Dr. Parkman seemed competant. Then his office lapsed my medicine and they wouldnt return calls. Then Dr Parkman missed a virtual appointment and nobody called me. I contacted Patient Advocacy and they never did anything. This was an awful experience

My Wife and I waited over 6 months for a much needed appointment with Dr Parkman. We travelled very far into Philadelphia to finally and hopefully get to the bottom of my wife’s problem. Upon our scheduled Appointment time we waited quite awhile to even be seen. We didn’t even seem to mind because we had waited many many months to be there. Upon finally meeting this Doctor that we were told was the Very Best, we were extremely disappointed. Although we knew there would be many tests before getting to the bottom of my wife’s health issues, the entire office scheduled every test out of order and the time frames between each test was months apart. Our personal feelings from when we first met Dr Parkman was he was Cold with absolutely no bedside matter at all. Not even much of a personality. My wife disliked him immediately however, she thought she was in the best of hands. Dr Parkman gave her 2 different medications both which made her violently sick and both her and I called back the Office for 3 straight days getting no return phone calls at all. Finally my wife was rushed by Ambulance from our home to our nearest hospital. They admitted her immediately! We found out the dosage on the medications was completely wrong! When my Wife returned home after her Hospital stay, she called the Supervisor of the Office. It was 5 hours later that we finally heard from his Nurse. She agrees that medication dosages were wrong and even testing was scheduled wrong. We were shocked. 2 weeks later we are still awaiting a personal call from Dr. Parkman himself, however we lost hope and all faith in him. Beware: Never Expect a return call back from this office. Even the Receptionists at the front desks were out of line and quite rude. They literally hung the phone up in my wife’s ear. I will never ever return to this facility! This Doctor and his staff are definitely not what their ratings are. I personally give him and the entire office a 0. We have moved on but we will never forget what they put us through! Horrible service and Experience!!!!! Furthermore, don’t bother with Patient Advocacy, they don’t answer their phones either! Ever!!!!

Had a appointment scheduled for 9 months. As I awaited each appointment they would cancel at the last minute. Then to top matters off they said they did not take my insurance when I called to confirm today September 10 for my appointment on September 14th. My son had to take off work and I am so sick with gastroparesis he is only doctor that can help me. They already canceled my appointment when I was willing to pay. If I die, thank Temple and mr. Parkman. They do not can about life or humans, only money!!

I LOVE dr Parkman! All these negative reviews are hard to read. Everyone has their own opinion but he has saved my life. He was such an advocate for me to get the proper care when I went to other doctors in the hospital. His visits were short and sweet because he is a busy man. But I appreciate him so much.

Thanks to Dr. Parkman, my daughter has her life back. He is a skilled professional and the best in the nation for treating gastroparesis. When you feel that you have nowhere to turn to help your child, come to him. He is compassionate, caring, and great with my 23 year old daughter. His scheduling department has bent the rules for us for appointments due to our 5 hour each way trip. He helped us to fight hard with the insurance company to get coverage. The gastric stimulator he advocates for and manages once installed via surgery (Dr. Roman Petrov) is giving our very sick (on feeding tube) daughter a new lease on life and ability to see life without a tube and ability to eat food again. I cannot say enough about our experience with this wonderful doctor and his staff. He is a blessing to our family.

Dr. Parkman is a wonderful doctor but has no consideration for his patient’s time.Expect to spend the day waiting to see him even if it is a tele-health appointment. I had a Tele-health appointment scheduled for today and have been waiting for over an hour for a phone call. Will have to reschedule.Very annoying!!!

Dr Parkman is the best in the area for Gastroparesis. His bedside manner is amazing and he understands real people and real life events. I have panic attacks easily and he knows it. Each time I am ready to have a surgical procedure he take a few.minutes and relaxes me, says something funny...does something funny... He is amazing.Marisa Wilkins, Whiting, NJ

He gave me my life back. Ive been a patient of Dr. Parkmans for almost a year. When I first began seeing him I was very ill, I had to delay my graduation from college by a semester, I could only work part time due to the frequency of being ill. I had no hope of ever getting off my feeding tube. I had constant nausea and pain. Dr. Parkman worked with me as we exhausted medicine after medicine to try to control my symptoms. I finally got the pacemaker after he fought really hard with my insurance for 7 months to get it approved. The pacemaker has been miraculous for me, I just started working full time, my feeding tube has been taken out, I am living a symptom free life. He lives, eats and breathes gastroparesis research and connected me to studies and new treatment options. He has always been in my corner and has advocated for me in a way that other gastroenterologists havent. He extremely smart, compassionate and funny and really cares about his patients. His staff adores him. I cannot sing Dr. Parkmans praises enough. He is the A-Team when it comes to gastroparesis management.

Dr Parkman is the best not only for properly diagnosing but for having solutions to those complicated diagnosis. He takes his time with his patients, is extremely knowledgeable and very personable too! He saved my husbands life and for that I am thankful.

I really like him. He is a great Dr, but his office does not return calls and you have to wait so long when you have an appointment. It is starting to be a hardship taking my mom since we live over an hour away.

Parkmans secretary is extremely rude. She informed me whomever set the appt with me, did it incorrectly. I had made the appt two months prior as no immediate appts were in the foreseeable future. She continued to talk over me when I tried to ask a question and hung up on me before I could give her my phone number. I cancelled my appt. with Parkman. Which prompted me to look at other views. Very concerning regarding some of the patient reviews.

Has no bedside manner, wouldnt bother to explain anything and didnt understand what adoption means after asking for family medical history. He also asked the same question repeatedly. I had many questions about my gastroparesis and what can be done but he was in and out so quick I didnt have the chance to ask 1 question, all after waiting for over 2 hours. The wait being so long I would have thought he would spend more time with his patients and answer a few questions they have , but no. My regular gastro dr was better than this guy and not a supposed specialist on gastroparesis. In addition to that once I saw the doctor he gave me a huge pile of paperwork to fill out, why I wasnt given this during my 2 hours waiting I will never understand as it made it harder to answer verbal questions while reading the questions and filling them out. The office staff also seemed less than professional as they were rude causing several patients to get frustrated and start verbally arguing just so they could finally leave.

Im from a small town in Virginia, and was deathly ill for 22yrs. .. at one point I sold my home and made my way to Louisville Kentucky to see a specialist. He was very good, but no luck. Several years later I read about Mr Parkman and made my way North (averaging weight 90lbs loaded down on vitamins and ensure) Within 4 days of testing at Temple I was diagnosed with Gastroparesis. .. (finally! This thing controlling my life has a name!) Dr Parkman saved my life. I was tired, physically, mentally, and emotional drained. My life was a nightmare of hot baths, hospitals and literal starvation. He prescribed an enzyme that got a nerve functioning at enough capacity that I have a decent quality of life. I actually managed to go back to long haul trucking for 6mo 2yrs ago (something I had been told Id NEVER be able to do again. .. I actually cried when I desended down from San Bernardino when I saw the lights over Riverside, and my old friend the City of Angels off in the distance. .. I thanked God and Dr Parkman for the opportunity.) I have a routine that I maintain along with regular Gastric medical care. I will probably always remain on disability my age and reprocussions from malnutrition work against me, but with the help of Dr Parkman I ALSO HAVE the knowledge, skills and tools to maintain a much more positive, powerful life force, and I am forever grateful. Thank You Dr Parkman for your time and much needed knowledge. Always,Corinna Smith(Doubleshot)
