Safe, friendly, state of the art, helpful, affordable, and comfortable! Great for beginners, advanced shooters, and groups! From beginner to competitive shooter, best indoor range in Kansas City. Super nice well kept facility, they have a small Kitchenette and always bake cookies! I go every Saturday morning, never rushed, always great service, SUPER FRIENDLY range staff to make you feel comfortable. Great selection of firearms to rent and purchase. Customization and accessories are always there to help, even if it means working with other companies to make you, the customer happy! Nolan who does the purchasing and customizations is great, and I have been told by staff and long time patrons alike the ownership is fantastic. The guys behind the counter are not only very nice, but also very knowledgeable and easy to talk to.They also offer a ton of classes for men and women around all different areas. You will even see on YouTube some of the most popular firearms review videos were shot at this range. Can’t say enough, very happy loyal customer! I highly suggest becoming a member! The gun purchase was 5 stars. The cleanliness of the store and range was 5 stars. The employees are knowledgeable and made me feel safe. I.e checking peoples firearms to ensure they were not loaded ( I can’t tell you how many times I’ve walked onto a range and watch someone rack their slide only to realize it’s been loaded the entire time) My only complaint came when it came time to walk onto range to shoot. I was assigned a stall next to a guy training on a 10” unsuppressed rifle. It’s past borderline disrespectful to shoot a 10” rifle on an indoor range. Even with earplugs the report is concussive. I feel it would be good practice and make sense to split the 2 ranges between rifle and non rifle training. Or even have a set time to train with your brand new fancy unsuppressed SBR.Edit- When I asked the young lady working behind counter if she had another stall available she reassigned me to the other range no questions asked. Again my experience with most of the employees was 5 stars.

We were greeted by very friendly staff, very quick and easy sign in process. There was a little bit of a wait, but that’s expected on a Saturday no biggie. They called our name and we proceeded to the range with our ammo. Prior to coming we had purchased 9mm rounds at bass pro, which is where it got interesting. We were told we couldn’t shoot our ammunition due to it sticking to the magnet in the range and that was our fault and we take full responsibility for it. I ended up purchasing some from them that wasn’t too terribly priced. The aggravating part was the “Range Master” noticed another individual had the exact same ammo as us, picked up the box and examined a round. He set it down, shrugged his shoulders and allowed them to keep shooting the “banned” ammunition. Overall good experience just wish they would be consistent with their policies and procedures.Edit: somewhat acceptable reply, the range master unfortunately is not truthful in this circumstance because I picked up a shell casing from them and it was magnetic! Again, be consistent with your policies or don’t enforce things.

Clean range and facilities, and some of the staff was kind and respectful. Sadly not all. First time there could hear a Safety in the range mocking my accuracy with another person after I missed the target with a shot. That, combined with visible impatience when I had to ask one employee to repeat something -once-, and condescension towards those less experienced made for a pretty sour experience. Was thankful to be able to practice with my firearm and try to be a better owner, but when I am paying someone for their services it would be nice not to be treated like an idiot when trying my best. Not worth it when other ranges are available. I just wanted to focus on being a more responsible firearm owner. Instead I simply felt unwelcome.

Staff and facility are nice, Ive been going here intermittently for a few years. Make sure your ammo doesnt have steel in it before you go just in case they dont check it at the counter. I went here to gas and sight my AR pistol I recently built, as well as get some range time with my other firearms. It can be kind of a bear to find a range that allows rifle caliber rounds as well as has a decent yardage, but centerfire does just that. The lanes go out to almost 25 yards which is about all you can ask of an indoor, and right when I arrived (about forty minutes after opening) the lanes in my side of the range were at least half .223/5.56 shooters, so I didnt worry about deafening anyone. The lanes are split into two rooms, eight on one side and eight on the other. I would say the only possible negative would be the small amount of lanes - if you dont show up early you may be waiting a while. But they have a comfortable lounge type environment while you wait, so Id assume its not a big issue. I will definitely be back soon!

