This was an amazing place to stop off and walk through, I had no idea Oakland had anything like this. Really peaceful area to walk through. The climate was perfect. The incline is really minimal very easy to walk. We didn’t run into any mountain lions or bears, overall a great walk. I didn’t see any bathrooms or any places to fill up water.

Closed in rainy weather, this area does not allow dogs off leash, you must have park permit for some dog walking areas, lock your doors and leave no valuables in the vehicle. Take dog poop bag, pack it in and out. Beautiful beautiful beautiful area, like all EBRPD parks.

Quick access to two trailheads – Golden Spike, which leads into Redwood Regional Park, and MacDonald, leading into Chabot Regional Park – directly off of Redwood Road. Super handy!
