To those of you who wrote negative reviews. I am sure you must have the wrong doctor. Dr J Dean Cole is probably the best doctor I have been treated by. He works near miracles and that I have heard from many many people in person. My ankle replacement was complicated to say the least. It went perfe3ct and Advent Health was the best hospital I have been admitted to. Professional, courteous and very very helpful. I basically had no pain except for a little minor that was taken care of by Tylenol. Never took 1 pain pill. The Surgery was flawless and I am a big guy but now I have Stability and can walk again. Those naysayers must really have problems communicating or they are just big Crybabies. Dr Cole will receive Christmas gifts from me for the rest of my life. And if I have any issues with bones, Knees hips or the like. He will be the first one I contact. Hands down one of the best Surgeons in the Country. Do your Research and meet him before you go with these winers on Google reviews. The Facts Speak for Themselves.

Let me start off by saying that we never met doctor Cole, however his front staff at least one of the women was completely insensitive and rude ! We have health first my wife got diagnosed with a Labral tear on her left side of her hip. Not only have we been waiting for a month but when we finally get a call back the lady there was absolutely rude and Was very insensitive. We asked her several times why? And the only answer she gave us was there’s nothing he can do. This guy actually does these type of surgery but I’m guessing since we are out of his net work he didn’t want to lose any money. I love living in Florida however the medical field here is horrible. All they care about is money. It’s so sad that there is no one to hold these people accountable.

The 25th anniversary of me falling 27 ft to concrete just passed last month for me. Dr Cole installed a rod in right femur at that time as part my repair. I am now almost 60 yes old, and as God is my witness, I have absolutely no pain or awareness that anything is different between my right & left leg. I actually have to look sometimes where the scar is, to remember which leg it is. My job as an AC Mechanic is very demanding, and I also run about 1.25 miles, 5 times or so every week, and I take anti inflammatories, and antioxidants regularly, but I just want to take the opportunity at this milestone to salute and thank Dr Cole, from the bottom of my heart, for doing such an incredibly good job on me.Thank You Sir.

I had fractured two bones in my left ankle in 2004 and went to the ER at Florida Hospital.Dr. Cole was my attending surgeon.I had underwent surgery and had two long screws placed in each broken bone and a cable of some sort inserted. After months after healing from the fractures my ankle always felt like it was in a vice clamp and I was not able to jump, pivot or run with the hardware in my ankle. This all lasted until about 4 years later I went back to Dr. Cole and asked him to remove all the hardware as various people had told me they felt better after having hardware removed.Dr. Cole did remove everything except one screw as if would have left a void to large. After the second surgery I immediately felt much better and was a lot happier!Heres what I think about Dr. Cole...he is probably one of the best surgeons in the COUNTRY.He is a no non-sense kind of guy, he gets down to business quickly.Hes seen the worst of the worst and isnt too sympathetic for a couple of broken bones. He is a very busy guy, before your appointment collect your thoughts, write them out if need be. This review is long overdue. 18 years ago, I was involved in a very serious motor vehicle accident with a drunk driver on my way to work one morning. He and his team reconstructed my left leg and my pelvis and performed various surgeries over the years, most recently a total hip replacement this past January. If you want the BEST, look no further. I reached out to Dr. Coles office in November for a 2nd opinion on my knee. I was asked to have all of my Drs notes from my last visit, MRI report and xrays sent for him to review. I was then told a few days later that i absolutely needed knee surgery but that i needed to lower my BMI first. Over the next 4 months i managed to lose 44 lbs and got my weight well below what i was asked. Then all that i needed to do was have my primary doctor send in my height and weight in order to verify the BMI. I did that and then got a call from Dr. Coles office saying that there was nothing that he could do for me. How do we go from saying that i absolutely need surgery to where there is nothing that he could do for me? Then when i questioned this, all that i was told was that the previous assistant is no longer there and they blamed everything on her. Poor excuse because i just lost 4 months of being able to set something up with another surgeon. They just did not care.

