Absolutely love this place! They have been incredibly helpful and caring. I have had multiple procedures done and they have been amazing at making me feel comfortable, showing me the work they are doing as they go, trying to find alternatives for me if I wasnt able to afford something at the time and taking their time in caring for my teeth. I would recommend this place to anyone its the best dental office Ive ever been in. And Youni at the front desk is the sweetest lady ever!

This is my personal experience Im Korean and 76-year-old I can only understand and speak Korean with pain on one of my teeth. Dr young Choi D.D.S./PHD. After x-ray diagnosis said that all my teeth needed crowns immediately emergency and will only accept cash or check no credit card full payment in advance before any dental procedure I pay the full amount as agreed on contract to crown all my teeth after several dental procedures my face swelled up and got infected so I had to set up an emergency appointment to fix but they said they needed more cash or check immediately so I wrote a check of the amount that they asked for but they could not fix my teeth problem causing me more pain and suffering so I went to a different dentist to fix swelling infection with antibiotic but Dr Choi personally called my new dentist to tell me they will complete my dental work that I have already paid for so I went back to Northwest smile for a refund because all the crowns are getting infected and snapping off causing me lots of pain and suffering but they said no refund no guarantee on anything thats paid in advance. Even if the work was never performed or done. Never go to a dentist that does not accept credit card!!!

I highly recommend getting a second opinion if you are using state insurance and told that you need major work done and you will need to pay out of pocket. I went to NorthWest Smile and Dental because of severe tooth pain. I was told that I had a crack in my tooth and would need a crown - that the tooth may even need to be pulled. Dr. Choi went to great lengths to show me the proof of the fracture, but I had a little check, which led me to search for an established local dentist for a second opinion. The second dentist searched and searched for at least thirty minutes, trying desperately to find what Dr. Choi had found. He found nothing. My tooth pain, for whatever reason, resolved in a couple of weeks and I was able to save the $1200 I was being asked to pay for a crown. I thought it was necessary to post this warning. I will say, to their credit, that everyone at this dental office was kind, considerate, and timely.

The staff is really nice and the dentist is absolutely amazing. 25yrs of no dental work and build up is gone and teeth are good to go cant even tell I had as many fillings done. I am happy with my teeth now.

My experience over the course of several visits (one unplanned, emergency-like and other routine type service) has been very positive. From the first phone call on I have consistently seen every staff member and the doctors provide excellent service. Knowledge, skillfulness, precision, care, kindness, integrity, a willingness to answer questions and explain, expertise and satisfaction in doing really quality work are some of the positives consistently demonstrated.

Since Ive been going to this place it was 20 years since Ive been to a dentist due to fears and being hard to numb. I absolutely love the dentist he is kind and pays attention to concerns and has your mouth health top priority. When it comes to being scared or nervous he talks to you and keeps the environment happy.

I am a people helper and I have found over time, it is difficult to obtain dental care for individuals with Medicare/Medicaid. This group is very helpful arranging care and completed extensive work in 3 months during COVID restrictions, that another organization in town couldnt accomplish in ANY sort of timely manner pre-COVID. The staff is very helpful and and they do great work in a timely fashion.

Youni is the most kind sweetiest lady I have ever had the experience of interacting with. She worked so incredibly hard to make the impossible possible. When I first started going they have always been quick and the work has been amazing. When everyone else wasnt accepting new patients she got me in the next day because she realized it was an emergency and thr situation needed to be taken care of. I am so incredibly happy I found them and I would highly recommend this dental office to anyone!!

I had a new set of dentures made, never in 25 years of wearing dentures have I had anyone so precise in making dentures that would fit and look perfect. I ambeyond happy about the care I received and the new smile I left with. If you need dentures, this is the place to go!!!!

My daughter was referred here for a root canal. Due to her having State Insurance we had to wait a couple weeks out. I was willing to wait made the appointment and the day before they called me to let me know that they no longer could take her (mind you she now has a bad toothache and I am back to square one) NOT A HAPPY MOM!!! Very unprofessional office. When I asked the manager how they can fix this she told me theres nothing they can do. They recently stopped doing root canals on teenagers. I definitely would not recommend this office. Save yourself the trouble!!!! In the meanwhile now I have to look for another doctor, schedule another appointment out while my daughter is in pain. Just bad business.

