This place is phenomenal! Ive been using their product for over a month now and have to say that it was an even better outcome I expected having spoken with about 10 ppl I knew who already had the procedure. I was surprised at how many ppl close to me had already had the procedure. From start to finish everything was easy and enjoyable. The actual procedure took about 5 minutes from when I laid on the bed to when I stood up. I highly recommend this place and procedure to any candidate. My vision is now better than ever before, I feel like the bionic man. The colors and detail is more vibrant than anything ever before has been!

I scheduled an appointment to see if I was a candidate on Wednesday this week. Its now Saturday and I can see!!!!Prompt, reliable care. Wonderful staff. Comfortable accomodations. You might have to wait a bit on surgery day but Ive waited my whole life to see so an extra hour or two felt like nothing!Both the doctor and the surgeon I saw were nice, explained the entire process to me, and answered all my questions.Cant explain how life changing this surgery is and it was all made possible by the caring folks at LASIK Vision Institute.

I’ve thought about LASIK for years, and finally made the decision to at least get a consult. I had a -4 in each eye! Scheduling was quick and easy. I was so impressed by the staff at the consult, that I knew I had to get the procedure done with them. I literally scheduled my surgery for 3 days later! I was pretty nervous, so their amazing personalities and attitudes made me feel so comfortable. The procedure was so fast, and I was in shock that I could literally see perfectly without contacts the same day. It’s been a little over a month, and the customer service has been consistently amazing with this office.I did some consults at other non affiliated offices for LASIK. Absolutely none of them are this great, and the price is the best here!I highly suggest LASIK, but if you’re going to get it, go to the LASIK vision institute in Oakland!

Give yourself the gift of 20/20 vision is 2020!!I had an amazing experience at the Lasik Vision center in Oakland. From the moment you walk in to the office the front desk staff is very friendly and helpful. The Doctors are very knowledgeable and will talk you through the process and choices. The surgery itself lasts only seconds, afterward it is recommended that you take a nap for a few hours, and when you wake up you will feel fine, by the next morning your new 20/20 vision will be present!! Just like many others that are thinking about getting eye correction I was skeptical, had a lot of questions, and was a little scared about getting a laser in my eye. Everyone provided me with information I needed, and was very helpful throughout the whole process. Even when I ran out of medication and I called the doctor on their off hours, they were able to get ahold of someone to get me the medication as soon as possible. For PRK, after the first week recovery was a breeze. 3 months later on my final check up, I am seeing 20/15.Definitely one of the best investments I have ever made. Thanks to the awesome staff for helping me out with this and getting me Clear Vision!

My experience has been very positive! I ended up with 20/15 vision for each eye and 20/10 vision when using both eyes (although results may vary). The surgeon was very kind and calm and walked me through the steps. All of the staff were very courteous and respectful. I would recommend this place to family and friends.

I had a wonderful experience with Dr. Banales. I had gone in for my annual checkup for my PRK and had some issues that have given me great concern. She was very present. Listened to my concerns and addressed everyone of them. She is one of those doctors that you can tell actually cares about what she does.

I went to see the Lasik vision in Oakland. I also had another appointment set up for a different place to check out as well. I canceled that other appointment after meeting with the team at Lasik vision. Everyone was so friendly and welcoming and answered my thousands of questions. After surgery a little angel Marianne came up to me and comforted me and told me when you wake up from that nap your going to take, you are going to feel so much better. And I did! I highly recommend this place. In fact, I have highly recommended this place to numerous friends. I had my eyes done just over a year ago, and it was life changing. Every single person I dealt with there was outstanding.It only took a week between my thinking about LASIK, to calling them, visiting for the consultation, discussing finances and coming in for the procedure. It wasnt until I sat outside the procedure room waiting for the door to open that I felt some nerves. And then the door opened and the doc came out, and between that door opening and shaking his hand, I would have trusted him with my life. It was a bit weird actually, to the point that I half seriously checked for nozzles pumping oxytocin into the room. : )I felt in good hands and the procedure only took minutes. I took their advice to keep my eyes closed over the next 24 hours very seriously, and and no point did I experience even the slightest discomfort. I really recommend keeping those eyes shut completely in the beginning. Over the next months, my eyes continued to heal perfectly.