He and his staff are unprofessional, unethical and dont care about their existing patients. He cancelled an appointment that I had a MONTH after I ruptured my tendon because his staff said I filed a report with Florida Hospital, which I NEVER did.I do find it appalling that he would make a patient he had seen 6 months ago for A related issue, wait a month just to be seen and would not schedule the surgery he recommended I have. How does a physician make an existing patient wait for over a month in excruciating pain when they have already been seen?I was willing to wait the month but a week after scheduling his office calls with this ridiculous statement that He wont see me and is cancelling my appointment because I filed this complaint, and I didnt. Even after talking to the staff trying to explain that I didnt, they were cold hearted and unwilling to discuss the subject. His employees are afraid of him. He should not be practicing with this egomaniac attitude and no heart for his patients. He doesnt care- not a true physician and what a physician commits to when they become licensed.Im still in shock!3/20/17 - I just went to a different surgeon and have been reading online, there is a small window of opportunity to repair a tendon, if I had waited for Dr Cole, I may have lost that opportunity.

My daughter was in a horrible car accident 15 years ago, she was flown to Fl hospital and Dr. Cole was her surgeon. I feel she was so lucky to have him there that fateful morning. Both femurs were shattered and her elbow crushed, along with many other inguries. He put the pieces of her elbow back together like a jigsaw puzzle and titanium rods from hip to knees. She is an active mother of two and a dental hygienist on her feet all day. She walks and moves beautifully and the only pain she had later, came from a screw a few years ago. When it was removed she was great again.I have read reviews that he lacks bed side manner. I personally did not need hand holding and drama. He gave me the facts of the problem, his plan to fix it and and I appreciated the straightforward professional and respectful communication. I believe he is the reason my daughter is as graceful today as she was before the accident. I am grateful that Dr. cole was the orthopedic doctor on call early that morning.

My ankle was shattered 15 years ago in a Skydiving accident in California and two MAJOR hospitals refused to put all the pieces of my ankle back together again for fear that the they would have to amputate the lower part of my leg during a failed surgery. So I was left with 2 bolts in my tibia and 2 in the side of my foot connected with a metal bar that kept my foot from dangling as I hobbled around on crutches for 6 months without hope. I sold medical equipment and a sales rep who I worked with suggested Dr. Cole as a solution. Long story short, he said No problem and after 5-6 operations over the next year I was able to RUN, BOX competitively, wake board and kite board on my ankle for more than 15 years without pain and great functionality. Recently (4 days ago) Dr. Cole replaced my ankle with a metal one and the operation was so non-traumatic that I have not required any pain medication. I would highly recommend Dr. J Dean Cole for all difficult operations for people who have lost hope and told they will never be pain free fully functional again.

Ive had a short leg my whole life but as I got older and gained weight I have had a lot of pain in my longer leg. Finally three years ago a chiropractor told me I should try wearing a built up shoe. I attempted to find a doctor to measure me for a built up shoe and every orthopedic doctors office I called told me that they couldnt help with my problem because I had it since childhood and the only doctor in the central florida region who could fix my leg length problem was doctor cole. The podiatrist who I saw tried to measure my length discrepancy but couldnt give a definite measurement and told me I was a freaky case and the only doctor who might be able to deal with my problem was this doctor cole. Last year I went to see a physical therapist hoping that would help. He told me he couldnt help me at all and I should see this doctor cole in orlando. He even called their office to confirm they would take referrals. So my primary care doctor gave me a referral to doctor cole and I had an xray done and sent to their office because they said they had to have that first but they called after they got the xray and told me doctor cole couldnt help me with no explanation why. I dont understand. Other doctors who talked to me thought he could help because it was a leg length issue. I looked him up on google. He does indeed do leg lengthening. In fact he pioneered a device for leg lengthening bones but he cant see a patient with a leg length discrepancy. It breaks my heart that I am unable to get any medical help and I cant walk anymore because the built up shoe doesnt help. I feel great sadness.

