I attended this class twice during two different times in my life for the whole class. It is a very challenging course which I liked. The math was hard to learn, but Steve (the teacher/instructor and founder of the school course) helped me as much as needed always during class when needing to understand better. He helped me learn the math behind figuring out bridles and different working load limits of how much can be hung from rigging bridles in different scenarios. I learned a lot about ground rigging and my favorite part in the hands on classes up in the school grid was learning about theatre grid rigging. The teacher Steve cares greatly about the safety of his students and competency of the knowledge he teaches for safety to always be number one during classes to prep us for real world situations out on the job sites. The course materials are very intense and the school supplied all of the necessary tools needed for the course, ie calculator, knots book, notebooks etc along with a great course textbook. The textbook has a wealth of information that I still look back to when need be for helping me stay up to par on job sites and situations. The rigging hands on portion of the class was very challenging yet very rewarding and helped me even get into better shape physically during the class and afterwards motivated me to stay in shape health wise for the stamina and strength needed for high steel grid rigging. The class is also not just for people like myself as open steel and high steel rigging but also for ground riggers, chain hoist technicians and even head tour riggers to map and plot the best hanging scenarios and situations in different arenas and stage theatres safely. The chain hoist section of the class was very fun as was the motor control system part of the class, getting to take apart a hoist and motor control system to learn the parts and components along with how they work and connect together which can be helpful for road tour riggers needing to service chain hoist equipment out on the tour. All in all the course is extremely thorough and again rewarding for our knowledge in what it takes to become a great theatrical/industrial worker and rigger all around. My number one recommendation is to study hard for the final tests of in book test, math and the hands on bridle and knot sections of the course as well as take time before attending the class to exercise and get in shape for the hands on class parts like pulling rigging bridle points. Was great fun, I met great people in my class and I may even look to attend a third time someday.

It was a good class and I feel like I learned a lot. However after leaving I never heard back from Steve Kendall about obtaining proof that I attend the class. It was a little weird that he didnt take credit card, I had to send a money order via mail. I was supposed to get certificates, calculator, pictures basically everything that was in the website and never received it ( I got the its in the mail several times). He is also not an ETCP recognized trainer (so no credits to qualify for the test). A few things are misleading on the website. But the content of the class is good, it is pulled from many different industry companies, manuals, and books.
