This is a beautiful campground!! The spaces are HUGE and LEVEL! I have been in more commercial campgrounds who would have packed 3 RVs in the space we had. There is a lot of gorgeous open space so even being parked next to someone is no big deal. The bathhouses are pretty primative but they are clean, have hot water, and good water pressure. This is a great campground for people who just want to enjoy nature. It was a welcome reprieve from many of the campgrounds we have stayed in that feel like amusement parks. We would DEFINATELY stay there again!
Really beautiful campground. Giant white oak and Eastern white pine all over. Nice large sites, with perfect picnic tables. If you are into dry camping they have this option as well. One recommendation would be to have a small garbage can located at the dump station. We hope to visit this campground again soon.
Dave & Cindy (2 of the owners) are fantastic. The campgrounds were spotless. We had so much FUN! Cornhole game competitions, volleyball, swimming, tubing and kayaking down the Allegheny river. We had a makeshift water slide which was so fun right into the Allegheny River. Playgrounds for the kids. Basketball courts, baseball games. Outdoor fire pits and you can buy wood or bring your own. Water, electric and sewer hookups. Showers were spotless. A frame cabin and two brand new log cabins for rent fully furnished and immaculately clean. Dog friendly camping.
My new favorite place to camp. Quiet, peaceful, beautiful property. The new owners are fully succeeding in their future plans for Riverhurst. Ive stayed in full hook up sites, the chalet and I have dry camped on spur of the moment trips when everything was booked. (Bc we love it there). All my experiences have been great!
This was a four night stop for us. We are on 6mo. Around the states trip. We have stayed at many campgrounds. This was very nice. Level spots with a variety of options. We opted to dry camp two of the nights. We had a lovely view of a grass field large enough for a polo match. The one shining aspect of this place, very dog friendly! Our pooch occupied herself chasing bugs on the open field. Owners were allowed to police themselves concerning dogs. No leash law! All in all this was a very positive thing. Owners where responsible and there were no incidents. The place was very clean and we had a quiet spot all to ourselves. I hope we can find more parks like this in our travels. I felt comfortable and welcome the whole time. Even got some very nice images of Bald Eagle juvenile. This camp has just had new ownership and they were very friendly and helpful. There was much activity in improving roads while we were there. It did not diminish our enjoyment and I will definitely have this spot as a highlight of good places to stay!
We camped here last year and it was amazing, friendly staff, quite polite owners very nice relaxing environment. This year however was not so enjoyable, had and issue with the fire pit and and explosion that thank god didn’t hurt anyone seriously. And one employee (and older lady with scraggly hair) was constantly harassing us as we where doing family things at our own sight minded our own business, not breaking any rules, she had to have walked up in our sight like 6 times in the 3 days we where there. Won’t be returning again, with pains us cause it was such a great experience last year.
So Peaceful. Great Owners. Friendly clean campground. They had Bingo and a Cornhole Tournament with a great turnout severed Lunch as well. We try to get here atleast once a year.
Love this place! Quiet, friendly staff, beautiful campground...
Nice quiet park and friendly atmosphere. Great place to kayak if you enjoy a nice slow leisurely float.
Wonderful campground along the Alleghany River. Friendly people and camping your way from tents to full hookup. Im dry camping in an open area to let my solar panels catch some rays. Want shade, no problem lots of that available too.
Great quiet place. Helpful people there when you need help.
We love this campground , the reason for the 4 stars is due to no store in campground which makes it hard when you forget something. Our friends whom we camped with forgot milk and have a drive rig with no car in tow so we had to go 2 miles down the road to grab the essentials. There is so much potential for this campground, a store more activities for kids and adults , there used to be a restaurant upfront that they dont utilize which would be an amazing asset , I mean your camping and sometimes want to not cook ,could clearly rent out kayaks and have a bait shop , they could advertise for the local attractions as well such as Rock City Park In Olean or Spragues restaurant on 305 . We know its under new ownership as of last year so we are hoping they take it in the right direction as this would be a permanent staple for a weekend get away for us. They have an elderly woman who seems to be the management there which can post an issue as well , we rang the bell to inquire about buying a sweatshirt and she clearly was Not Happy about having to come out of her camper to assist when she came out she looked at us and said did you ring my bell in a not so nice tone and stated she didnt know what they have and what not. Thing is if your selling these things you need someone in that office at regular intervals to welcome guests and be able to sell those items. Our friends that we camped with were told upon check in that she would be over with their wifi password and she never did give it to them. Of course we did but the management of the office or lack there of is going to be the demise of this park. They had bingo on Saturday night which was alot of fun and the person calling the bingo had super energy and should be the one running the office as he was what and who you would want to see when you check in and out or just want to buy a tshirt. We really hope things turn around and start showing more potential as we love it here but would love to see more .
