This place just wants your money like every other healthcare establishment. If you’re ever unlucky enough to need a deep cleaning, they’ll start coding all your preventive cleanings as periodontal maintenance so you get a big fat bill instead of insurance covering the work like it’s supposed to. (Zero informed consent about this, by the way. The whole time you’re there, they simply refer to the procedure as a cleaning ... because that’s what it is.) On top of that, they pay NO attention to the frequencies on your insurance before scheduling you for cleanings, so you better learn your policy inside-out or prepare to get screwed. I’ve gotten so many surprise charges from this place I had to cancel Christmas this year. I would rather they just be evil to my face. Shameful excuse for a practice.

My whole experience at South Sound Family Dentistry and Dentures was wonderful. Fred Ellis and the staff were friendly, courteous and knowledgeable. They made me feel comfortable for my appointments and prepared for the follow up care. They did beautiful work and I am proud of my new smile! I highly recommend them to anyone. First off knowing that I needed a full set of dentures wasnt a great thought. I had the top plate, but both kinda bothered me. But after my first visit, I felt so sure I was going to be just fine and everything was going to be great! And it was! The office is warm and the staff is so happy and friendly, and the dentist is caring and gentle in his work. He is excellent and I love what he did for me. After handcrafting a partial denture, south sound family dental was able to remove 8 teeth (in one hour long appointment) and let me walk out with a perfect smile. The extractions went so smoothly I was able to go to work the next day after only taking Advil. If youre looking for a place that treats you like family and wont judge you on the condition your teeth are in, this is the place.

South Sound Family Dental & Dentures is amazing.. My first time there they made fill like part of there family...The staff is so amazing and so kind and nice... I will refer everyone and anyone to this beautiful place that is allowing me to have a beautiful smile finally and they were so wonderful about me feeling good... I am petrified of the dentist, as you can see from the pictures below, my teeth really needed treatment. I had not been near a dentist for over 30 yrs. I went to visit Fred for a consultation about two weeks ago, he and the staff there are absolutely fantastic, so much so that I had all me teeth removed and had dentures fitted. I had no after pain, and no recollection of the procedure, conducted by Dr Mcharry. So if you are petrified of the dentist I highly recommend South Sound Family Dental and Dentures..

I love how my new Dental Office made me feel so comfortable, even though I have not seen a Dentist in years. I got to see the Denturist Fred, Dr. John Hodges, and Heidi the Hygienist the same day and everyone is in the same office. They are the best they care about their patients. I HIGHLY recommend their Dental office to everyone, you wont have to look any further once you go there.

My experience with South Sound Dental has been horrible. I need some crowns and ones from years ago are wearing out. I told the manager I am on disability and can only pay $50 per month. I did....until I learned 7 months into it that she was lying to me, not just once, yet, every time I called.The manager literally lied to me over and over about contacting my insurance company. She lied about how much I had paid toward my part. She lied about the specific amount which was suppose to be my part and she kept lying. Then a new manager comes in and tells me an entirely new story which still does not help me. I confront her about the last manager, and she states my report is why the last manager is not there any longer. I DONT CARE. In the meantime, my tooth which Dr. Tyler began to prep for my crown is rotting and I am Diabetic. I know they are a business, yet, they are suppose to be a business which works with integrity. I filed a grievance with the Washington State Dental Service agency. This time I want this dentist to be held accountable for all the people he has hired and the problems they have caused patients. Do NOT trust his office workers. He should fix my tooth since it has been one year after they strung me along lying! These people are dishonest and use snobbery approaches to push their denial and unwillingness to work with the patients or take accountability for their deceit and fraud.

The care I was provided with was amazing. From the time I walked through their doors I was treated with sincerity and compassion. Fred Elliss expertise in his work has given me a whole new lease on life I no longer have to be the picture taker I can now be a part of the picture itself. Fred the denturist is amazing, he takes his work very seriously and with pride, Which is not a common thing among business or medical practices these days, Fred and the staff there really care, If they can get you in, they do. If there is a problem with waiting for the insurance to approve, do not give up because it took over a month for me to be approved, I am very thankful to have come across South Sound Family and Dentures, they were polite and did quality work, The work they did was so good that my own mother started crying because Fred was able to restore my original smile that my old dentures took away. 10 Gold stars for this crew.

I highly recommend SSFDD! They were recommended to me by TWO of my coworkers, so I went in for an exam. Dr Meharry found two places that needed fillings, so I scheduled that for a couple weeks later. Everyone there is incredibly nice and friendly. At my exam, the girl up front gave me a quote for how much the fillings would be after my insurance, and thats precisely what it was, to the penny. It was also about $40 less than another dentist I had received a quote from. If you are concerned about going to the dentist for any reason, I strongly encourage you to go here. Their nitrous is very affordable (and effective!), and Dr Meharry is extremely gentle and tells you every step of the way what he is doing, so there are no surprises. He used a topical numbing agent, so I barely felt anything when he did the novocaine. The fillings were done much faster than I expected. I was worried that I might feel a difference in my bite after the fillings, but after the numbness wore off, I couldnt even tell Id had anything done! No raised places, no sensitivity, nothing. From start to finish, including the doctor going over everything with me, setting up nitrous, numbing, fillings, and a cleaning with a very nice hygienist, I was there for an hour and a half. Afterward, I even received a card in the mail, personally signed by all the staff, thanking me for my visit. My coworkers were right, this dentist is the BEST!!

I had a worst experience with the management. They charged twice the amount of quoted price. This is very bad, insane and untruthful on their part and would never recommend anyone to this clinic.

Called five times and left two messages over two weeks and never heard from them.
