This is my favorite YMCA by far. It’s conveniently located to many large communities. They have a large quantity of workout equipment so there’s always a way to get what you need to do done. They also offer many different classes. There really is something for everyone.

This ymca location needs to learn from the Roper Ymca. Service and friendliness has been mediocre here at DP. The wellness floor crew are not friendly at all (besides Dana). Multiple cardio equipment doesnt have the screens or full functions working.

I was recommended this place by a friend for my daughter(who’s autistic and really in need of swimming lessons) and niece to do semi private swim lessons. The girls were so excited and had been looking forward to this. We set them up with Bobby over the phone for their first lesson with Sophia. When we got to their first appointment we paid and went to the pool. When we got outside we went to the instructors and they looked at my sister and I like they had no idea who Sophia was. After discussing with themselves they told us Sophia wasn’t in town. This was our first problem! Why didn’t Bobby know Sophia wasn’t going to be there when he set this appointment? Okay so they were with Gina. Gina was great and kindly informed us that she wasn’t going to be there the following week so the girls would be with Sophia. After we left we got no further instructions on how to schedule the rest of their lessons. I spent a week emailing and calling with different answers each time, one saying “oh you were supposed to set the future lessons with the instructor”, one saying we could do it over the phone, one person telling me they would have Ian call me back. Needless to say, Ian did not call me, so went there and spoke with Henny who said he would email Ian and he gave us Ian’s email so we could also email him. Still no call, no email. Unprofessional, unorganized, and TERRIBLE at communicating AFTER they get your money!

ZERO% chlorine level in the pool advised to us when my 2 year old took his first swim lesson here last Saturday, Sep 25, which included blowing bubbles in the pool (this was near the end of the session, @ 25 mins in). Now why was the water not tested prior to a class for 6 months - 3 year olds? And there were older kids and elderly in there prior we saw. Testing water every morning before people enter should be basic 101 of pool safety....

Great facilities but unfortunately some classes are getting ridiculous crowded. COVID hasn’t disappeared and they don’t seem to care. Still they are not willing to open more classes to distribute people better, specially during peak hours in the morning. They should bring iPad back to the CDC for check in. Its faster and I don’t have to leave my YMCA ID so I can use it for check in to the gym. New check in system with phone doesn’t work very well and when you ask front desk they either don’t know or don’t take the time to explain. I’m starting to feel that they are just looking at the numbers and don’t care very much about customer service anymore.Hair dryers in the women’s locker doesn’t work , I have notified two times now and nobody seems to care. Like someone said . We are paying same prices but getting less quality services :(.

Beautiful facility, however I wish I could give this place a negative 5 star rating. First thing is some tool named Bobby at the front aka mr personality. Doesnt smile let alone look up at you half the time when hes dealing with you. If you are gonna have staff at the front at least have people who smile and arent stone faced clowns. Asked to speak to the other clown, his boss but I guess he either hides in his office all day or he leaves early. On the other hand, the Zumba teacher Michelle is the only bright spot for us in that place. Always helpful and is hustling every time I see her. Checked out the Roper one, which has much nicer people. Just my experience.

I wish they go back to regular hours on Saturday and Sunday’s. How do you charge the regular prices post pandemic and provide less services. I understand cleaning and all the comes with pandemic. Some one needs to move the needle forward on this. The optics are not good especially with old times on the door.

We have little time being members of YNCA, choosing this because it is a gym that invites families, but I must say that in the last two weeks, we have had two disagreements with the children. The first is that my older son was using the treadmill, when a lady comes up and tells her to get off because she wants to use it. Having so many machines of the same style, she craved that. My son, with all due respect, sedimented the machine, but without ceasing to be outraged by the imposing form of the lady. This week, the youngest son was using the snowshoe court, when an instructor arrived with his students and abruptly took him out of the court for her to give a workout class or something similar. What is also surprising is that my son was finishing his time and then it was the turn of another father with his son the turn.Well, this does not matter either, the instructor took the field regardless, it is not made for that use and there were also people present. Here is where I ask myself:Is it a family enclosure? Children deserve respect? or am I affiliated with a site where I should protect my children from users?I add that I took the complaint to the desk at the entrance and the person who answered me said that his policy gave him the right to take this type of action to the instructors and to make a new reservation.Another architecture that shows where the bad administration of the spaces comes from ...

Great place in general, my family and kids have been members for 20+ years. BUT would appreciate if they hired “competent” and “respectful” staff. Very childish and petulant higher ups. Seems as if a few of them are in an alliance? Maybe have a relationship outside work? Anyway, it’s clear some staff need some training on how to approach certain situations when it comes to dealing with members.

It is not good when visiting to the gym requires preparing to be assaulted by the miserable staff of unhappy members. My entire family and I (7 adults and children) have been long time members of this YMCA, and all agree it has become absolutely unbearable. It has drastically digressed into a mess of people fighting, staff patronizing members, arbitrary rules and pure greed. They impose arbitrary rules that change everyday (such as what dot on the floor youre supposed to stand on - no kidding), and then when you dont comply (because who knows what they are), they publicly shame and chastise you.Not to mention that they continue to collect your full membership dues when theyre closed, including being closed for 3 months during COVID, and still to this day more than 5 months after they reopened are still charging full price, even though theyre only operating at half the hours and capacity.I have 28 years of great memories there but today, wouldnt wish this place on my worst enemy.

I have tried several gyms in the Orlando area, and I can truly say this is the best one I have been to! Dedicated and friendly staff, incredibly clean facilities, and amazing group exercise classes. Personal trainers are also available to assist you in meeting your fitness goals. There is truly something for everyone , whether its cycling, dance classes, or any of the strength classes offered throughout the week. The renovations are coming along nicely, and it has been wonderful to be a part of the changes they are making! We have new locker rooms, a new strength studio, and a new studio for yoga classes. Ive been a YMCA member for 3 years, then I cancel the account for one year. I decided to rejoin YMCA last month (Feb-2018) and right after I sign up I got sick so I couldnt use the facilities. I went there today (March 21st 2018) to put the account on hold and spoke to 2 young ladies in the balcony and both said that I should pay $10 to hold the account or cancel it. If I cancel I need to pay an extra month because I didnt give the notice 30 days prior to the due date. Guys, my due date is April first and we are in March 21st, what kind of Bureaucracy is this? Who do you guys think you are? Continuing my history, I showed the lady all my doctor papers but she didnt give a damn about it, didnt even read. I felt really bad.So I will end up paying $144.00 without using the facilities. If I have zero stars I would give them zero, terrible customer service by both ladies but I only remember one name, Aline.I will never recommend this place to anyone else.Oh, now I can add photos in the review so I will post the doctors note so you will be sure I am saying the truth.