I went to see my aunt while she was down here. It was a nice place
Very nice quiet park, very well maintained right next to the Allegheny River
Not a lot of campsites here which makes it a quiet campground. There are a lot of owners and they are outgoing and nice. We had site 22 which was right on the water. There is a small boat launch to make it easy to walk down to the water to fish. We saw kayakers and someone on a canoe. Our site had a nice concrete pad, water hookups, electric and sewer. It came with a fire ring and picnic table. They do have some dry dock sites. The pine trees are huge and beautiful.
Nice and quiet here, my new favorite campground
Gross facilities. Undefined camp sites. Paid the same amount as allegany state park with none of the charm. Save your money and just go to allegany state park.
Spent a last minute stay here over a busy Independence Day weekend and couldn’t have had a better experience! Casey, Julie and their family were hands down the most hospitable camp hosts i have ever met. It felt like i was staying with family. The space itself was very open, clean and beautiful and it was very apparent that a lot of care and time went into providing upgrades to the facilities there (cleanest showers I’ve ever seen.)The space is so big it was also very easy to find a secluded spot by the river with my own personal river front.I can’t recommend this campground enough, you won’t be disappointed!
Great place to camp! Had a wonderful stay. Staff was very friendly and helpful especially Cindy. Bathrooms were clean. Nice small playground for kids along with a basketball and volleyball net. Access to river right on property! Many improvements have been made.
We camped on site 22 along the river. Great site with a concrete pad and just enough shade. Our 5th wheel is 37 feet long and fit on site perfectly. We were fortunate enough to park between two of the owners who were very friendly and helpful. While they are working on some renovations on the grounds I would highly recommend this campground.
Just came back from a 3 day trip at riverhurst..it was out first time there and was very satisfied with our stay. The friendly staff greeted us as we pulled in and were very welcoming.showed us to our site which was well kept.Cindy took me for a ride around the park as my husband set up.It is a well maintained ,clean, quiet ,friendly campground .perfect for us! There is a small playground which looks brand new. There are sites right on the river to can park your chair in.bathrooms were freshly painted and clean. All the staff were friendly and helpful.well be back for that spot back in the woods!
Great little campground, site right on the river. This particular day the river was very low and stagnant but it didnt cause the bugs to be bad. Staff super friendly, bathrooms where clean and new! Would def stay again!
This is, by far, the most fantastic campground I have every visited. I honestly wish I could spend multiple summer days here! The beauty of the location in Olean on the Allegheny River is unmatched-- it is truly Gods Country here. The facility is IMMACULATE and there are old growth huge pine trees all through the tidy campsites. The owners are so welcoming and kind and made my family feel at home. I guess I just cant stress enough what a gem this is and my family cant wait to come back. These Olean owners really take pride in this campground and it shows. Its excellence is unmatched!!
Inky 1 5O amp. Not laid out real well. Need signage off of highway. Needs work. Hosts are wonderful.
Such a beautiful nature based place to visit. Camping and hiking easily accessible within the area. Friendly rangers. Beautiful views and surrounding areas. Overall an in amazing area to explore, camp and hike around.
So far very good
I cannot say enough about this family-owned and operated campground. It is everything we like...shaded, waterfront, kid & pet friendly and close to all the necessities. We have a travel trailer and all we need are full hook-ups to enjoy what nature has to offer. There is so much to do outdoors...playground, basketball and volleyball. Dont forget the river and fishing! The seasonal neighbors were friendly. We were there at the right time and got free pizza from a regular who visits the campground annually that owns a local small business pizza shop. We were in town for a baseball tournament and didnt have time to check out all the restaurants but I hear Spragues Maple Farm is popular. We love doing local things when we travel. We were between both ballparks and plan on staying again next year. I highly recommend this to teams...they will have endless fun. There is even a large area to practice a game in the field. The owner Carrie was so friendly, accommodating and down to earth. She even sat with us by the fire and gave my kids a ride on the side-by-side through the park. Thank you for the memories!
We stayed at Riverhurst Park Campground last Thursday to Sunday. Riverhurst is totally what we are looking for in a campground. Right on the river, many trees for shade and plenty of privacy space between trailers. The owner, Carrie, was a real delight and made us feel welcomed. We will definitely be back for more camping at Riverhurst.
