I have been in an unfortunate spot where Ive been to a dozen dentists since I was a kid. Some retired, some moved, and some just didnt do a good job and I didnt like going to their office.We were referred to Dr. Kook by my in-laws, and we are so glad that we went! Right away, we were pleased that the office staff is really amazing. They are so easy to talk with, and for people who dont like going to the dentist, that is usually the first hurdle to overcome.The hygienists are also wonderful. They are friendly and do a great job. Dr. Kook is absolutely fantastic. Not only is he personable, but it is clear that he keeps up with the latest developments and he just knows what hes doing. Since I have the experience of several different doctors, its easy to compare. Dr. Kook definitely knows what hes doing and he is good at it. It makes procedures go more quickly with the least amount of discomfort.

Doctor Kook and his staff are awesome. Very comfortable atmosphere. Makes a dentist visit a pleasure. Also, Doctor Kook’s baseball knowledge is impressive!

I am very glad I found Oakland Dental Care and Dr. Kook. The entire staff is very nice and welcoming; Dr. Kook is by far the best dentist Ive ever had. I had been avoiding scheduling a dental visit because I had neglected my dental health for a few years and was truly embarrassed about it. When one of my molars broke, I could procrastinate no longer. I reached out to Oakland Dental Care and within an hour I was sitting in Dr. Kook’s chair waiting to be scolded about how this never would have happened if I had addressed the lost filling earlier. That scolding never came. In fact, there was no judgment at all - just a very kind, gentle dentist who wanted to take good care of me. I am very impressed by Dr. Kook’s expertise and use of modern technology; each of my visits has been comfortable and painless. The office staff is wonderful also - friendly, helpful, and caring. Dr. Kook really cares for his patients . He called me today to see how I was feeling after a cavity procedure. This is what really motivated me to write this review . I have worked at a dental office in the past . Iam familiar with dental procedures. I was impressed with Dr. Kook technology . He was able to detect a cavity that was advanced and needed care. 6 months ago at different office same cavity was considered minor with traditional technique . He took images before and after and reassured me the need of this intervention. Also he made sure that I was very comfortable throughout the procedure . I was very comfortable with his care and appreciate his care and staff kindness to his patients . After my procedure I have a normal bite and no issues to report . I recommend this office due to their professionalism and quality of care . Thank you!

Of all the dentists I have ever been to, Dr. Kook is, hands down, #1! From the moment I walk into the office, his staff is always warm and welcoming, and are willing to answer any questions I may have. They all adhere to the Covid-19 procedures, making me feel very safe throughout the visit. The office is very clean and comfortable.I need a few things done in my mouth; so, Dr. Kook and I laid out a plan of attack to check each item off the list. I like that he discusses with me and explains everything that needs to be done, rather than just making random appointments in which I dont even know what is being done in my own mouth.Dr. Kook is a very smart dentist, as well as kind, funny, and clearly a family oriented man. (You will see when you pay him a visit!) Which I think is nice because I can see the genuine care and heart he has for others. And I can honestly say that I have never been to a singing dentist, before Dr. Kook! He serenaded me with a bit of showtunes before a procedure, as a conversation of Theatre had come up. :) Not to mention, while working on my tooth, he played classical music during the procedure, which was very relaxing.Dr. Kooks dental assistants are also super friendly and social, making my visit more personal and very comforting. They also work very well with Dr. Kook, anticipating his next moves, and having tools ready when he needs them; making for a seamless process.On the same day of my appointments, I receive a checkup call from Dr. Kook, reviewing our visit and making sure that I am ok and everything is well since leaving the office.Appointments seem very easy to get within a reasonable amount of time. For my first cleaning, I was able to get and appointment within two days from when I had first called.Overall, I think you can tell that I am very pleased with Oakland Dental Care! The proof is in my smile!!

I usually am super nervous about dentist visits but Mr. Kook and his dental assistant were so gentle with my sensitive mouth and compassionate. They made me feel comfortable, safe & I felt no pain even in the X-ray procedure. I am definitely coming back to him for all my dental needs. Overall great experience!!!

