Hitching Post is a great place to set up base camp for Ocala area adventures! Barbara is a super sweet lady. The camp has room for 5 parties with 30 Amp service and good clean water hookups. Nice and shady. 10 min bike ride to Vortex/Santos and the Greenway paved path. 25 min drive to Silver Springs. Well definitely be back!

Super nice, easy going couple. They shared wood they had chopped for fires, offered to take us to the local ice cream shop and shared their knowledge of horses and the bike trails.We needed WI-FI for work, but were unable to get it even with our wifi extender and antennae. We left and stayed elsewhere during the week for WI-FI access, but returned for the weekend for a beautiful, peaceful stay.Proximity to both bike trails and horse trails, along with horse corrals at each site will make this place difficult to book once word gets out.Hope to return soon!

My family and I visited for a one night getaway from our home in Tarpon Springs. The property was beautiful and the hosts were very hospitable! My wife said she feels rejuvenated after waking up in the morning and seeing horses! What a great experience! Sincerely, the Boyles.

Lovely camping in a beautiful field, 30 amp power and water for 8 or 10, plenty of space for tent camping or dry camping.

Great private camping. Owners are the best. Very caring and accommodating . We stay there every winter..if you like biking or horseback riding this is near all the trails you need.

This is one of the best HORSE campgrounds Ive been to. ITS VERY QUIET, THE TRAILS ARE RIGHT OUTSIDE OF THE GATE AND Bill&Barbara are two of the nicest people you would ever want to meet.THANKS FOR A GREAT STAY. WE WILL BE BACK.