Had a great experience at the Oakland Office. I had an eye Incident at work resulting in so much pain! I gave the office a call and they where closed, shortly after I receive a call insisting to come in and have my eye checked by an “on call” optometrist! I had lasik eye surgery here about 2 years ago, I went from super blind and high astigmatism to perfect 20/20 Vision! This was truly a great life changing procedure :)! Wonderful experience here at the lasik vision institute in Oakland. The staff was very helpful, but more importantly honest. Had the surgery, did not have any complications and was able to see right after surgery. My healing time was only 5-6 hours. I was pretty scared going into the surgery, but am very happy I took the chance and had my vision corrected.I opted for the Groupon deal with no add-ons. It is different for everyone so do your research. Total paid was around 1,100.

The staff did a wonderful job helping me feel comfortable throughout the process. The next day after surgery, I felt great, and my vision was better then I could remember.

I went in for a free consultation back at the end of December and same day booked my surgery. Everyone there was pretty honest about prices and even honored the Groupon I was supposed to purchase. I had my surgery yesterday and it turned out I didn’t need the Contoura which also saved me $$$. I had PRK instead of regular LASIK due to a high glasses prescription. Although some may say PRK is worse when it comes to healing, I’m on my 2nd day with minimal pain and seeing 20/25! Super glad I chose these guys, they’re a great team and thanks to the doctor which made everything less scary! Being able to see clearly without glasses instead seeing blobs of color is an amazing feeling.

The LASIK Vision Institute in Oakland was awesome to work with. From my first interaction with them to book my consultation until my last post-op follow up visit, they have provided great service, great care, and most importantly they have given me perfect vision for the first time that I can remember. I’ve been wearing glasses with a 6.25 prescription for over 30 years, since I was 7 or 8 years old , so this procedure has been life changing for me. Every time I went in, I felt like I was a VIP in the office. Reception folks were always quick to welcome me and check me in and answered my calls promptly (whether picking up or returning a message), technicians were very thorough and knowledgeable about the procedures and processes they were explaining, Dr. Bernales (spl?) the optometrist was awesome to work with and I really enjoyed just chatting with her and she was extremely accommodating of my unpredictable work schedule, and Dr. Kownacki was extremely thorough and careful about the circumstances under which he’d laser my eyes. We had to reschedule the procedure once due to a recent scar near my cornea, and I really appreciated his careful thoroughness vs doing the procedure under less-than-ideal healing circumstances. I mean, this is my vision, I’d prefer to take every precaution, and I’m glad I did since everything went great and I see perfectly. I also needed to pay for my procedure using HSA funds, and they honored a Groupon deal even though I couldn’t purchase the voucher from Groupon or else my HSA funds would not have covered it. Overall, I am beyond pleased with the service, the care, and the procedure. I wish I could have done it sooner, but nonetheless, I’m very grateful I chose LASIK Vision Institute in Oakland. I wanted to share my experience with my PRK surgery because when I was researching I didnt read too many positive experiences. I read many stories of how painful the whole process was. So I was pretty nervous going in to it but really wanted the end result of being able to see without contacts or glasses and PRK surgery is what I got approved for. I really wanted to write this review to let people know that I actually had an amazing experience and it was way better than I couldve hoped for. The surgery itself was not painful at all and even the aftermath was very little to no pain, just a slight irritation. I did experience some Blurriness throughout the week but achieved 20/20 vision a couple weeks later. I feel like the staff was all very professional and really had my best in mind. Thank you so much for your service. You guys were amazing from my first appointment to my very last three month check up and I have nothing but positive to say about the whole process. On another note, check Groupon they are usually offering some kind a deal. Could not be happier and Im so happy I went through with it! I can now scuba dive with no problem:)