When you become a Grand father it seems that everything about you changes including your teeth unfortunately and while I was visiting my 5 years old she look right into my eyes and said Granddaddy you have brown teeth you gotta love the pure honesty of a 5 year but it does smack you with reality that I had 1 brown looking front tooth so I went to see Santa DR Kook and ask him for my two front teeth for Christmas before I returned to see my little 5 year old again and Dr Kook in a short amount of time was able to replace the and give me my new two front teeth and they look great and even my wife said very nice, now the true test is coming up to see what the little 5 year old will say or will she just move on to another part of this ageing grandpas bodyThanks again Doctor Happy Holidays to your family and Staff

It was our daughters first dental appointment and for her experience, it was an amazing one. The staff from front to back is very friendly,personable, kid oriented and super patient with the kids. My daughter opened her little mouth and had her first cleaning and check up without and issue. We would recomend Dr. Kooks office to anyone with little kids for sure.

Dr. Kook is extremely accommodating. My son needed his tooth fixed on short notice and there was no hesitation or e tea appointment. They are also very kind about scheduling children around sports. Very rare to find. The hygienist was also one of the kindest!

The bottom line, his work is impeccable; hes an artist when it comes to teeth. My teeth look as good today as they did when I was a teenager. I’m turning 26 soon so I needed to get my dental work done before I’m no longer on my mom’s insurance. I searched the area and found this place and Dr. Kook. First of all, the woman who answers the phone Christina is such a sweet and lovely person and she always has a smile on her face - you can even hear it in her voice! Honestly, everyone there has a smile on their face. I really wish I could remember all their names. ):I’m not scared of the dentist - never was - but they really make you feel comfortable here. Always genuinely interested in whatever topic you talk about, always maintaining eye contact, and ALWAYS have sincere words of encouragement or comfort. When I was told that I needed a few fillings because of decay, they didn’t scold me that I didn’t floss enough, but were super supportive instead. During my first filling Dr. Kook informed me that they needed to do a root canal because the decay had hit the root. So I went back for a second visit to finish the root canal and during the process, he always asked if I was comfortable, if I felt any pain, and I could tell (even though I was numb) he was working very gently and carefully - I practically fell asleep to be honest. At one point I did feel a little twinge and he immediately stopped and inserted more novacane and waited a minute for it to take effect before starting again. After each visit, Dr. Kook will personally call to make sure you’re feeling alright, too, which I’ve never experienced before and think that’s honestly such a kind act.And when you’re leaving, everyone that sees you head out will send you off with warm wishes of “be safe!” and “we’ll see you soon!” and “it was great seeing you again!” I love that about this place. I really couldn’t recommend Oakland Dental Care or Dr. Kook enough to people, especially people who are nervous when it comes to dentists because they really make you as comfortable as possible and will always respect your fears.

Awful! Estimated my extensive dental work at 10,000 charged way over at 40,000. Dr. Kook put implants in on the bottom of my mouth that upon second opinion should never be put in due to how weak the material is! Dr Kook really is a Krook!!!!

Dr. Kook filled my cavities today, which was my first time getting fillings. I was terrified about the novocaine because I really don’t handle needles well, but the way he does it is literally painless. He worked quickly, but thoroughly, and I am very happy with the results. I went to Dr. Kook knowing I had cavities in all 4 of my wisdom teeth. My previous dentist told me they should be removed. Dr. Kook took the time to examine them and explain to me that he could fill them. The fact that he was able to prevent me from having to find an oral surgeon to have 4 teeth removed is impressive. Then, when he filled my cavities, I could not even feel the needle when he was administering the Novocaine. Dr. Kook was very professional and consistently asked if I was ok during the procedures. Dr. Kook is an excellent dentist & I highly recommend him. His staff is also very friendly and professional.

Dr.Kook met me on a Saturday night to give me a new bridge....my temporary bridge fell out and Dr. Kook met me right away and proceeded to form all new front teeth for me with his assistant Christina , all on a Saturday night....!!!! What a way to spend a weekend...Dr.Kook is the most dedicated and amazing dentist I have ever met, my teeth look exactly like mine and he made them himself in the office while working me....What a way to GO!!!!

