The 7th, 8th and 9th floor doctors, nurses and techs and all the hospital staff are wonderful! My hubby stayed there for almost 3 weeks and I knew he was in good hands. The best thing that I loved was the partnership I felt with them and they listened and we worked together on his best treatment plan. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts to all who cared for him during this very difficult time for us.

In all of my years of experience with varied hospitals and cancer care, I have NEVER seen such blatant lack of care, concern, or communication. If you ask three medical professionals here the same simple question simultaneously, you will get three different answers. They have no problem telling one member of your family they found cancer spread & telling another they did not - or providing contradictory information on your care & prognosis. They think nothing of leaving you in filth if theyre not in the mood to handle it & they certainly have NO patience & sensitivity - critical in the practice of cancer care!! At best, they just dont know what theyre doing & are dangerous due to the inaccuracy & ignorance. At worst - they are knowingly causing blatant harm & simply do not care. It is not too much to ask for & expect COMMUNICATION from medical pros in charge of your LIFE & care, but this hospital is simply unable to meet these basic expectations - which is very scary, really! When these concerns are brought to their attention, responses include sorry- stuff happens & well, YOU have to be sympathetic. Ummm... NO. If you choose to be a medical professional, have a heart & understand that responsibility. You are expected to help people at the worst moments of their lives. They are scared - their family is scared - it is YOUR task to be sympathetic - especially when all youve done is add to the physical and emotional ailments you are trained to help.FOLLOW UP - After mistreatment, lies, negligence & incompetence left our seriously ill family member in worse shape than when she was admitted - and hysterically terrified - we whisked her out of there to a REAL hospital where we have come to find out ALL of the serious misdiagnoses and blatant screw-ups by UF Health. We were entirely lied to/misled about our loved ones health & now this hospital is REFUSING to release her records so that she may obtain timely, critical care from REAL professionals!!! Come to find out even further - our loved one was CONNED into going to UF Health to be a LAB RAT to begin with - not for care at all!!!! THIS IS AN ABSOLUTE NIGHTMARE & I truly thought this did not happen in the American healthcare system. I have NEVER seen anything like this - sickening & disgraceful. I am horrified! And no... there is no discussion to be had. We have had enough of your excuses & nonchalance.

When my husband was first diagnosed with cancer everyone was on top of everything, didn’t have to worry about anything but after a year I don’t know what has happened to Doctor Kaliegh office but I have to stay on top of them on everything and then when I get upset all they can say is I’m so sorry you are having to go through this ! Someone is not doing there job when the doctor orders the next round of chemo and 3 weeks later I am still waiting for a schedule. Not to mention the calls to the office to check on a schedule and to let them know that the reason I am concerned is it is very hard on him to be there by 7:30 in the morning so it was important to get a schedule so that he could get in a time slot around 9:00 am ! So I get a call today around 5:15 saying he has an appointment at 7:30 Friday morning will we be able to make it ! I don’t normally write reviews but I feel I need to let people know before you decide to come here for chemo you might want to reconsider! You can’t blame everything on insurance company’s!

A week ago, I was told my husband has lung cancer. A week later, we get a call about radiation appt. We have not been able to get our doctor to call us or even discuss the prognosis. We finally get a call from another doctor who was obviously unfamiliar with his case. Informed consent is clearly not something this center has ever heard of. Curious to see how if any one there will be able to give us any information or if theyll just be calling for more credit card informationUpdate: you have 6 months. Dont know what kind of cancer. Here is a hospice. No, we cant be bothered to provide you more info. Go home. Die soon or consultation in 2 weeks. Thank you for the meaningless platitudes, youre so caring.

