personal Training, I was first impressed by Brians academic and professional background. I felt much more confident working with someone who had an advanced degree in exercise and sport science than someone who has a basic background in personal training in a larger gym. Food has always been my Achilles heel, so Brian being able to also help with nutrition was a huge bonus. The initial consultation made me even more comfortable and confident that Brian would be able to help me get to where I wanted to be. I knew Brian wasnt going to be the kind of personal trainer who pushed you until you were physically sick or made you feel terrible for struggling with an exercise. That approach definitely works for some people but Im not one of them.Over the years, Brian has worked with me to fix some physical weaknesses. My most recent challenge has been back pain and fatigue from work. I work in the dental field and much of my day is spent on my feet or in an awkwardly contorted position to work on patients. We have begun to do focused exercises to strengthen my back and I am shocked and thrilled at how quickly Ive seen results. It is now infinitely easier to get through my workday and I dont have the same amount of discomfort when I get home at night.I cannot believe where I am now versus where I was when I first began training. I am in the best shape of my life and more confident than Ive ever been and my entire life has gotten better as a result. I am more confident at work and in various social situations. There were so many times when I left clothing stores in tears because of how much I hated the way I looked but now shopping is actually fun. It feels fantastic when people tell me how good I look but what really matters is that I finally feel fantastic. As a result, my training focus has shifted from losing weight to gaining even more strength. Knowing I can lift weight that even some men cant is far more exhilarating and rewarding than fitting into a size 2 or 4. I love the reaction I get when I tell someone how much weight I can do with dumbbell rows or bench presses.Brians holistic approach to health and well-being is tough to find nowadays. Everyone, including myself three years ago, wants quick, instant results but those are the ones that dont last. The results I have achieved are lasting and theres no way I will ever go back to what I used to be. I know I wouldnt be where I am now without Philly Personal Training and for that I am beyond grateful.
