For sure they are nice and keep it fun, but thats not what I went for. Plus, they get paid by commission--an eyebrow raiser right there. The hygienist and dentist convinced me that my gums were infected and talked me into getting the SPR cleaning for periodontitis before I found out that I had none of the symptoms! No bleeding or sensitive gums, and they hadnt requested previous records to base their findings on. My family talked me into getting a 2nd opinion. That and my personal research proved that my $438.20 had been for nothing. I just needed a regular cleaning. Also, beware the deal for those without insurance. If I had walked out of the office without paying $299.00 on the spot, I wouldnt have qualified for the 20% off from paying that membership fee. That reminded me of a used car lot. If you leave, the deals off. (So yeah, the cost for that SPR cleaning was for 20% above $438.20.)So my advice, dont go there. At least go somewhere else first and have these guys be your 2nd opinion and be sure to call around for prices! The dentist who did my 2nd opinion said I could have their deal for people with no insurance ($99 cheaper than Merits) if I paid on the visit when they did some work on me. Plus they are trustworthy and theyve received the Best of Utah Valley award for many years. My work was done at Merits Orem office. Dr. DeLoach in the Draper Merit Dental owns Orem and the Draper offices, but he was of no help with my grievance.
