I have worked with the Fitness Alchemists for almost 3 years and they are fantastic. They really do a great job of learning what your needs are and finding the best way for you to work toward achieving your goals in a safe way. Even though they are group classes you get focused attention and direction. They are extremely knowledgeable and their classes are a great workout, varied, work different parts of the body in a smart way, and theyre fun. I feel so much stronger and better equipped to do exercises in a way that suits my body and its specific abilities. I highly recommend them.

I highly recommend Hannah as a personal trainer and coach. As a person with rheumatoid arthritis, it can be daunting to face a general, all-purpose workout. However, Hannah has the knowledge, open mindedness and empathy to design programs for me that increase my strength and mobility without causing a flare-up in my condition. After two years of training I can say that I am stronger, more flexible, participating in activities that I thought were no longer part of my life - and I am pain-free on a daily basis!

I am your classic try a workout trend, become a complete devotee, and then quit after 6 months because it doesnt fit in my life fitness person. I am proud to say Ive been going to the Fitness Alchemists classes for 2 and a half years consistently, usually 2 classes a week, starting in the summer of 2017. At first, I just got a big thrill out of lifting heavy weights and throwing medicine balls and pushing sleds. Not to mention, I could see my muscle tone start to improve almost immediately. And then I started to wake up to all the information they were giving me about functional mobility, applied it to my body, and I became devoted. I have suffered from back and shoulder pain for over twenty years. My right knee has been weak since I hurt it playing soccer in high-school. I had two c-sections in 6 years and had pretty much completely lost sensation in my lower ab muscles. The Fitness Alchemists helped me to isolate the pain (or lack of sensation) in those areas, work consistently towards accessing any mobility I had, and regain strength and function of those parts of my body.I followed them when they moved spaces and I look forward to my time in their space so much. It is calm, lovely, and so well conceptualized.Hannah and Will have different styles in their coaching but their classes are consistent in terms of exercises and how I feel coming out of the class. I love getting a mix of both their personalities depending on when I got.I will confess to being related to one of the coaches but Id love The Foundry no matter what context I was connected to it.

I travel to the Bay a couple of times a year, mainly for work. I always try to plan classes with Hannah and Will. They are formidable at what they do! They really understand the human body and joint and muscle l movement. And that’s something you don’t always come across.I still do their exercises back home in The Netherlands. I also do some of their exercises with my patients because they work so well in maintaining good posture, creating body awareness and control.If you ever have the opportunity; go have fun and sign up for their classes.Highly recommend this place. (also because they’re amazing human beings who are passionate about what they do!)

I knew Hannah & Will from one of their previous gigs, and when I was looking to get back into workouts after taking (far too much) time off due to chronic pain, I was super happy to find out theyd set up their own business not far from my home and work (theyve since moved to a great new space thats still easy and convenient to get to). These two are terrific at meeting clients where they are, assessing individual needs, and pushing you just as far as you need to be pushed. Slowly but surely Im regaining range and strength and stamina, thanks to their great coaching and encouragement.The brand new dedicated space is gorgeous and perfectly designed for the type of work that Hannah and Will do with their clients. Having the space all to themselves has allowed for terrific expansion of the class offerings, which works great with my sometimes-predictable, sometimes-chaotic work schedule. I have small mobility victories almost every day thanks to dedicated work with The Fitness Alchemists. Im so much more tuned into my body and able to manage chronic pain and even relieve some of it.

I cant recommend the Fitness Alchemists enough. Ive been training with them for a few years now and Ive been continually impressed with what Ive gotten in their programs. Despite my hypermobility, ive managed to make great strides in strength without the kinds of injuries Id get in the past. Their commitment to joint health has been crucial to helping me achieve my fitness goals. Ive referred a bunch of different folks their way from all walks of fitness life, and everyone whos worked with them has come out with stellar reviews. Im so grateful for Will and Hannah.

Hannah and Will have changed my life. I’ve never been a gym person, or even a person that exercises regularly.Will and Hannah offer guidance, direction, expertise, and support. They are such consummate professionals, dedicated to bettering themselves as trainers and coaches, that goes way beyond personal training.Now I go to the gym 3-4 days a week, and I feel stronger than I have ever before in my life. I get one-on-one coaching in a small group setting and I’m never scared that I’m going to injure myself, let alone flare up old injuries. I’ve learned how to foster more mobility and strength and I’ve gained a new routine and outlook... for life!