TEN HOUR WAIT FOR SURGERY.I was scheduled for surgery at 11:00am, and I did not leave the center until 8:30pm. I waited 10 full hours, and when I arrived they told me the total time would be 2-4 hours. In addition to this wait, I was given inadequate discharge instructions (not told how to use the eye drops so I used them improperly, not told to get artificial tears).They had seriously overbooked the clinic that day, and it seemed stressful for the staff as well, but the lack of adequate communication and the lack of apology/reimbursement after made it clear that this is the usual standard of care for them.The surgery went well, but the customer care was very poor and disorganized.

Wonderful experience! Im one month post-op. Ill break it down,- Cost. (groupon) + bladeless lasik = $2600. $300 for Rx drops with my garbage insurance. Total cost for me $2,900.-Vision. Corrected from -3.5 in both eyes to perfect. 20/15 in fact, minor dry eyes and halos at night. Pretty normal side effects while it heals.-Office. Clean, professional, efficient. I never had to wait long in the mornings.The staff is really friendly and accomodating. In particular Dr. Banales was AWESOME. Very friendly, humorous, intelligent and really my favorite doctor ive had. Ever.My surgery was performed by Dr. Youssefzadeh and hes a master at his craft. Excellent bedside manner as well. My fiance got to watch the surgery happen in the room lol. The procedure was painless but pretty uncomfortable. A lot of weird pressure and sensations on your numbed eyeball. My recovery time was quite quick. Back at it a day later.If you opt for lasik just make sure to your schedule can accommodate the many follow up appointments ( 1 day, 3 day, 1 week, month, 3 month). I highly recommend The lasik vision institute to skeptics and those who cannot afford those 5-6k higher end costs. They are a totally legitimate operation.

Had my surgery yesterday and couldn’t be happier. If you’re considering LASIK make sure you read all the documents they provide to you and you’ll be prepared. It was extremely painful for about 2 hours after surgery but then it subsides. Totally worth it though. Went from 20/400 vision yesterday to 20/15 today.

First of all let me start by saying I interviewed three different Laser Vision Doctors before coming to The LASIK Vision Institute. I had been quoted between $5200-$6000 by other Doctors. A co-worker of mine had gone to LVI in Stockton and told me she had a great experience and used a Groupon for $1800. I decided to get a consultation at the LVI in Oakland. I read reviews on here before going and prepared myself for a long wait. I brought snacks, a seltzer and my headphones. The office was very busy but I was seen within 30 minutes. I had a great consult with a young gentleman who was training some new staff. I was told they had recently hired a whole new crew. The guy doing my exam was very professional, friendly and was clearly someone who enjoyed his job. After my initial exam the Optometrist approved me for PRK. He explained that based on my violent line of work and my very strong prescription -8.50 and -7.75 I would be better off with PRK. I met with the office manager who gave me the rundown on cost. She was polite, not pushy and she explained the add-ons that I could get. I recommend the lifetime warranty. I didnt buy it because PRK is so invasive that I dont plan on ever getting it again. If you get Lasik and are relatively young I would recommend the extra $1,000 for a lifetime guarantee. I went home the day after my initial consult and bought the groupon. I scheduled my surgery for 3/23/19.The day of surgery I had a pre-operative check up where I met Dr. Banales. She was very personable, professional and put me at ease. She explained what the surgery would be like and she also did a very thorough eye exam to ensure my vision hadnt changed from my initial consultation. This is important because when you have a prescription burned into your eyes with a Laser you want to know you have the right prescription the first time. Dr. Banales also went so far as to confuse my eye a bit to be 100% sure I had an accurate eye exam. Ive worn glasses/contacts since 1997, this was one of my best eye exams ever. My grandfather was also an Opthamologist so my standards are almost unreasonably high.A young girl was working with me primarily before my surgery. She set me up with some numbing eye drops and put a hairnet on me. I sat next to one other patient in the pre-op area before being called in. As the numbing drops kicked in I met my surgeon Dr. Youssefzadeh. He was young, pleasant and calm. He shook my hand and said, With your prescription this is going to really change your life. In the operating room I layed down and proceeded to have a layer of my cornea burned off with some sort of acid solution. I then starred into the green laser for 18 seconds. The laser made my eyes smoke and it smelled like burning hair. Honestly, if they had to poke razor blades into my eyes to improve my vision I would have done it. 18 seconds later, they rinse my eye and all of a sudden I could see the surgical team! This was truly life changing for me. I held my breath for the second eye because I knew I was going to smell burnt eye ball but it too was over in 18 seconds. A bandage contact was placed in each eye and I was then assited to sit up. Immediately after the laser Dr. Y placed punctal plugs into my eyes to prevent excessive dryness. I was then fitted with a plastic eye shield and told to go nap for a few hours. PRK is a difficult surgery and recovery is longer than LASIK. I am 5 days post-op today writing this review and seeing about 20/30. Day 3 and 4 were the hardest with blurred vision and itchy eyes. Today I was able to see fairly clearly. I drove comfortably to my appointment where I was greeted again by Dr. Banales. I showed up early and was seen early. Dr. Banales was very comforting again and explained the pattern of healing I should expect and gave me some guidance on how to ensure my vision heals 100%. Im currently seeing in maybe 480-720p. I have moments of 1080p and Im hopeful to get to 4K.The LASIK Vision Institute changed my life. I am eternally grateful. I recommend them wholeheartedly. God Bless LVI OAK!