If you ever get a cancer diagnosis there is only one place to go! Here!!! I cant say it enough. My first diagnosis of non small cell lung cancer was in 2016. Living in the greater Orlando I had choices. I also have 2 sisters in the Atlanta area so that was an option also. After quite a bit of research i determined that UFHCC had the most up to date treatment options, award winning doctors and a load of support groups. It was hands down the best decision i ever made. I was blessed to have Drs. Jennifer Tseng, Justin Rineer and Chad Kollas among others on my team. Cancer is tough but it happens. This team along with the transportation and guest services are the best. They made the best out of a bad thing. I have had chemo, radiation and proton therapy for my first and second diagnosis (1 year later) and they made ir so easy. Did i have bad days, of course! Did i have support? Hell yes! It is now 2020 and to date i am cancer free. I wouldnt be here with out this place. Physical and emotional support was always available.Thank you to my great team and a great organization. Im 67 and still going strong!Love you all!Sue Meza

Took my mom out of their care, it was so bad. Surgeon recommended trying to save her toe, after the cancer had been misdiagnosed for two years, and it cost my 62 year old mom her life. They tried blaming her for their mistakes when they didnt have her biopsy results after several weeks of calling and asking for results. The last straw when was when she had difficulty breathing one day. She called in the morning to ask what she should do and the call was returned at 4:40. We had already called another facility and they were admitting her and sending her for emergent procedures. It was ridiculous how many times they dropped the ball.

The issue that I have is that when it comes to “health care” ORMC/UFHealth sucks! Surgery was schedule for March 20 (2 months after seeing surgeon). On 3/14 we went for the pre-op, the radiation doctor knew that surgery was not going to be perform & the only thing he kept saying was “IF the surgery is a success then we can start radiation…” he mentioned his age & how lucky we are to have him this long but we will wait and see….On March 16 we were told that surgery couldn’t be done because the doctor had left unexpectedly. On March 19 other surgeon called me & “sorry, we cannot perform the surgery the only thing we can do is radiation now”. That day we received a letter stating: due to unexpected reasons the surgery has been cancelled we will get in touch with you by April 5!... I started calling demanding I speak with someone because we couldn’t wait 2 more weeks. We were given an appt with another doctor; he said the tumor had grown, surgery was not an option but radiation was & I’m sending the info to the doctor so he can start right away. That evening we got a call stating appt for the radiation consult was for March 26! The next day I called several #s, I sent 2 faxes begging for someone to please realize the urgency of the matter so we can start doing something for my father. After much delay & going back & forth his nurse called & said: I spoke with the doctor & he said he can wait till the 26! I was furious, I told her how you could say he can wait when you see him declining every day and nobody is doing anything about it. So we were given another appt for the 22 for the consult & the 23 to make some kind of mask but since it takes like 5 days, the doctor has to make the radiation treatment then it won’t start till about April 2! Finally the 2nd comes along & we start radiation, after the first week we tell the doctor his cheek is draining too much, the wound is getting larger it doesn’t look good, can we try to drain more and clean it up… he said we are doing everything we can & is normal. The 2nd week of radiation started having fever & we were told that he might be dehydrated to give him plenty of fluids. Wednesday came and he was told he needed IV fluid, we were sent to the doctor’s office waited almost 2 hours-nobody even showed up. Friday came, we went for the radiation, he was weak, disoriented; after the radiation we were taken to the ER. Test was done & we were told to say our good byes because he had maybe 24 hrs. left…. They also explained that the tumor was “putrid” and all this time the decaying was being swallowed and got into his body and no matter how much antibiotics we give him there was nothing we could do…. Devastated by this terrible news the family gather around him to see him take his last breath on April 14. So my question to you Sir is: if this is a “cancer center” why is it that you take your sweet time to treat someone? Do you think that because is weekends then we as patients don’t get sick? If the patient shows aggressiveness on his diagnosis why are appts given so far apart? Are your doctors so immune to the needs of their patients that they look the other way & don’t take in consideration that they have love ones & families? Isn’t a hospital supposed to give the best care possible to the one in need regardless of race or age?I know that we all have to go some day & that yes my father was older but the pain I have is to know and see my father declined and to know that your doctors did not do anything to help him…. He DID NOT deserve to die with a rotten, putrid, decaying tumor inside his cheek. The negligence from your care caused his rapid declined and demise.