For over 30 years, since my teens, I have suffered with knee pain which has kept me from being able to hike and dance and gain strength. I injure myself whenever I exercise with any intensity. Recently it got so bad I was having pain sitting back down into a chair.I heard about Kinstretch and found TFA and set up one of their free calls. I was hesitant because I have tried SO MANY therapies and techniques over the decades and NOTHING has worked. However when I spoke with Hannah she laid out how Kinstretch trains your body to know how to bear increasing load. I knew this was the missing piece for me because each time I have gone to train, I dont know how to hold my body to do the activity safely.So I decided to take the plunge and do the series of 3 private sessions with Hannah focussing on my knee. These were fantastic. Within a week of daily practice for a few minutes, my knee released. The pain reduced. The best part is that I can do this myself. I dont need to pay a therapist to do it for me.After the 3 private sessions I started the Kinstretch classes and have been going for 2 weeks. I met Will who is the other trainer. Both he and Hannah are so knowledgable and fun to work with.The classes are filling in the gaps for me about the other body parts and bringing strength and tone to my muscles that I have not had before. Kinstretch has been a missing link for me in terms of having control to target pain areas in my body, release them and then build strength.

I was dealing with chronic back and hip pain for 10 years and had tried EVERYTHING. Multiple physical therapists, acupuncture, yoga, every type of exercise routine and alternative therapy I could find, with no relief. I started working with TFA out of desperation thinking it to be another gimmicky or ineffective modality. Almost immediately my pain lessened and functioning improved and, a year later, I am relatively pain free and able to resume many activities I had previously been forced to abandon.The modality is key and Kinstretch, in my experience, teaches your body to reclaim range of motion and functionality that was previously lost for whatever reason. I would HIGHLY recommend it for preserving functionality but also for those that have tried other modalities with little or insufficient result. The instruction here is FANTASTIC and both Hannah and Will really understand anatomy and kinesiology principles in a way that is rare to find. They will work with your particular issues to move you towards your goals.I do about 15 mins of maintenance each morning to prevent regression on top of the on-site workouts, but Im again able to do things out in the world that I thought were out of reach forever. Highest recommendation possible from someone who has tried everything.

Im been working out with TFA for about 2 years now. At my old gym, I went to about 8 classes a week, doing pilates, yoga, dance classes, and kick boxing. I had fun but never got any stronger. In my intro interview with TFA, I said my goal (everyones goal is different, so they ask this) was to die on the dance floor in my hundreds. Im now much stronger and have more stamina, and Im still having fun! Oh, and BTW, Im 69 years old.

I have been coming to TFA for about 2 years and have gotten much stronger ( hello, pull-ups) and learned how to move better in my body, all while having a lot of fun! The small class size facilitates a nice balance of having time to coach us individually and providing the fun and energy of working out with a group. I much prefer this approach to other types of training that I have tried.Will and Hannah are focused on good technique (Kinstretch, FRC and other fun stuff) They are super knowledgeable and really think about how to develop and coach you to improve. I am resolving issues I have from years (...well, decades) of running being my primary form of fitness and building bad form in the functional training that I was doing.They have loads of class time options in the morning and evening which works great for my sometimes flexible work schedule. Never an excuse to not come in!

Full disclosure: I am a personal friend of one of the trainers. I do not and have never received a discount on training services from them, nor have I received any freebies.Honestly, its a bit of a plunge to get a small group training package like the Fitness Alchemists. If youre anything like me, you wonder what the benefit is over doing classes at the gym, or yoga, or just looking on the internet for exercises.But the experience of being a regular participant in Hannah and Wills classes is incredible. The pair of coaches really help you not only do some set of exercises, but to develop a deep awareness of your body that you will carry with you throughout your everyday life. You dont just get told to do some jumping jacks or kettlebell swings. They really help you do the exercises right--and to turn on the parts of your brain and self-awareness that let you do the exercises with care and confidence. After about two months of working with them three times a week, when Im working out I can consciously move parts of my body I didnt know existed. Im not sitting there lifting gigantic weights: but I am doing exercises with a kind of self-awareness I never knew I had.I am incredibly grateful for their expertise. I got hit by a car a year ago, and was badly injured. Ive been struggling to feel like myself again. My injured side would hurt a ton. I felt weak and tired. I tried doing classes, but I didnt feel safe. I tried working out alone, but I knew I was doing the exercises sloppily. The Fitness Alchemists really helped me heal and grow stronger. I can now, for the first time in a year, sleep on my once-injured left side without pain.Ive worked out a bit in the past, but this is the first time that Ive felt both really strong and in control of my body. And I have Hannah and Will to thank.