In 2009 I had a catastrophic injury to my lower left leg from a 17’ fall off an extension ladder in LaGrange, GA where bones came out of the skin and were exposed to the soil in the ground which caused bone infection on top of all the crush injuries. After multiple surgeries in Georgia (1.5 years) My surgeon said amputation was looking like the best choice. I wanted to do anything possible to save my leg. Then all of the sudden my prayers were answered. I found Dr. Cole and I was able to travel to Florida to meet him. He explained to me the truth about limb salvage versus amputation and the difference in recovery times and told me that my odds were very good to save my leg, but it could take years with all the future surgeries and getting rid of the infection. I was up for the challenge and so was Dr Cole. It was hard work but Dr. Cole was right. Like everyone that will require surgery for something, in my case-a knee replacement, I began with research of all the available doctors in my area. However, in the case of an orthopedic doctor, my search soon came to special find. I have three lifelong friends that happen to know Dr. Cole and each told an amazing story about him.My neighbor of thirty years told how many years ago, her son-in-law was in a very bad car crash. The emergency room doctors told them it didnt look like his feet could be saved. She told the attending doctors they wanted Dr. Cole to review her son-in-laws condition and after that, they would decide. Dr. Cole spent seven and half hours operating on him in 2002 and it happened to be Christmas day. Today her son-in-law has no issues. She shared amazing information from both a professional and personal side and it is truly an amazing story. My family doctor for the last twenty years recommend Dr. Cole as the best hes seen in the business. His office manager, is one of our special friends and she in fact was once Dr. Coles office manager. She explained that in her career, she didnt know anyone she could recommend with higher praises than Dr. Cole. So, to that end, I wanted to share my entire journey of this knee thing in hopes that others facing the same thing would have a really detailed and clearly explained process they could read about. From the first recommendation for surgery due to the pain and wear, through the meet and greet so to speak to the actual surgery and recovery. My appointment was scheduled by a very professional receptionist for the preliminary things they need to have before you actually make the doctors visit. She was very clear and patient and worked with us in getting the records from my doctor as well as helping us through the new patient information they need to start the process. Another service professional then helped explain what I would see when I got to my appointment and she was creating a personal feel that was special and she eased many of the unknown anxieties youll naturally have. She was easy to talk to and very reassuring of the process. They help you have all the information youll need together before you even get to the appointment.Once I was there, we were greeted with a professional and welcoming smile from the front staff. The front waiting room is comfortable and there are TVs and magazines available. Everyone I talked to was happy with the experience of both Dr. Cole and his staff. I made a point to ask each patient I spoke to.When my time came, I was greeted with friendly smiles and you knew they understood you were naturally anxious. Each staff member was friendly and the time before I saw Dr. Cole was comfortable and engaging. When Dr. Cole came in, he was very approachable and friendly. He examined me, reviewed my x-rays and explained the things important to my wife and I that I would go through. He was extremely professional and above all, you simply felt like you were in the hands a of a profoundly competent surgeon and with a staff that were handpicked for the A team.He was not rushed and answered all our questions. As I mentioned, Im keeping a journal of this to share with others that will face the same thing. I have friends that used other surgeons and after my research, some of my other friends are now looking to discuss their knee problems with Dr. Cole.I read the one review that appeared to be from a person with a healthcare background. What that person described was nothing like the positive experience we had with Dr. Cole and his staff. Sometimes you do wait in life, its a reality for us all. Including the doctors.Ill continue my review as I go forward with this. In the mean time, if you need a orthopedic surgeon, I recommend you give Dr. Cole a consideration. Just Google what hes done in his life. I was totally amazed and impressed.

I saw Dr. Cole in April of 2018 to remove hardware in my left leg from a previous tib fib fracture from a fall down stairs that a doctor in his practice had originally placed in my leg from 2005 or 2006. My husband and I advised the original doctor from his office that performed the surgery that something wasnt right in our follow up appointments as the pain was still there, but he dismissed our complaints sooo I just learned to live with it and try and tolerate it. Fast forward to 2018 and taking at least 12 tylenol a day(and NO I did not take ANY pain meds other than tylenol) in addition to wrapping my leg with ace bandages and putting icy hot. It finally got to be too much so my primary suggested I needed to go back to the surgeons ofiice. I did and while Dr. Cole tried to dissuade me from my decision to remove the hardware, I stood my ground and he agreed to remove the hardware in outpatient surgery. Well it is now almost December and while the pain in my leg is gone, the knee that he went through in order to remove the hardware is in pain, I cant bend it all the way theres still some swelling and a big knot right where the incision is. I tried calling the office about 3 weeks ago and was told theyd talk with Dr. Cole and get back to me..... STILL WAITING 🤔!!! In my personal opinion, he does seem to have what I would call a God Complex. Hes very short and brief with his patients. Would I recommend him, NOOOOO!!!! Mary was the secreteary that called me and I hope that she never gets a phone telling here she was to far gone and not knowing why. My name for appt. information is Sharon Coleman this occured 9-20-2017 this will be a day I will never forget. I hoper this review well help other people if they have the same problem with office staff Mary. I want to append to my review I received a phone call from Ronda the next day and she explained to me DR. Coles decission of why he could not do surgery on me. She explained it to me with a good medical reason and she reassured me that it was because my surgery had been to far back from previous surgeries . And I want to thank her for re-assurance. Dr. Cole is lucky to have her. I would recommend him.

