Worst place to call. NEVER answer their phones, whenever you call im. NEVER. I have to take in a special need child who cannot talk at all to describe pain, but can only scream and cry. My doctor told me call them and set up an appointment with them as soon as possible. I have tried the whole week every early morning to call them, but no one answer the phone instead it keeps going to a message giving information and then it cuts off.

There are plenty of decent people including doctors, nurses, and staff, working at Highland Hospital. Without going into detail I have had both very good and very bad experiences with Highland Hospital. And I felt that it was time that this ‘love-hate’ relationship had ended and have decided to move on. I’ll miss my PCP most of all followed by my surgeon who shared similar tastes and wore the same jacket. And then there is the beautiful new building, courtyard, and cafeteria.

I am beyond dissatisfied with their customer service and attention to people who volunteer. I wasted to much time, time they never appreciated. Long story short trying to volunteer with them is a waste of time.

My self, advocacy company and insurance has been trying to get a hold of them about my 80k (probably overpriced bill) for over 9 months now. I had a wonderful surgeon, but the administration at this place is subpar.

Worst hospital in the Bay Area. They do not care about their patients at all. They can’t even get the dates correct when they are booking you and appointment. Will let you leave the ER with a broken foot and NO FALLOW UP APPOINTMENT. They had me sit for 3 weeks with a broken foot becuse I was able to go into surgery. DO NOT COME TO THIS HOSPITAL AT ALLL COST. CLOSE THIS PLACE BETTER YET!!! Waste of tax money -10000 stars

This hospital gave me life saving antibiotics when I had a high fever from a UTI. They refused to treat me until they ran tests. I asked to bypass as I was sure of the issue, and I waited over an hour with a 104degF fever for results. The tests came back negative and they gave me the treatment I asked for as if it came back positive anyway. Its tough to get an IV in my arm and when I asked for the phlebotomist, my request was also refused until after ~30 minutes of continuous sticking and internal bleeding from unsuccessful attempts. When the phlebotomist came after I had to scream for them to get him, it was done in a few seconds.I spent months trying to get anyone to talk to me about a bill that was given to me for tests that were unnecessary, along with charges for a doctor that was out of network without my informed consent. Today is about 1 year later, and I finally got through to the hospital asking if they had records of my emails, disputes, voicemails and I was told this is the first time they had record of me contacting them. My hand was forced when I was told I would be contacted within 24-48 hours to discuss my dispute, at which point a creditor calls to collect stating they are my contact now.I am lucky to be blessed and be able to pay these charges when push comes to shove to save my credit. It feels like there is no help for this situation. I cried for our country, and I cried for our medical system where billing coders are pushed to add anything they can to bill without considering the level of service provided. The silver lining is that I hope my $5,000 bill for $5 of Vietnam era antibiotics and saline pays for homeless needing treatment that are unable to pay. This is truly criminal.

AHS is affiliated with Alameda Hospital. I went to AH for a 100% routine insurer procedure. The hospital was paid by my provider, but not the reading that was sent to AHS which is out of network. I tried multiple times for an explanation from AHS, provider & hospital. Only one who reached out to me was my provider. AHS does not return phone calls or e-mails. They do not even deserve 1 star.

They make it very difficult to call and ask questions or dispute a claim. Most of the staff is really sweet and seem to care about their job, but the system in general is sloppy and overcharges. I went in to get a test done, but then a couple weeks later I got the bill and it did not have my insurance attached so it was very expensive. I have tried multiple times to get it reversed, but they dont seem to care. I would not recommend coming here.

Alameda Health Systems is a network of hospitals. This review is specifically for Alameda Health Systems not the specific hospitals within them. When dealing with medical and health issues it seems the worst part is dealing with the insurance and billing afterward. Alameda Health Systems has been extremely difficult to deal with. I have tried to pay my bill on numerous occasions but they make it nearly impossible to do so. No one returns messages and if you call the billing number you can expect to be on hold for over two hours. Who has time for that?! I dont know if they are extremely understaffed but they should make it easier for patients to make payments on their bill. There is nothing available on their website so you can access your bill, make payments or anything. If they are so understaffed then they should think about using modern technology to assist them.

I had a very bad headache. Arrived at the hospital at 4 o’clock and didn’t get called until 7 hours later . When they finally called me to the back I had to wait and extra 2 hours to see a doctor. I wouldn’t advise anyone to come to this hospital, the worst hospital I have ever been to.

I am over 60yrs old and have been asking for a Colonoscopy for over 10yrs, so far I have NEVER had one. My dr has REFUSED based on ACMC policy. He says he is NOT ALLOWED to refer a patient for the test. My insurance, Alameda Alliance Complete Care has recommended I have it and it is covered. I would like to be able to get an answer from they who made this lousy decision for my life.