First time visiting. I hadnt been to a range in a few years. Overall, very nice place. Staff were friendly enough. Was easy to navigate for a first timer. Cost was a little higher per person, but they have complimentary cookies/coffee/fruit/snacks etc...nice touch. Good stock of rentals, nice store stock. The range was monitored and clean. Lane equipment worked great and was easy to figure out without asking (though they are handy for questions). Only reason I didnt want to give a 5 star rating is because they combine rifles and handguns in each of the ranges (they have two rooms). Maybe its not feasible for them to separate the two, I dont know. But using the range lane with pistols on one side, and what sounds/feels/flashes like a cannon (users especially peppy AR platform) two lanes over on the other side was distracting and uncomfortable. The other range users were also sharing looks each time the cannon was fired (frequently). Other than that type of thing, nice spot. Id probably even go back. Thanks for the experience.

A year ago I was new to shooting and initially took the Basic Pistol Class at Centerfire along with my wife. I liked the classes and the range so much that I decided to become a member. The facility is always clean and well cared for. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable and it is obvious that they have been well trained in safety and customer service. This is by far the best range in the KC area. Decently priced with a super friendly and helpful staff. The employees dont have an attitude and always ensure youre having a good time while being safe, but arent overly intrusive. The only time they step in is if youre being unsafe or need assistance with a firearm. Always my first pick for taking new shooters as they have a welcoming environment and make it a pleasant experience. Never had more than a 15 minute wait even when they are really busy. The refreshments are a nice touch. Ive never had a bad experience here, although even a bad day at the range is better than no day at the range. They have a great selection of rentals and sale guns, including suppressed and full auto. Keep it up guys, youre doing it right.

By far my favorite range. The staff is really friendly and happy to talk about firearms with you. They have the best collection of rental firearms that I have seen, along with a great rental policy. For the small hourly fee, you can exchange out for a different gun of the same caliber for no charge. I have shot many of their rental guns, and it helped me immensely with choosing the right gun for purchasing. The range itself is modern, clean, well-lit, and an overall comfortable place to shoot. Like I said, the staff is very nice and always willing to give you some advice on gun choice if youre renting. And half the time when I go there, I end up meeting some random customer and we have a chat about our guns, what we carry, etc...The only downside for me is that its an hour drive from my home, but its well worth the drive. The only range available in my town has no rentals, and is filled with cocky, rude, disrespectful kids running the counter, and I dont need to give a place like that my business. Centerfire is the the total opposite. If youre looking for a place to shoot with nice people, where you can shoot in a clean, upscale, modern range, please give this range a try, and you wont be disappointed!

Went to center fire to shoot a new pistol. I have never been to this range, so I decided to give it a try. The weather was bad and they were just opening. When I arrived, there were only two other shooters there. Both were shooting long guns. The clerk put me on lane #3, right next to one of the cannons. Trying to concentrate and shoot a 9mm with a high power hunting rifle muzzle less than 18” away from your face, is to say the least, uncomfortable. The employee offered to move me down two lanes, but no way. That was just putting me closer to the other Rambo and his rifle. I wear ear plugs along with some pretty decent noise canceling ear muffs, but that wasn’t near enough to tolerate the noise from these two rifles. When you pay almost $20 to shoot at an indoor range, it should be a pleasant experience. I think this place cares more about the all mighty dollar than the comfort of their customers. You can shoot anything as long as you pay your $16.99 plus tax.Owner,Why don’t you instruct your employees to have more consideration when placing a pistol shooter right next to a long rifle shooter. Maybe read the other reviews posted about this same issue. And even better, do something about it.

I’ve read some reviews and agree, outstanding facility, clean and the set up is very spectacular and the staff I came into contact with was very professional. I was a little nervous because it was my first time shooting in a very long time. I was with family, excited to start shooting again, then someone started shooting an automatic weapon, sounded like a machine gun war zone, and everyone in the room stepped out of their area until he was done, and one of the customers that was with us left and got refunded. It was not a great experience during that moment, i agree with another review that automatic weapons should be in a assigned area other than those who are shooting pistols for an indoor range. I understand first come first served, it’s only right, but possibly separate the two. It kept people from focusing on what they were doing. When the gentleman got done, it brought relief then everyone went back to shooting again. I would like to come back because it is a great facility.