Of all the places we have camped at, this is by far the best. We just spent the weekend down there for the first time. Its only 10 min. from our home. Its very quiet and peaceful all the time. We were by the river so we got to watch the kayaks go by, fish jumping out of the water, and a eagle fly through. Its very clean and the grounds was flat so when we went for a walk we didnt have to climb any hills. Best R and R we have had all summer. Hoping to go back in a couple of weeks and some of my kids want to go to with their campers. And it has cable and WiFi hookups to. Plus, we had a patio. Rates were very doable to. Kerry was very pleasant and her daughter told us to go ahead and setup and catch up with Kerry later. I definitely cant wait to go back again. Thank you so much for a perfect weekend getaway.
Best camping site ever. Spacious, huge trees everywhere, flowing river sites, some with wooden decks. My family and I love this magical place.
Its a nice place to come and relaxed. You can a tent or rv. it. They electric boxes there and a water spout to hook up to. . You have the Allegany river to fish or just take a canoeing trip on it. . The owners are very friendly .
Stayed there for 5 months and loved it the owner very friendly and helpful, and quite I will be returning when it reopens next year.
Nice little place great people definitely some place to come through again
Right on the river and easily accessible. Hookups for everything and nice and quiet. Has access to wildlife with resident owls and bald eagles. Dogs are welcome. Wifi and clean facilities, access to kayaking and swimming. And the owner is a rockstar who bends over backwards to make sure everyone who stays here is treated like family!
Amazing place! This is a must see campground.
WiFi Level sites right on the river, and in the middle of massive white pines,Maintained and clean,Owner very nice and attentive,We will visit again ,and recommend to friends
Its just a little to rustic for me and theres not a lot of stuff for kids and teens to do would recommend for a older couple
SD- That is a private property that you see on the opposite side of river as our campground. Please visit my website to see our campsites. It is also about a mile east from my campground. Riverhurst Park cannot be seen from the main road as it is nestled in pine trees.
Great play ground, peaceful and relaxing.
I was surprised to see that a family said there wasnt much to do for families and this place was recommended for old folks! My 3 kids had a blast here for 3 months (Summer vacation and to visit family in area). They never once complained about being bored! It is a very SAFE, quiet park for everyone! There is lots of trails amd fresh berry picking, swimming (river), kayaking, fishing, playground, volleyball nets, horseshoes.....room to run and use their imagination!! Also, the location is perfect away from the hustle and bustle, but close enough if you want to go explore. We went to the WW2 museum in Eldred, PA kids and us love it!! Only about 15 mins from park! We also went to the Kendall oil museum very nice. Also, about 40 mins away was the free Zippo/Case museum and it was a MUST DO!! Niagara falls is about 1 1/2 from the park, Darien Lake, so many amazing things to see close and very affordable! Kerry is a awesome manager as well and so glad we found this gem of a place!!
Love this place
Lovely spot, awesome people. Very much looking forward to going back soon.
So you may say what is there to love about a campground.. Let me start by saying that i am a city girl,.. this was the first time i pitched a tent by myself.. its the first time i camped by myself.. with that said.. lets start with the rates.. the rates were great.. inexpensive.. when i arrived.. i had just caught Carrie leaving.. I had already known my spot and I was able to just go set up.. Carrie caught up with me later in my stay to register me. I pitched my tent on an ideal spot. I asked to be near the bathrooms and on the river.. i had a pretty level site.. there was a concrete pad and a tree.. and nice lawn for me to camp on. I had power and water, and could even have asked for wifi..for an additional dollar a day. The campground it does not have a pool.. but it has a playground for the kids.. there is the river where you see kayakers and tubers.. and people enjoying the river.. I also had a firepit. The campground by night was quiet even thou there were may rvs on the grounds.. there were a few tents like myself. The shower was private..meaning only one person at a time but in the week i was there I never had to wait nor did i know if anyone was waiting on me.. Incredibly there were not alot of bugs in the bathroom either. I had initially thought i would be there for 5 days but had extended my visit to 7 with out any issue.. then.. unfortunately, I have to leave unexpectedly. Carrie was so generous that she refunded the 2 day stay to me. Now that is great business.. I will definitely go back there next year as it was like being at home. Carrie is amazing. The campground is also close to my favorite restaurant in the area..Spragues Maple.. their breakfast is amazing and available all day long.. also not far was a very interesting ww2 museum and zippo lighters.. Want to enjoy your camping vacation.. i wholeheartedly recommend Riverhurst Park.
Right on the river and the owner was very helpful.
Nice area
