So when they offer you a “””internship””” but forget the fact that it’s quota based position I don’t like surprises. I would of like to have known that. They make you do it rain or shine which is annoying. Door to door is annoying.
Dont waste your money. They are canvassing for their salaries. And their script makes them sound like brainless zombies. They think because it is a cause for clean water they are entitled to be rude and aggressive. Alls it does is turn people off to the organization.
We need more organizations like CWA to hold companies accountable for polluting our water systems. Bringing the necessary information to the public , rallying activists, locating and exposing wrongful practices is what they continue to do. Water is life!
They are a political lobbying organization, so are *NOT* a 501(3)c non-profit. The National Rifle Association of environmentalists, you might say.If you apply for a job here, expect to invest 4-20 hours in the process and most likely (80%+) of the time be fired after your first or second shift canvassing. Your first 8-hour day will be mostly an unpaid audition - and any subsequent days you will earn a per diem of around $50 until you exceed your quota and are eligible for the stated hourly wage.For an organization who touts itself as fossil fuel divested they will gladly drive 30-70 miles to raise money. The WMass office will travel as far as much of Connecticut and southern half of Vermont and NH!
Dont appreciate them coming to my house at 8:45pm. Pounding on my front door. They deliberately go out in inclement weather to make you feel sorry for them and get you to invite them in.