If you go to range multiple times a month I highly recommend this place. With their monthly or yearly membership you can go there as many times as you want without paying any range fees. Memberships are not required if you want to try out. Range is always clean and I like their motorized target retrieval system. They have staffs/range officers all the time, and they take safety seriously. You can bring your own ammo, targets and keep your own brass. Once I saw a customer using disposable plates as target 😂 If you rent a handgun in certain caliber you can try out other handguns within the same caliber without paying anything extra. But, you have to buy ammo from them. Only downside I can think of using semi-auto rifles. I myself have shot semi-auto rifles in past. Sometimes semi auto rifles create distractions for handgun shooters. I understand some customers use both handguns and rifles, but I wish there was a way to separate rifle shooters from handgun shooters.

I attended the ladies only shooting class. It was informative and a good beginner course. I dont think it needed to be split into two classes, and I didnt appreciate the instructors habit of talking down to us (No kidding! You can point a plastic gun at a person and not shoot them with it? Who knew?!). More hands on experience, even with the plastic guns would have been helpful to practice grip and to just get comfortable holding them before stepping onto the range. Also, I would have liked more range time. We were rushed at the end of class and didnt get to finish using the ammunition we had bought from them. I would go again simply because theyre the only place nearby that offers beginners classes.

My first impression of Centerfire was very impressive, they have a nice setup and the staff was kind and helpful. We paid, got our lane, and had a good time staying safe while following the rules posted. As we were leaving the lanes to the staging area there was a huge group of young kids with there dad coming in and it started to get over crowded. The door to leave was open so my fiance went out first then my brother-in-law and I was last (We left the staging room so the rest of their group of kids could enter the staging room with them.). We walked over to where they had the couch placed when I hear a loud and very disrespectful HEY!!!YOU NEED TO LEAVE THIS DOOR SHUT WHILE PEOPLE ARE GOING INTO THE LANES AREA. This was the employee who was sweeping shells into the lane area who looked like a high school boyscout wearing the blue and white plaid shirt. Went there on a date with my wife and some friends. Ive been to other gun ranges but this was my first time here. It soon became very awkward with the range officer towering over us. He was very upset after my friend accidentally broke a rule by handing me an unloaded weapon from his station to mine. After belittling us he told us that if it doesnt stop then we would have to leave. He proceeded to tell the employees in the lobby that he was an accident waiting to happen as his wife was out there sitting.I want to shoot in a safe place and appreciate safety but this guy was completely out of line. There could of been a tactful way of addressing the situation without humiliating us. If I wanted to be treated like this I would enlist in the army and I probably wouldnt bring my wife. This is a civilian shooting range and should be treated as such. Why would I come back to be treated like this. Terrible experience.

Extremely clean, plenty of lanes, good selection of rental weapons. As soon as you walk in, you can tell you are about to have a wonderful shooting experience. The list of available weapons to rent was not perfectly consistent with what was online, but there is still a great selection. There is one main reason I did not rate 5 stars. During the process of switching guns to use in the range, a gentleman behind the counter (who was not helping me, nor had helped me before) interrupted and asked me and my shooting partner why he smelled pot while watching us shoot (though neither of us had even seen the man and were certain he never was in the range with us). His confrontation was very loud and in front of all the other customers. He then asked if we were sure it wasnt us... really? The situation was very weird and made us both extremely uncomfortable. Being publicly humiliated like that is unacceptable. I understand weapons and drugs are not a mixture you want in your store, but that was an incredibly unprofessional way to handle a suspicion such as that.I really enjoyed the store, range, and all the other employees, but we ended up leaving significantly earlier than planned because of that situation.

