She did my colonoscopy two years ago and also the summer of 2020 very good doctor highly recommended very caring knowledgeable great doctor would definitely recommend her to anyone if you read this Dr McDonald thank you again

Dr. McDonald was the first doctor I was referred to when I started having GI issues. She went in and did a scope and completely missed the slam dunk symptom for celiac disease. She then had me approve a genetic test (not covered by my insurance, which she knew) while I was still under anesthesia. $4,000 bill later, 2 weeks of battling and a few calls from a malpractice attorney and she finally took care of the bill. Went to Froedtert where I was diagnosed in 5 minutes off the images of the scope McDonald did.I would highly recommend skipping over her and going to Milwaukee, Madison or Mayo instead.

Dr McDonald is a wonderful and very personable Dr.Her staff is wonderful and helpful.She will take the time to explain things in simple terms I can understand.Highly recommend her for your gastro issues.

Unbelievable-was going to switch back to this doctor as our insurance plan changed and doctor was now in coverage plan again and I was told that because I had to switch 4+ years ago because doctor was no longer within our network and I did not call them to update them (even though new doctor had gotten records from their office) that I am now a non-compliant patient and they do not want to have me as a patient. This looks like a failing practice. Highly do not recommend.

Office staff was very sweet and understanding. They walked me through what was going to happen for a colon/egd. Then the paperwork clearly stated what time to take each different laxatives to clean the colon out. She knew right away what was wrong with me. She however did her do obligation and did the gold standard test. After this her office got me into see a dietitian within a couple days. This whole process happen within 3 weeks of being referred to her!!!

If I could give Dr. Mary McDonald 10 stars I would. She was excellent at explaining my dads situation in laymans terms even though Im a doctor. She did it for my mom. She saved my dads life. Excellent doctor!!!!!!

I had an awful experience with this doctor in the mid 90s. She was rude and poor bedside manner. Her nurse was just as bad. After reading the reviews, I can see things havent changed.

My GI issues were obviously beyond the comfort of Dr. McDonalds expertise. Instead of doing the ethical thing, and referring me to another specialist, she just told me theres nothing that can be done. Additionally, when I called to follow-up after my first appointment, her staff said I needed to make an appointment. I made an appointment, just to sit there and have Dr. McDonald tell me theres nothing left to try. Thats a message that could have easily been discussed over the phone, but instead her staff had me make an appointment, costing me a copay, and earning Dr. McDonald undeserved money. During my appointment, I asked Dr. McDonald about an herbal regiment that had been scientifically studied, and she said she had never heard of it, but I could try taking turmeric because its all the rage these days. I clearly wasnt looking to jump on a random herbal fad, I was (and still am) looking for a fix to my GI issues. Would not recommend Dr. McDonald to anyone.If you are looking for a reputable gastroenterologist in the Fox Cities area, I would recommend Associates in Gastroenterology S.C. in Appleton, WI. Dr. Siddiqui and his staff care greatly about their patients and do whatever it takes to resolve your issues.

The process is very impersonal. Great referral to the office and then the communication process was a total failure. The only clear aspect is the procedure time and date. Disappointing style of communication. The information sent via mail has more to do with HIPA, giving the patient busy work to fill out information already provided to the provider and creates more worry than needed. As a patient I felt more like a colon or rectum than a human. I was never asked how I felt. Scary experience. Does anyone there truly care?

Horrible Doctor, no bedside manner, rude, offensive and doesn’t care. I almost died, because of her! I requested numerous times to come in for blood work and she would say NO! I slowly was dying on her watch, finally when she realized she couldn’t do anything she referred me to UW Madison. When I got to UW I had severe ulcerative colitis, severe malnutrition, c-diff and barely made it. We were going to sue her, but it’s too costly. Under NO circumstances should you go to her!!

I have known Dr. Mary McDonald both professionally and personally for almost 20 years, and have worked for her for the past 16 years. Dr. McDonald is an excellent physician, who truly cares about her patients, and really does provide exceptional care regardless of age, race, gender, and socio-economic status. If I could rate Zero stars I would. First, the office staff didnt know the difference with insurance cards and said, well dont they come out of the same pot? Um, no. Then when I saw Dr. McDonald, she was more concerned with having me do a procedure than she was with treating my Crohns Disease. She called me by a different first name that wasnt even close to my name.When I told her what happens when I drink the prep, she said I dont care. At that point, I left.