When I sat down for my root canal, Dr. Kook told me, If you feel any pain, raise your left hand. I can not imagine that anyone has ever raised their hand, the procedure was absolutely painless. Im usually very restless at the doctors, but it is very hard to be restless sitting in a Tempur-Pedic dental chair, while listening to Frank Sinatra. Better chance you fall asleep in the chair than feel restless or in pain. Dr. Kook is a very nice guy, and I highly recommend him for your next dental experience.

I have been going to Dr. Kook for years. I have had him bring all my decades of aging dental work current. He considers the whole patient, and your changing health challenges. He is an absolute skilled professional while at the same time being kind and concerned for your comfort. He follows up bigger procedures with a phone call, and will always fit you in last minute if you have a sudden onset of pain needing immediate attention. His dedicated capable staff is always helpful.I also cant say enough for Brittany, his hygienist. She is by far the most skilled in the latest procedures that I have ever experienced. She has a wonderful personality and easily picks up on chats we had the last visit, months ago - about my oral health or fun non-work topics.

My elderly father broke a tooth and Dr. Kook accommodated him the same day. He was was very gentle and kind and took care of the problem. His staff was also very friendly.

There is no one more compassionate than Dr. A. Kook. If I needed to fly across the ocean to be in his are - I would.A procedure that should have taken no more than 1 hour took 3.5 instead. The novocaine injections which he administered to me for the past 22 years suddenly ceased to work. The more novocaine I received ( at least 8!) the less it worked, the more time was wasted in waiting, in turn, the more we waited the more tense and frustrated I became. Needless to say a vicious cycle .After conferring with a colleague it was decided to give me laughing gas combined with a different variation of the same medicine.All along Dr. Kook demonstrated the patience of an angle with genuine care and concern making sure I felt absolutely no pain, while his waiting room filled with patients. This is what I call a Mensh.His staff is equally friendly and supportive making one feel taken care of with great professionalism.Thank you all

As is typical Im sure the pain began late Saturday night... Up all night and suffered all day Sunday..Pulsating, horrible pain...Woke up Monday morning and called Dr Kook as the office opened at 10am.. My last experience at my old dentist had been awful and I have been wanting to make a change.. Read such good things here I figured I would try him out. Receptionist was soooo kind and got me in at noon! Arrived pretty terrified but from the moment you walk in you feel relaxed and at home there. Dr. Kook saw me right away and showed me where the decay and infection was. Expressed my anxiety and a few minutes later was receiving nitrous oxide to relax with bluetooth headphones on.. Next comes the wand... It truly is magical! Its this computer driven way of administering novocaine that was, I SWEAR, painless! Once I was numb, Dr Kook and his assistant took their time and made sure I was ok every single step of the way. I can 100% honestly say I had a full root canal without even a moment of pain. I have finally found a dentist that Im not scared to go back to!!! If you are avoiding the dentist, go see Dr. Kook and you will be writing the next review I PROMISE!!

Have you ever heard of a child saying their dentist is their all time favorite doctor!? Mine says so! Most kids fear the dentist but it just shows how incredible the Dr. is! They have new technology for giving nocacane through a wand which is painless and not scary, the bedside manner is amazing, Dr. and staff are always asking you to make sure youre comfortable and doing alright. I am approching 51 years old. I have been a patient of Dr. Kooks since I was 18 years old. Before coming to Oakland Dental Care, I had some dental problems such as chipped teeth due to atheletic injuries, and tooth decay due to some neglect. Dr. Kooks skill is un-matched as he solved every one of my issues one at a time. He has mastered the latest industry technology coupled with his personal touch to formulate a pro-active dental health plan. I can say this becasue I have had a few dentists before I came to Oakland Dental Care and he is the very best that I have ever experienced. Not only is his chair-side manner very engaging as he is a very warm friendly person, BUT his skills in dentistry are top notch. I implicitly trust Dr. Kook with my and my familes total dental health.I have a very significant dental history. There is work that was done by Dr. Kook still from the 1980s that is still rock solid in my mouth. My Father who is now 92 years old, has fillings and caps that he has had from Dr. Kook from the same time period that are also still rock solid. So to sum things up; Dr. Kook is not just the best Dentist in the area (maybe this part of the country), but I consider him a family friend.
