I’M convinced these good reviews is FAKE listen, they are not cleaning out the hair combs and brushes before using them on the next, when u ask them to clean them they get mad, I asked for a trim but they CUT MY HAIR OFF, I went from bra length to shoulder length, and during the whole washing process they were ripping my hair out then during the blow out Maria was ripping my hair out, my whole middle is broken OFF, they don’t want u to have no hair, they she switched the price from when I asked Maria on the phone, my hair smells like burn corn chips, on the phone Maria said 45 then said 70 after doing my hair I said I can give u 50. I’m going right back to my black hair dresser. They do not know how to care for blk hair.

I have been to many salons and I was completely surprised how wonderful my hair turned out at Marias! I have heard they burn you and the shop is a mess, I beg to differ! The shop is quaint, everyone is professional and your in and out! I have natural hair (4c) and I never imagined my hair feeling like I have a silk press without any chemicals; just a hood dryer, a roller set, a blow dryer and a flat iron! Amazing... thank you to the staff!! I love my hair!

Owner overpriced me, hair cut uneven, always arguments in store. Dirty towels. I was a customer for over 5 years and brought college students there in the past , they speak in Spanish when talking negative about you and gossip. They are nice but very slick with there services.

This is my shop of choice when getting my hair washed and blow dried i let the owner do my hair she’s the best i’m African American my hair is down my back and when she does it it always looks amazing every time i come to philadelphia i come here sometimes the wait is long but i prefer them over the one on 6th and lehigh i believe it is i take my own shampoo and conditioner i use bio silk and my hair looks nice and healthy

It was ok.Got a wash, deep conditioner and trim for 62 on Saturday. If you go on Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday you will get a better deal.

I have been going to Maria’s on and off for years, only going to other stylist due to location and longer hours of service. After going to my previous stylist and having a really bad experience, resulting in severe hair damage, I decided to go back to Maria’s. I went 2 weeks ago on a Tuesday for a wash, deep conditioning, roller set, trim, and pin curl all for under $40. The shampoo girl was extremely gentle with combing my thick natural curly hair, using the right combs, which was a plus. The hair stylist was also amazing, listening to exactly what I wanted and accomplishing the look that I was going for. I received so many compliments on my hair and my boo loved it! I will be going to Maria’s from now on and look forward to seeing my hair 100% healthy again. If you are looking to try this salon, please do. You won’t be disappointed!

My hair is truly well done and the staff is polite and pleasant. But, on one occasion, i forgot my earbuds as i listened to the Hamilton soundtrack. I was asked to turn off the ...church music. I admit, i should have had on my earbuds, but i was offended when:(a) the plays soundtrack was wrongly classified as church music; and(b) church music was considered offensive and should be turned off,when in contrast, the staff openly and loudly engaged in conversation in Spanish among an entirely Black clientel who spoke only English.

My hair feels amazing!! I dont have color or any chemicals, normally wear my hair in natural braided twist styles but I needed a break! Marias was recommended by a friend, whos hair is always flawless and now I see why! I cant stop touching my hair!! Im in love again when I was almost gave up and went short again!

I have been going here on and off for over 10 years, back when they had the Lehigh location lol. Anyways, I drive from Maryland just for this shop because they practice good, healthy hair care! I needed to chop 8 inches of my hair and this shop has definitely made it easier for me to transition from damaged to healthy, long hair. This is the #1 hair salon! Also, super affordable as they dont charge you by length...for us with long hair 😉

Dominicans shops always do a great blow out!! In my experience they do not do good “blend-in weaves” good. They charge 5$ a track. Even if you want a nice full look. I prefer a flat rate. Overall if your looking for your natural hair wash and blown out as I only go to this shop just for that. They also have specials on certain days of the week.

Looking for a great hairstyle go here. Dominican hair salon which can turn your natural curly hair to straight, curly and glossy in less then one and a half hours. Amazing what these hair artists can do with a blow dryers, curlers and a curling iron. Very nice personell. If you are ready to walk the runway walk in. Most of the hairstyles cost less then thirty five dollars and thats such a bargain. Usually no line, no wait and even when you have to wait. The wait time is minimal.

It was not crowded and I didnt have to wait long to be serviced. My second visit here and my hair came out nice.

Went here to get my hair done because they opened earlier than everyone else, plus I was no where near my normal shop. Got my hair washed and the lady had long gloves on so my face was constantly getting shampoo dripped on it, then when I was asked if I wanted my hair roller set and said no, was told that it’s an extra $5 to blow dry my hair.....isn’t that apart of washing and drying??? But i was still set under the dryer, just with my hair all over the place. No complaints on my hair itself. It was pin curled, but started raining before i left...wasn’t even offered a shower cap. I usually tip both stylist and shampoo girl but that additional charge for doing the basic of hair washing just irked me a bit. I’ll stick to what I know from now on.

I used to come here all the time. I came back after a few years. My experience was horrible . The lady doing my hair was so sloppy when gluing my tracks in she got glue all over the hair and was rushing. I told her i wanted curls she did my hair straight . I told her I wanted to curls she ignored me. When paying I told the owner I wanted curls she ignored me as well. My hair looked horrible . She did it how she wanted it and it was a hot mess. I was so disappointed I went home and combed my hair out . I will not be returning . Biggest waste of $40

Usually they prices be good! I always get a cut and wash and straighten it’s always 30$ today I did a wash and straighten it was 40$ like how never again !!!

I came in for a dye job, and the ladies did an awesome job!!!! They definitely have a faithful long term customer. I would recommend anyone to this shop.

Ths place is the bomb. Went in today and got a wash deep condition and blow for $25 and my hair came out soft with body and slayed. Ill definitely be back.

I went Aug 1st2019.the usual stylist were not there ..the stylist who was there was horrible charges me 42.00 wash and curl..she was talking in Spanish in my ear like caca bird keep hitting me with comb turning head hard..she dont no I understood what she was saying and she was talking about me unprofessional
