Maria does a really wonderful job grooming our extra excitable Irish Doodle, Reggie. He always turns out exactly how we like him to look, and not one clipper/scissor cut yet! You can tell how much Maria loves her furry clients and they adore her back. I would recommend her for any size pup:-)

They were very flexible when I needed a few hours of doggy daycare while visiting Newport and the Oregon Coast Aquarium! If you’re traveling with pets but don’t want to limit your trip options, I’d highly recommend Moondoggy. They were efficient and caring with my dog.

Everyone here is wonderful. I am so impressed with their easy gentle way with the dogs. My Leo is old and been thru serious trauma when I got him. They had him playing like a puppy.treated like one of their own.

My family was vacationing near Newport recently and we were looking for a place to board our dog for a few hours while we went to the sea lion caves. I called ahead and the guy I spoke with let me know that they had openings.When I arrived, no one in the small lobby was wearing a mask and there were no signs regarding COVID-19 precautions. I tried to relax, because Im on the anxious side (we have a 10 month old) and masks arent mandated for vaccinated people... No big deal. Then the guy at the front desk (maybe the owner?) let me know that he wasnt vaccinated. Why should I get the vaccine if I can still get it? (Maybe so you wont be hospitalized or die if you get it. Or, I dunno, so you dont spread it around and kill people.)Maybe he felt the need to tell me this because I was wearing a mask?Anyway, before I could really process anything, he was HOLDING MY PHONE to look at my dogs vaccine records (ironic!). I had offered to email these to him over the phone and he said that wasnt necessary. I had zoomed in on them, but I guess he couldnt see clearly enough, so he took my phone WITHOUT ASKING and proceeded to zoom in and touch all over the screen.I dont think he was being intentionally inconsiderate. I think he genuinely did not understand that touching a (masked) persons phone during a pandemic, immediately after outing himself as an anti-vaxxer, was inappropriate.I try not to judge people and basically never write bad reviews, but this was a really weird and alarming experience.The services might be great, but I wouldnt know because I didnt feel safe being there. Or leaving my dog!

Very friendly. Fair prices.But they did not groom my Terriers ears at all or clean them! Even all the hair inside the ears wasnt touched! I thought that was always a package deal when it came to little terriers getting groomed. Like the bath, haircut, nails, cleaning up the bum area, anal glands, cleaning up a face area, and cleaning the ears! Right? Then I proceeded to get home and start reading reviews after I went there. Bad idea! The dude has severe anger issues! Its obvious of you read all the reviews. And there would be HUGE problems if he was mean to my pup. Just confused after reading some of the reviews why he wasnt turned in and investigated. Nit okay at all. It smelt like piss badly too! Dont advise anyone goes here!

I have used them several times for both of my dogs. I have always been very happy with their work until yesterday. The groomer cut my puppys hair shorter than I wanted but it will grow back. I will be bringing them back.

This place doesnt seem like the place from the past reviews. We found the man working there very abrasive, uninviting, and distracted. We considered canceling our plans to leave our pup there for daycare after the initial vibes but didnt have other options. When we picked her up, they were nice enough to let us wash her legs off for free which we appreciated because the whole kennel area smelled like piss and she clearly had piss on her paws. She also had an injury to her eye with some lost hair below it. Were not sure what happened and just wanted to get out of there. We would not leave our dog here again. The price was reasonable but honestly I would pay more if they would be better staffed and improve the conditions and supervision.

Jim is amazing! He is training my dog to not pull me while walking. After just 5 days I was able to walk him and no pulling. Truly a man who loves his job! I cant say enough good things about him and his staff. Truly caring people.

They did an amazing job with my timid little guy! He takes lots of time getting use to others, but I truly felt I could trust him with this business. Once I returned, I could see that he was comfortable with the professionals. Not only was this a kind experience for my dog, but it was quick and he turned out looking so handsome (and for an affordable price)!

Took my min pinn in to get nails cut. Groomer split 2 nails in half and made a 3rd bleed charged 18$ and said I cant finish but you need to take her to the vet cause I cant stop the bleeding.

I cant express my gratitude enough for being able to call Jim last minute explain we had medical emergency. He took our dog, is feeding her, and we dont have an end date yet.If you are looking for a place for your pet long term, short term, or daily...look no further. They will also bathe your pets for a reasonable price 🐾

My dog can be a handful and the gentleman who checked us in was a 30+ year dog trainer and even made a space for my 2 crazies away from other dogs. I really appreciated that and they seemed very happy with their stay. He even called them good dogs 😂 very nice people. Only thing id say to fix is the smell of urine when you walk in being very strong. Bleach can hurt and eat through paws so maybe a good organic cleaner would do the job.

Luna, a smooth coated blue merle collie, has been bathed and groomed by Brenda at Moondoggie. Luna has had 3 grooming sessions in the last 2 months. Quarantine = stinky & fleas, now gone!

I drove 30 minutes to get here before they closed, I got here 15 minutes before 4pm and they were already closed.

My dog was able to get a bath last minute. The bather did a fantastic job! My dog was extremely dirty because he had swam in the slough a few times and also rolled in poop. The price was also very reasonable. I would highly recommend this place!