Worst dental experience ever! Waited 30 minutes past my appointment time to get a routine cleaning. Then the dental hygienist couldn’t even figure out how the cleaning tools work. Just go elsewhere and save yourself the trouble. They also stated it was okay that I had night grinding which I know from previous dental appointments that this requires attention and a night guard.

Just got off of the phone with them. The woman I spoke with was very helpful and at no point did I sense any rudeness or attitude. I recently left my job with the state and had to get low income insurance. After doing research and reading reviews there was only one other dentist around my area I didnt have anxiety about. I then looked up NorthWest Smile and read the two nasty reviews and instantly got more anxiety. But then read the others and gave it a shot and called. Again, the woman I spoke with was so nice and helpful. She explained everything I needed to do and even recently moving my addresses are all messed up and for billing reasons they needed the address but I told them I had to call and change all of that and she was very understanding and told me to just bring it in when I came in for my appointment. We will see how my appointment goes as I am hoping its as pleasant as the phone call!

I love being here. Staff is one of a kind. The inside is beautiful and they know what they’re doing. Definitely worth it coming here.

This is the absolute worst dentist I have been to. The receptionist is rude. When calling me to reschedule an appointment that they had to cancel, I did not hear what she said, and asked she repeat herself so she proceeded to yell slowly into the phone. I did not reschedule. This after, I had been left on the table when the dental assist was setting a cap and decided to leave for lunch. I sat for twenty minutes then finally walked out to the lobby to a very surprised owner and receptionist. Thankfully another medical assistant was still there and able to finish the job. The fillings I had done 3 months ago are already coming off and my teeth hurt again. Do not waste your time here, spend your money elsewhere or if youre on insurance go somewhere else!

Ive had a lot of work done on my teeth here and I would recommend them to anyone. I have a pretty bad fear of dental work but as soon as I met with the dentist I knew this was where I would be most comfortable. Everyone is very inviting and friendly. There was a scheduling mixup one time but they apologized and made it right. Not sure why there are bad reviews because Ive always been treated very well.

My number one fear has always been visiting the dentist. For years Ive gotten anxiety so badly around the mere thought of a check-up that I put it off even at the expense of painful cavities & damaged teeth. That said, in the last few weeks Ive Ive gone to the dentist multiple times & every single time everyone there has been so amazing. The staff are all very patient & understanding (even when Ive been a crybaby mess.) For the first time in my life Ive gone to the dentist & felt like Ive been met with compassion and encouragement. Dr Choi has shown me step by step in advance what he plans to work on & even explains the process to me in a way where I feel confident & in control instead of feeling ignorant & terrified like I have with other dentists in the past. The office staff are so nice & helpful. The office takes all kinds of insurance, too. They even go out of their way to call if theres an opening in their schedule (hugely helpful so I can get in sooner which means its even easier to not put off any more visits.) The last place Id ever see myself giving a 5 star rating is the dentist, but this office & its staff really are the best & I would highly reccomended them.

First, I see there are two negative reviews for NorthWest Smile Dental and Denture and after the experience Ive had which took place over several months, there is no way they can be accurate and reliable. Anyway, I had an amazing experience at NorthWest Smile Dental and Denture. After lacking years of dental care, my teeth were in bad shape and needed special attention. I was told by dental professionals that few or none of my teeth were salvageable or the procedure was too difficult to treat. This was a low blow and very disappointing to me. It appeared dentures or no teeth were in my future but I didn’t give up hope and continued my search for a dentist that could assist me. After being turned down by countless dentists I was fortunate to come across a dentist and team who were skilled and confident enough to take on my special case. For what I thought was going to be an unpleasant experience, his team made it quite enjoyable and satisfying. Even though my dental saviors were a team, they were more like a loving family that embraced me and nurtured my teeth back to health. From the receptionist to the R.D.A.’s and D.P.D., my new extended family went above and beyond my expectations. Towards the end of my dental transformation, my new dentist (Dr. Choi) jokingly said: Kevin, I am not a God. when explaining some of the difficult procedures he was about to perform, but I could see in his eyes that he wasnt going to fail. I knew he would do his best and he was able to execute the precise sensitive restoration with passion and perfection. I loved my new teeth so much I wondered if he may, in fact, be a God and his beautiful assistants were Angels sent from heaven. I will always appreciate the help they provided for me. My experience receiving my new partials at Northwest smile was incredible.