Scheduled an appointment for second opinion and inquiry into cutting-edge treatments for recurrent ovarian cancer. Arrived on time with my paperwork pre-filled out and all records had been sent the week before. Waited 2 hours to see the doctor, and the Wi-Fi in the office was worthless so I could not work during the long wait time. I was treated indifferently, and was given no new information. Any questions I had about cutting-edge treatments used at other cancer centers around the country was met with a shrug, and a vague that might be a treatment in the future. Their solution was the standard, old-fashioned full-body kill-it-all with the usual chemo. Nothing leading edge here, and I feel like I completely wasted my time and money. Too bad they cut their affiliation with MD Andersen. I would not recommend.

My name is Glenn, and I am a patient at Orlando UFHealth Cancer Center, I was admitted with 4th stage kidney cancer, and the truth be told, the Grim Reaper had me in his clutches.....I was on my deathbed when Dr. Bose & his team battled the Reaper, and saved my life. The hospital makes decisions based on humanitarian needs as opposed to other hospitals that prioritize patient care based on hospitals profits. There are no investors on their Board of Directors. at UFhealth Center, they truly care about people first. If you know someone who has cancer, or you have cancer, this is where you want to be, not in a hospital that does cancer as a sideline. Thanks to all at the UFhealth Cancer Center for giving me a second chance at life, and I might add, their after care is second to none.

You may want to think twice about UF Health Cancer Center. I have stayed at many hospitals in the 20 years that my son has endured 2 different cancers and this hospital by far falls well below one star. We were referred to Dr H coming from pediatrics and my son was in a remission at the time, just there for check ups but I was concerned July of 2014 and called many times to explain to the staff and Dr H that something was wrong. The phone system is very difficult and gives you a run around every time. The physicians do not want to be reached nor do they care if there is an emergency. After 2 months of asking for labs and having to do some elsewhere and a cat scan. Dr H finally agreed to see my son and see if there was something going on. He examined him and said hes fine probably just a virus. We would not leave until he looked at the scans that were taken at the Pulmonologist which he gave me attitude about going to look at.. When he came back in he room he had an entirely different look! Yes my son had relapsed with ALL and he had no clue! No apologies and when my son who was now 23 years old reacted poorly with the crushing news, Dr H looked at me and said if he is going to have this attitude I will not treat him! Egos are very important here and Dr H wanted to experiment with a trial I am assuming because he finally found a good candidate for his own merits not because it was the best therapy for my son. I did call a doctor at Shands who called me back late on a Friday night, Dr H never calls you and would not even think of picking up the phone or answering and email on a weekend! Big difference when a doctor goes out of his way to help a patient and that is what the Dr did at Shands. We did continue treatment at Shands and though Dr H did not agree or think he would get in a remission he did. No thanks to UF cancer center. I will say that some of the staff is very nice though they only have a couple rooms that are warm, the rest are very cold and bare with TVs from the 1970s. All the money went into the outside and lobby to attract the investors. The rooms are sterile and the nurses on the cancer floor have a dont care attitude and if you try and find one good luck the halls are empty. We did have a stay there during treatment at Shands because we live here in Orlando. He had an infection and was on chemotherapy and had to be admitted. They did scans to rule out a fungal infection and the Fellow called me to tell me that my son had disease in his spine, liver and kidneys! I said Leukemia is a blood cancer and does not spread to those organs and he said oh its probably spread from the liver cancer he had when he was 4 years old! Ok really is this what they teach and was the radiologist just lazy when he read the scans I never did get a good answer only that no he did not have metastatic disease! I was billed for all this and no excuses were ever given. Just a note if you dont click with a Doctor dont try to change because that is unheard of you get what you get! If you try you will get a nice phone call from the Director of the hospital, Lindsey, who has no clue about the treatment or protocols of the center and she will very abruptly tell you to not come back because all the doctors treat the same there.

Might be ok for trauma, but not for cancer! Go to Moffitt or anywhere else and youll be shocked how much more you will learn from doctors instead of only hearing the same old sales pitch with no results. I found the UF cancer center to be one of the worst experiences possible. John Graham is absolutely terrible (screwed up a very painful procedure and was arrogant to the point of confrontation), and even the main doctor was not good (Landau) all about giving a pitch, but barely knows what hes talking about.