Great facilities, and a very understanding staff. We arrived after the 5pm cutoff for the self-serve dog wash, but the staff were incredibly kind and allowed us to use the facilities to clean our three pups from their long day romping on the beach. We saw nothing but happy dogs, and our pups got to enjoy the drove home smelling like oatmeal shampoo rather than seaweed!

Great service. They trimmed and bathed my dogs and they looked and smelled great after. Super friendly and definitely care about animals. I did not take advantage of their doggy day care.

They friendly and were able to clip my Jack Russells nails with care and he hates his paws touched ! They also bathed my large dog she loved it. The price is right very inexpensive for the services they offer and very good with all breeds.

Had a great experience using them for the first time. Our dog spent 6 nights there with no problems. Our dog has special medical needs and required special considerations, and Moondoggy accommodated us fully. Professional and friendly staff, who encouraged us to call and check in as much as we wanted while gone.

Moondoggies is a nice dog business that has both daycare and grooming. My dog and my brothers dog are comfortable and happy when there for the day or just spa-dog. The people there care about you and your pet.

My pit mix loves Moondoggy Daycare and I love that she has fun, is supervised and that they seem to be great with her high energy level. She can be a handful but since coming here she is less aggressive to other dogs. She always seems happy to be going there, gets way excited to see Brenda and her doggy pals. They have been very open with me about her behavior, both good and bad and have helped me understand some of my Lunas quirks. I like the convenience of the daycare packages. I can be in and out in a jiffy if I need to be. I would like to see longer hours on weekends but otherwise its awesome!

Dont let the other reviews fool you. I knew within the first five seconds this was not a good place for dogs. It reeked of urine, the daycare area was extremely small with every dog looking petrified, and its completely unwelcoming. I checked this out on a recommendation and Im recommending you look elsewhere. I couldnt fathom leaving an animal at this location.

Been meaning to come for years now, my grandmother swears by Moondoggy but every time visiting from PDX monthly, other priorities come up, never enough time. Finally went today.... AMAZING. Prices fantastic, Jasmin(Im pretty sure thats her name) is beyond, and I mean COMPLETELY beyond amazing. Did I say amazing? Thats an understatement. Got 2 nail clips and one haircut. Honestly having an employee like that is what can make or break a business and she certainly makes it. Thanks!!

Jim is the best guy ever

We were visiting Newport from out of town and our dog got unexpectedly dirty at the beach. We were able to walk in without an appt and use the self service wash without any wait. The guy who was working there, Jim, was very informative and helpful.

Place needs a bit of updating but they took great care of my doggie and they are very reliable. Make sure you have your dogs vaccines records with you or be able to call your vet to verbally confirm that your pet is up to date on shots

Our dog Charlie loves it there. He comes home tired and happy. I grab his leash and say lets go to daycare. Hes at the door waiting. I was unsure about daycare cause we went to another facility in town and my dog was attacked. When I called moondoggy they made sure my dogs needs where meant. They even invited me to come look at the facility. The owner really loves dogs and cares about his clients. Thank you guys for having Charlie.

Unless you are okay with archaic dominance-based training being used on your pup I would strongly suggest you not use Moondoggy Daycare or Boarding. As a previous client, I have witnessed the owners of Moondoggy smack a dog on its side for misbehaving, grab ahold of a dogs muzzle and hold it shut while yelling in a dogs face, and spray Freon no-bark directly into dogs faces (can cause frostbite if it is put directly on skin- the bottle has warnings about spraying it a certain amount of feet away from an animal and never spraying it directly at an animal). The owners also have no problem rolling your dog and pinning it to the ground until it gives in.Its your own dog- and you can decide how you want it trained. If you have decided that positive reinforcement is the way to go for your animal then I think you have a right to know that your animal may be mistreated at Moondoggy. When you leave your animal somewhere you want to know that you can trust that they will be loved and cared for, sadly at Moondoggy this isnt something they do.

Love this guy and my beagle loves him, too. My dog, Buster, has terrible separation anxiety and I cant leave him home alone or he will tear the house apart. I had to take him everywhere with me and, even then, he would pee in my car or chew up the seat belts. I tried crate training him myself but Buster bloodied his face and urinated on himself trying to get out.Moondoggie, after having the same problems with him (destroyed walls and door trim) crate trained him for me. I just bought Busters new crate and he loves it! I tell him to load up and in he goes......no howling or destructive behaviors. Ive been able to leave him at home alone for the first time in 8 years!!

Do not take your dogs to this grooming took my dog ewok hes a older shizu wanted my dog to get bathed and hair cut nails trimmed went back to pick him up got back home to realize she got to close and knicked his ear I will never take my dog back their again.

We had been to Moondoggys before and always appreciated the clean, convenient self wash. They are friendly and have everything you need to groom your dog. This time our mutt found a stinking pile to roll in at Agate Beach. That dog was so nasty and she stunk! I half expected wed need to hose her down in the alley before bringing her in. They were as friendly as always and kindly provided us with deodorizing shampoo and a rubber brush so we didnt have to touch our dog to wash her. She also gave us a bucket of soapy water and a scrubber for our dogs encrusted collar. Thanks Moondoggy for making a bad chore much more pleasant.

We are visiting for 2 months and our dog needed nails trimmed and a bath. For $8, I got to use their tub, shampoo, towels, dryer, scissors, combs, etc. and the owner cleaned up after us!