Had an appointment scheduled for 12:45 when I showed up they had changed my appointment time to 2:00 twenty minutes prior. As the employees extited the building I asked why they where locking up and stated my appointment time. The three employees were very rude and made me feel like it was my fault. One of the employees even yelled at me. I took a day off work to be treated this way. Very upsetting. I will not be returning.

I’m writing this comment for those of us that have fears of dentists.I hope this helps.I have severe PTSD, and I have had no attack since I started using this Dental Office.

Removed mercury amalgam WITHOUT precautions--NO DENTAL DAM or oxygen to prevent patient inhaling or ingesting mercury shavings. Dental assistant fitted temporary crowns/bridge with terrible fit--gap at the back, and the crowns huge--wide against the cheek & where tongue runs inside. Theres continuing discomfort in entire jaw/bite alternating w/pain. I knew something was terribly wrong w/the temporary & requested asked to change to individual crowns w/NO bridge. Yeoni refused. Dr. Choi didnt want to explain his insistence on a bridge rather than implant but I pressed him. He admitted I do NOT have bone loss or gum disease. So, I said Id rather have waited for an implant. He insisted that was over-treatment. NOT for me! He should have consulted me! After cementing he arose & not looking at me said hold for 5 minutes then sit for 5 minutes. Yet assistant came 2 minutes later not 5 minutes! I couldnt object as my mouth was cemented. Then she kept jabbing my gum scraping cement. The bridge is a nightmare! Ive since learned best practice is to install permanent bridge temporarily for a week to try fit BEFORE cementing. There were countless other issues including I could NOT reach office when in extreme discomfort & panic w/huge temporary. The phone did not allow messages! I finally sent email but no response for a week--and only after I complained! Important treatment messages to dental office were not returned for nearly a week! I sought to have a treatment change to 2 crowns & NO bridge. THEN again NO dental dam used to shave temp bridge. I also asked what product was used for the build-up and whether pins were used. I wondered if these were causing my pain, but again--no response to my important patient treatment inquiries. Furthermore, the dental practice REFUSES to REFLECT actual patient payments with exact payment amount and dates on statements. Instead, this practice arbitrarily applies write-off to patient statements PRIOR to posting patients actual payment. So, if the patient seeks reimbursement from their tribal elder health program--the statement does NOT reflect the ACTUAL amount the patient paid. The office manager was condescending and refused to print an accurate statement showing my actual payment. Ive consulted accounting experts who affirm that any practice write-off should be noted AFTER reflecting the patients full payment. Also, FYI, they have coupons on their website, still today, that they refuse to honor! Ive forwarded to many others whove witnessed the coupons. Yet, when I presented the coupon upon having paid my full bill as stated, I was embarrassed in the waiting room as Yeoni just stared at the coupon and said she couldnt do this. She went into a long song and dance about the website not taking the coupon down so it cost them a lot of money and so she couldnt honor it. I was astounded. Since then, after posting this complaint, that person called me to say they would honor the coupon. She ought to have done so in the first place and not embarrass me in the waiting room in front of everyone. Significantly, for me as a patient--their phones were turned off over the weekend so one could not call the office to leave important message about discomfort and when I resorted to email it was nearly a week before they responded. There is so much more that has transpired since. Meanwhile, my whole mouth hurts now. Not just where the crown/bridge was installed. And yet, the manager was dismissive. Also, he had never been introduced to me. I only spoke with Yeoni & the new employee who printed out faulty statements failing to reflect my ACTUAL full payments to this practice! I requested a refund so that I can see a different dentist, but they kept insisting I return to this dentist for adjustment. Given all theyve done to me, why on earth would I trust him to do anything else to me! I requested refund so I could have different dentist, but they refused!

There is one of the most unkind Korean women in the dental clinic, and she is very unkind. The dentists office is also only on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Its frustrating to have a doctor who works in clinic make a reservation that only comes Thursday thursday. I dont visit every day, but come to Olympia for two days.