Took my brother, who is new to shooting, there on June 13. It was my first time there as well, and we were both very impressed. The shop and range are bright and clean, and though we arrived right as they opened on a Saturday (a busy time, it seems), we were helped right away by the friendly and professional staff. We rented one shooting lane, and about 2/3 the way through our time, the target mover quit working. We notified the Range Safety Officer, and he ended up moving us to a new lane and gave us a replacement target right away. I bought night sights for my G17 and they installed them within 10 minutes. Everything about my experience there makes me want to go back. You wont be disappointed. You can bring your own ammo and targets, and I do recommend bringing your own ammo since theirs is marked up a bit.I highly recommend strong hearing protection. I used foam ear plugs, which were not enough. Some low-end over the ear muffs on top of the ear plugs would have been better. I was not prepared for the extra noise from being confined indoors. Thats not anything against CSS; its just the nature of an indoor range.

Great range for those rainy days I get off work. Nice and clean inside. Friendly staff. Only down side is no steel ammo (tula, monarch or any bi metal or steel core rounds) I believe aluminum case and some other steel case ammo is allowed. If you have questions ask the staff. They are super helpful. They also sell ammunition if you show up with the wrong stuff. but he warned. Their range ammo is filthy. After 50rs my barrel looked like I shot black powder through it. Not to mention it covered my arm in black ash. Highly recommend this place. Just bring the right ammo.

Corinne was an amazing teacher. My husband and I decided to go down for some training because I have never shot a gun before. I was extremely nervous because I was one of those people who swore they would never have a gun in the house. However, once we got there she made me feel very comfortable and confident in what I was learning. She didnt talk down to me or talk over my head she seemed to understand my lack of knowledge and at the same time was able to speak to my husband who had been in the army (he just hadnt had handgun training) in a way that didnt make him feel like he was at my level. I would recommend Corinne to anyone and yes it was well worth the 3.5 hr drive.

Awesome place to go shooting with my family and friends! You can bring your own gun (encased of course), ammo, protection, and targets. I really appreciated when an employee came to help me learn how to shoot a new gun since I badly missed the target. Nice place, people, and time spent.

Nice range! Friendly staff. Good sized gun rental library, and rental is per caliber rather than per gun. That makes trying guns to decide what you want to buy much easier.

Always busy and rightfully so. This is a great place to try out different guns and familiarize yourself with the options of personal defense you have available. Prices are great for what you get and I highly recommend getting a membership if you shoot often or are looking to get into it.

First time my wife went to a range by herself with her son. She was loading her revolver at the back table with the cylinder open and a staff member all but yanked it from her hand and rudley stated you need to load on the shooting line. I feel it would have been better to maybe educate my wife. I do not appreciate my wife being disrespected like that or any other woman. Help educate people not belittle them.

First rate place, should be managed better! Large bore rifles should not be in lanes adjacent to pistol shooters. I used top rated double hearing protection, and was driven out by the noise of the rifle next door. Other lanes in a separate area were open, but the options were not suggested. Could have been managed better. I intended to shoot longer and browse through the retail area, with purchases in mind. Not a chance now. Their loss not mine.

Clean place, good ventilation. Employees are all friendly and helpful. The best indoor range in KC. Gun rentals are reasonable and you can try multiple guns within the same caliber so if youre trying to narrow down a gun youre looking at, this is a great option how to do it and compare models.

My daughter had done this in Chicago. She said this was so ;much better than where she went, and she had loved it in Chicago. Jake was great. Family of four, it was a blast and very informative, but not overwhelming. Cant wait to go back

Visited Kansas and was treated by a visit to this place. The staff ran an instructional workshop before our group got into the range. He explained very well the best way to fire a gun and proper gun safety. While on the range he also gave us pointers after each shot on how to correct our aim.

Bought my first firearm from this place, 4 to 5 years ago great experience. I recently went back and bought another from here. The guys who worked the counter were rude and condescending. I was helping a friend look for a pistol, we went here. I was thinking maybe just was a bad day when I went last time. We ended up going somewhere else to buy. I wont go back here.

Ive bought a couple of guns from Centerfire. When you are there in person they are great. On the phone however, the service is poor! I called to inquire on a Mossberg MVP, was told no we do not have any. Okay, great do you know when you will get some in and if you do, do you know an approximate price? We dont have a way to know the price unless they are in is what I was told and when asked if I could order one. Well, I dont know was the answer I received. There was no, well let me check or I can find an answer for you. Just I dont know. So Centerfire on your customer service over the phone....well I just dont know either.
