In all of my years of practicing critical care medicine, I have rarely encountered such an arrogant and unprofessional doctor as Purushottam Mitra. Today, my family and I had a scare with my grandmother who is in Ocala Regional Medical Center. Her oxygen was left off her while the nurses gave her too much pain medication and she was found unresponsive. He was consulted and when he got to the bedside, he barely talked to us and dismissed all of our questions and concerns. He was arrogant, rude, and uncompassionate. He should be ashamed of himself for how he behaved. We have since contacted administration and had him fired from our grandmothers case. This man should remember the oath he took and practice with some compassion and integrity.
