Pretty sub par. My records were moved from my old optometrist this year due to the old one closing their practice. I figured why not just switch over. My appointment had to get moved because of an insurance rule and when I showed up at the new time they didn’t have me in the system… I specifically took time out of work to come here and don’t have time for that. I would avoid!!!

A wonderful office with friendly staff. Dr. Choi is helpful and very knowledgeable. Stephanie is a true gem!

Kips Bay Optical was so helpful after an issue with a previous eye doctor and some insurance issues. Stephanie at the front was knowledgeable and friendly. She took care of multiple issues for me. Dr. Choi was also great and talked through options of prescriptions to make sure I was happy! I look forward to remaining a patient there.

I have been getting glasses from here regularly. I like the fact the place is within walking distance, takes my insurance, appointments are easy, the doc is knowledgeable and overall the place feels welcoming being the store well maintained, bright and tidy clean.However, there are a few thing which can be improved, the sales representative show little to no interest in helping you pick your frames/glasses, options are limited and the pricing can be questionable.My insurance covered $200 for just a frame and the same frame 6 months later costed me $99 with prescription glasses (I had already exhausted my insurance this time). A friendly advice when buying out of pocket always ask for the $99 deal which covers the frame + good quality prescription glasses. I know there are lot of good online/retail which sell frames + prescription for way cheaper but the quality of the frame and glasses I got for $99 was way way better than any of those.I continue going because the pros outweighs the cons.

I just came here for the first time to purchase contacts and the man working (a petite Caucasian man with glasses who is all of 5’4”) was extremely rude and nasty with me. If I am patronizing your business out of the COUNTLESS other opticians I can go to in the area, I expect a pleasant demeanor during a very brief exchange. I was so turned off by his attitude that I left before I could make a purchase. I will be taking my business elsewhere. Please tell your employee to check his little man syndrome at the door, or continue to have him hurting your pockets.

They are amazing. I don’t know well the other doctors but Dr Kerinna and Dr Choi are incredibly nice and professional Been going there for the past year and a half and I’m not changing!

AdamHas been extremely helpful to my family in selecting designer frames and lenses. My family has been using Kips Bay Optical for the past year. Adam is very friendly and always answers all my questions professionaly and creatively. He gives great advice and returns calls promptly.

This was my first visiting, I made an appointment online and it didn’t go through to their system. However, everyone was able to squeeze me in and was able to get an eye exam. Everyone was very helpful and informative especially Dr. Choi he gave me pointers and tips during my exam about the contacts and my vision. So glad I made the choice toVisit Kips Bay Optical.

Kips Bay Optical just reopened post pandemic, extremely clean, number of customers limited in the space, everything was sanitized in front of me, staff very friendly and optometrist was kind, smart, very willing to answer all of my many questions.

I was completely impressed by the level of care at Kios Bay Optical. This was .y second visit. KBO offers a very personalized service. Each person introduced themselves and explained everything they would be doing, before it happened. They assisted me with finding new glasses, and informing me of my insurance benefits. They helped me get the best deal possible. I really appreciated their expertise, but most of all the excellent customer service they offered. I will definitely return.

After going here for 7 years, to get my contact lenses and glasses installed, they refused to see me because I was 10 minutes late even though the next appointment arrived early. I called when I realized I am running late to let them know and once I arrived they told me I have to reschedule. Meanwhile, out of 7 times I went there, I think I waited every single time, on e for about 20 minutes. The guy told me that I have to wait for the doctor, but they don’t have to wait for me. Even a restaurant in NYC gives 20 minutes before giving away your table.I’ve been going here because it was convenient before my office has moved. Running from UWS to see them and letting them know out of courtesy that I’m late, and them saying they cannot give 20 minutes extra of their time to their long-term client, only suggests how much they care.Additionally, they haven’t spelled my name correctly once in 7 years!Also, the doctors are not that great, and you can tell a big difference between a real doctor and these guys. Better to go see somebody more professional, than these money seeking, disrespectful people.

I now travel from Delaware for Kips Bay Optical after being a local area resident and patient for over 20 years. As another customer said, simply the best. I just received my new glasses this week. Perfect! Thank you Brian, Adam, and Dr. Z.

Great place. Had an issue with my frame. They fixed for free within minutes.

Place was recommended by our optical pediatrician. We went to get Mira flex glasses for our one year old son. The salesman tried to overcharge for the glasses, provided wrong information about the models and showed no intention of trying to provide good customer service. Further they could not provide any brochures on the available models. We would not recommend this place for getting glasses for children.

I have been coming here for 2 years. Dr. Scherick was very patience and did a very thorough check for my annual. The staff was super nice as well.

The doctor is grate in person, loved to talk with him. So polite and listen to my concern and gave me suggestion as well. Must visit him

I have been going to Dr. Sherrick for years. He is a great, professional and thorough doctor. His office is very nice and his staff is excellent -- very respectful, patient and kind. I highly, highly recommend Dr. Sherrick. He was recommended to me when I moved to NYC 12 years ago and I have recommended him to countless people since then. Wonderful, professional, expert eye doctor.

They gave my appointment to another person! I made my appointment about three weeks ago. I got a text message to confirm my appointment, WHICH I DID. They decided to give me a call the day before my appointment, which I did no answer because I work, but I guess they just dont care. I showed up early to my appointment in the morning and they told me they CANCELED my appointment. They wasted my time, they were inconsiderate and did not even bother to apologize for giving my appointment to another person. Im not coming back, terrible experience.

Most recently Brian fitted a fancy pair of frames I had been gifted with tri-focals. The lenses are perfect, and they work beautifully with the frames. Brian - hes the one I always see - talked me out of some tinting I had been considering, and he was right, it would have looked silly. Already knew these guys to be professionals. After explaining to me which type of progressive lenses I needed, they proceeded to make and sell me a pair of progressives that was about $100 less than was quoted me by the optician who originally sold me my frames and single vision lenses . They were quick, too.

Best eye doctor ever, have been seeing him for the last 12 years, he helped me to get RGP lenses and glasses to fit me best, tried other optometrist to get glasses and they couldnt get perfect fit. He cares much about the health of your eyes and very professional

I have been going to Kips Bay Optical for the last 15 years, although this may sound gratuitous they are terrific. I have tried boutique places like Occhiali as well as Worby Parker and none has compared to the personal treatment you get with Ken, Adam and Brain and the personal touch they bring. They are fair, professional and cost effective. They know you and treat you like family. I was recommended to them by clinicians at NYU Langone Medical Center, all of whom go there. One was a famous neurosurgeon and the other a renowned ophthalmologist -- you cannot get better than that

Very professional vision test for my DMV driver license renewal. Dr. Kenneth Scherick was very knowledgeable and patient, didnt wait, very pleasing. The test result can be sent to DMV electronically which is very convenient, highly recommend.

Quick, Easy, Thorough. Ill be back next year.

This place is garbage, avoid. They messed up my appointments and made me lose my whole sat morning. And when I came back to the rescheduled appointment the service was horrible and too expensive