Since my childhood, I have been wearing glasses then switched over to contacts. Still, I always found this to be limiting myself. So I went in for the free evaluation. Dr. Lee was very nice and explained the current state of my eyes and what were the options I could choose from. I went with PRK.Front desk folks, especially Jakylin and Carmen did a wonderful job of packaging a reasonable price and scheduling the surgery as well as follow-up appts.On the day of surgery I was a bit nervous but Dr. Abrams made me feel so comfortable. He was explaining the steps all while performing the procedure on my eyes. I was done in less than 10 mins. It took me about 2-3 months to fully recover and I have close to 20/10 vision now. I couldn’t be happier than that!All the staff here are very friendly and they have a pretty solid process outlined so you can’t go wrong with them.Highly recommended!

Like all of you, I read all the reviews and looked up all best eye surgery centers in the bay! After all, it’s about my eyes! In the process of researching them and try to make an appointment for consultation, I learned the LASIK Vision is my best option. First of all, the way they run the business let me to choose my appointments based on my schedule. With some other practices, they couldn’t even accommodate flexibility with consultation! I had to wait over a month to even know what they offer, or even if I’m qualified.In my first visit, Ernesto with another lady did my consultation and exams. They were pleasant, fun, knowledgeable and professional. We laughed and I got all my questions answered. Then I talked with Jacqueline their office manager about pricing. She was the most honest and sweet person. I didn’t feel any sell pressure. She genuinely wanted me to choose what is best for me. Because of the great experience I had, I chose to go with them. They also offer lifetime touch up, which is amazing!For my pre-op, another Dr did my exam, and she was expert and fast! I was in and out in 15 min.Here we com the day of surgery! Even though they said 2 to 4 hours, we got there at 12pm and I was on my way back home by 1.30pm. I met Dr Abrams that day, and he is a nice, pleasant, confidant and experienced. He walked me through the whole procedure which took less than 15 min. No pain or mistake or anything uncomfortable. For me it was all mental battle which is easy to overcome when you have team of experts with you.Right after 10 min I could see. Next morning I woke up look at heels from my window clear and crisp with no glasses or contact lenses!They even accommodate for next day office visit on Sunday only for surgery patients.I just did my first visit, again in and out in less than 30 min. My vision is 20 - 20! Yeeey!It’s like a miracle. I highly highly recommend it. I can’t wait till week or two past to see how it can get even better, as Dr keeps telling me!
