Martha is the best dog trainer I have ever worked with. She helped me and my family out with a german shepherd/rottewieler mix that came to us at about 1.5 years old with some troublesome habits but a great heart. With Marthas help, Nala, our dog became one of the best dogs ever!

Martha is a competent trainer and gives valuable advice. The reason I don’t recommend her is that she charges in advance and doesn’t provide the service agreed upon. She charged me for 13 days of boarding for my puppy, picked him up one (1) day late and returned him four (4!) days early because my dog according to her had separation anxiety and wouldn’t let her go about her business. A dog trainer couldn’t deal with a dog! Can’t describe the details in a short review. But bottom line, one day stay was $150 (now I know there are much cheaper options for puppy boarding), I paid in advance and never got any (None!!!) money back , and we also had to figure out dog-sitting arrangements while I was on a business trip. On top of that, I never got my dog’s favorite bed back. If you do business with Martha, don’t pay in advance. But I’d recommend going elsewhere altogether. And by the way, my dog doesn’t seem to have issues with the two things Martha pointed out: marking inside homes and separation anxiety.

We found Martha on internet. She advised to buy a puppy package ($750 for 6 lessons) which is more expensive than most trainers. We paid her upfront as she requested. Subsequently, she was late by 30+min for 4/5 appointments, then cancelled and rescheduled app #5 in the last hour stating that she was in Ithaca. She did not show up for an appointment #5 at all subsequently stating that it was not in her book, although she was the one who rescheduled it. We have not seen her for a month, although she still owes us 2 appointments. She does not respond to the phone, messages or emails. Horrible experience!