THIS PLACE IS LIKE A FACTORY. YOU GO IN X-RAYS. THEN HE HAS AN ASSISTANT COME ASK YOU SAME QUESTIONS OVER AND OVER THEN FINALLY WHEN HE GOES IN HE SEES YOU FOR FEWS MINUTES 2 MAYBE 3 MINUTES IF YOU LUCKY!!!! WHY CANT HE SPEND TIME ? AGAIN FACTORY SETTING YOU ARE A NUMBER HE CAN BILL THE MORE YOU BILL THE MORE MONEY. SO HE HAS 5-8 ROOMS HE FILLS THEM AND GOES AROUND FOR A FEW MINUTES NO HUMAN CAN REALLY KNOW ANOTHER LIKE THIS. CALL IT SPEED DOCTOR SURGEON THE MONEY PEOPLE (FINANCIAL DEPT.) HERE ARE SAVAGES THERE IS NO HUMAN WHO WANTS TO UNDERSTAND PEOPLES LIVES . THEY SAY THESE SURGERIES ARE OPTIONAL NOT NECESSARY SO WHAT YOU ARE IN PAIN AND CANT WALK OR SLEEP OR WORK. SO IF YOU CANT PAY THE WHOLE BILL OR COPAY THEN THEY WILL WAIT UNTIL YOU CAN BEFORE THEY TAKE YOU. THEY EVEN THREATEN TO RESCHEDULE SURGERY EVEN AFTER HALF OF (MINE WAS WAS $400 CO-PAY) WAS PAID. THEY ARE BULLIES AND HAVE SAID THEY ARE ACTING ON THE DR COLES DEMANDS. YES THIS IS THE HOSPITAL BUT DR COLE HAS HIS OWN WING AND ALLEGES IS NOT PART OF THE HOSPITAL WHEN IT COMES TO HIS MONEY. SO I GUESS THIS MAKES IT EASIER TO BULLY THE PEOPLE. IF YOU ARE POOR OR CANT PAY YOU DO NOT GET THE BEST DOCTOR FOR YOUR SURGERY. THAT IS NOT A SURPRISE IS IT? I AM DONE WITH THIS PLACE.

I walk today without pain due to the skill of Dr. J.Dean Cole and his staff. Yes, at times there was a long wait for an office visit, but a small price to pay for such a good outcome.

Dr Cole did my second hip replacement which was made necessary due to a fall which resulted in a broken femur. I must also note that the original prosthetic hip was among the Stryker recall, of which I had no knowledge of. Dr. Cole replace the bad prosthetic placed and wired a rod to support my femur. This doctor is a fraud -- as are so many. He basically pre-screens and determines whether he can help a patient without even having seen them, just based on a report, that is from a radiologist, without any attention to biomechanics, patient individuality, history, goals, or analysis of imaging. He, like so many surgeons (who think that means they have seen everything), empowers his staff to follow criterion for evaluating whether patients should be seen or not, which basically mean that people without a medical degree are determining whether people can be seen or helped or not. Moreover, the phone staff feels that because he gets thousands of requests a day that he is entitled to have this kind of screening process -- I guess he is so in demand that there is no need to be a thorough and caring and visionary surgeon). And the dialogue that happens with one patient and one office happens with hundreds of patients and providers and hundreds of offices and hundreds of times a day -- and this is why we have exorbitant opportunity costs in Healthcare and a massive inability to improve the quality of life of patients... It is a process that facilitates inertia and disease-state and is aided by the crippling HIPPA compliance laws that claim they are to help patients privacy but really just prevent doctors from getting sued and keep patients spinning their wheels, going in circles, performing ridiculous repetitive requests, accommodating the rules and regulations and codes and restrictions of testing centers that are linked to institutions, and that ultimately disempower the patient and eliminate the ability for their to be any patient-centered or team-centered cross-institutional medicine and progress.

Very important detail when trying to make an appointment with the SRA. FRANCIS. It tells me that my case has to be re-evaluated since I expire. Which I understood perfectly. When asked more or less, he knows how long it takes to tell me that he doesnt know how to tell me. I asked him the question and I explain it is to notify more or less in my work. And again NOSE MRS. And besides you have been called several times very rudely, I indicated it and I told you that I also called and I could not communicate for the wait. I would like to tell you that we are human beings and things can happen to us. It remains of you. THANK YOU...
