I have spent a couple of hours on the night of August 25/26, 2021. I came with severe pain in my chest and my back after a car incident. Kind, caring, compassionate and very qualified staff. I got all the tests, advice and medications for my pain. Thank you Dr. Pattani, Dr. Williams and nurse Lilia(Lily).

They won’t allow a family member to stay with patient who just had surgery and doesn’t speak English but shared rooms are ok? Distancing isn’t mandatory for relatives you live with and other countries allow 1 family.

Went in last night with my 6 year old, she had a bad chin laceration, Dr Orozko-Kellermeier and Dr Knopoff where great in keeping everyone calm while explaining what has to be done. 4 Stitches where applied, nurses got here a toy after, to get here comfortable. While it was not a very good experience going to ER, Im very thankful to the team that helped us on 04/02/21.Great hospital, great teams, very professional!

Doctors Ogarek and Judson were the best. They took basic measures first and avoided more invasive techniques. The concern and professionalism of the ENTIRE staff; including the lady that handled the insurance documentation was truly appreciated. Everyone made what could have been a traumatic experience completely calming.

Worst experience ever! My mother fell and we took her to this ER. There have not been more that 4 people here for the last 3 1/2 hours. Yet my mom is waiting in excruciating pain. I have been to many ER’s and I am know there is some waiting involved. But this is just in humane! What happened to this wonderful hospital! DO NOT EVER COME TO THIS ER!!!

This emergency room is so unprofessional. We are going through a pandemic and they are very laid back about protocal. I was in the emergency room waiting for almost 4 hours and the entire time a person got called to go back no one came directly after to wipe down or spray the chair. It was a mess and very dirty. The nurse told a family they could only have 1 family member with them and when argued about it she let it slide. I heard nurses talking loudly about the covid patients in specific beds and how tired the doctor was that he was making simple mistakes. I will never go to this ER again. This used to be my hospital even when i lived 40 mins away, not any more

Really rude nurses. I had to admit my uncle to the emergency room and when I can back with my aunt to visit, the nurse who was sitting there welcomed me with yes?. I asked how many people are allowed to visit and she said only one but she repeatedly said only one its like I dont get it. I was trying to show my aunt the way to the room and she again yelled only one is allowed. They need to teach their nurses how to nicely interact with patients and show empathy.

Worst experience ever! This hospital was so scared of the virus that they wouldn’t treat my mom properly neither did they try to help me. If you have to go to an emergency room don’t go here- these aren’t nurses these are cowards.

I recently came to Lutheran ED for chest pain. Immediately I was taken to chest X-ray, ekg, bloodwork, etc. I was blown away by the attention I received from nurses and technicians. Everyone was polite and caring- I felt comfortable and in good hands the entire time. There was a long wait to see the physician but I did not mind waiting for my turn. I did see many people angry for the wait time - People do not understand there is a system when it comes to emergency rooms. I saw many patients come up to the nurses at front desk yelling and being rude to them. People we are in the middle of a pandemic ! You have to be patient! Emergency rooms will always take hours to be seen- everyone is in pain- everyone has to wait their turn. If you go up & ask what’s taking so long - it will not make them see you any faster. Unless you’re dead and passed out on the floor then Ofcourse they will attend to you immediately. But if you’re alive and breathing you have to wait your turn. Please have respect for these nurses and doctors working and risking their lives to help you. Everyone has pain- everyone has problems - we have to be patient and understanding. These staff have feelings and emotions - you cannot treat them like that while they’re doing their job. Sometimes things are out of their control. Anyways - I want to thank Lutheran General Hospital Emergency room staff for their kindness and attention. I truly appreciate all of you & thank you for your service.

I honestly do not have a single bad experience from this hospital. They took excellent care of my brother over the many years. I visited them after unfortunately going to NCH (STAY AWAY FROM THEM). Lutheran took me in immediately to see a nurse to do an EKG, blood work, and take my BP. The ER doctor spent ample time with me and genuinely took his time to listen to me and find a reason for my pain. The nurses were amazing and very sweet. The wait was long for a room in the back because they were completely packed, but once youre back there they honestly care about you. Amazing team of doctors and care.

DON’T come here as if your life depends on it. The ER Doctors NEVER contacted my family with the plan of care they dreamt up for me. Ignorant and lied about my treatment in their charts. The pain they caused me will be with me forever. 14 straight hours with no real care!! They should review their HIPPOCRATIC oath before they go to work or get out of the healing business, never again!!!

They do a good job taking care of you, the doctors and nurses are wonderful but the front desk emergency room staff at night is terrible. Four people sitting straight across, you walk in, no one looks up, you don’t know which person to go to. They’re all sitting there with the most miserable looks on their faces. And when they finally talk to you they have a nasty attitude. Immediately tell you to sit down. If they can’t handle working as the first point of contact in a high stress situation, they shouldn’t be working there. Seek your care elsewhere if you can.

The worst hospital! They misdiagnosed my daughter who was swollen every day, they sent her home saying nothing was wrong after waiting for hours in the ER waiting room! I took her to Rush, where she was diagnosed with nephrotic syndrome, a rare kidney disorder! Again today, I brought my 86 year old mother who was having severe abdominal burning and pain during urination, and what did they do? Make her wait in the waiting room for two hours, and still haven’t called her to bring her back! She’s elderly and sick!!! They were bringing people in the back who were smiling, with nothing!!! How could they allow this? Are they stupid? My mom was pale white, severely sick and they have her in the waiting room waiting like she’s a twenty year old with a common cold!!!! This place should be sued! The nurses are busy drinking their soft drinks, laughing and having a good ole time, meanwhile patients are suffering! I hate this hospital! Never again!! I’d rather go to Northwestern or Rush where senior patients are treated first!!!

Took my friend here at 4am. The waiting room only had one guy but the wait time was at least 2 hours before he could be checked out. He was in horrible pain for hours prior and is concerned its serious, which he told the nurse.Nurse wasnt flat out rude she just was not helpful at all. I asked her a simple question and she couldnt/didnt answer. Now were at amita where the waiting room is about the same but my friend got checked out right away and is now waiting results. The staff is incredibly friendly as well and actually smiles at us and makes us feel welcome.
