I saw Dr. Wisnicki for strabismus. He recommended surgery and I felt confident in his hands. He saw me before surgery and answered all my questions. I followed his orders and the eye healed perfectly . Wish I came to see him sooner regarding my issue.

A very good friend of mine went to Dr.Wisnicki for a cross eye corrective surgery. She was so hopeful and happy in the days leading to the surgery. I came with her the day of the surgery, bright and early, Dr.Wisnicki came over to us smiling and radiating positivity. He’s Amazing! At first I was really nervous about how fast the whole process was going but he assured me everything would be okay. Surgery went great and my eye is healing nicely.

My wife had a brain tumor removed three years ago, leaving her with 4th nerve palsy - double vision in a downward gaze and a head tilt in normal gaze (to prevent double). One doctor after another continued to indicate there was nothing that could be done, other than prisms which would not work for her (only move the problem). We even went through a gauntlet of appointments at a famous NYC hospital with their eye surgeon giving a confusing opinion that contradicted itself, stating eye surgery was not worth the risks. Then we went to Dr. Wisnicki as a second opinion. He walked into the room with his coffee in hand, and within minutes had reviewed her details, confirmed the extent of her double-vision, and calmly said, she could do nothing, try prisms that wouldnt fix it, or go for surgery. He stated surgery would be 80-90 % successful on first surgery, with small chance of a second follow-up surgery, risks were minimal. He put zero pressure on her, but simply explained the details. He even put up with me and my medical research. :) She signed up for the surgery before leaving that day.Needless to say, everything went as he stated, success with just one surgery and now 90% or more of the double vision is gone, no more head tilt or double vision on stairs, and her balance is so much better and less eye fatigue. We are shocked that after so many saying it was not possible, it was possible to Dr. Wisnicki.We were also impressed when we asked him why the first eye surgeon seemed to be so far off base and didnt feel comfortable doing it... Instead of putting her down or her hospital, he simply stated that maybe in another 10-years or so, she too would feel comfortable doing the same.Its always good when your first and last impression of a doctor can be summed up in one word...trust.

Dr. Wisnicki is one of the best ophthalmologists ever. My cousin came from Kurdistan of Iraq for sake of treating her eight year old daughter who had a strabismus that born with, and she just wanted her “eyes to be fixed” by her own words!We Chose Dr. Wisnicki according to the excellent reviews he is having constantly. When we met him, he was friendly, professional, and sounded confident and well knowledged. The parents were convinced to have a bilateral rectus recession surgery for their daughter.Dr.Wisnicki took into consideration that they were here in the states for a short period of time. Therefore, he scheduled her surgery to be done in the following day. The operation was done successfully within less than 24 hours at Mount Sinai hospital and my niece was discharged after couple of recovery hours. She enjoyed the remainder of her stay discovering the city’s attractions, got her new pair of glasses from the optical department at Dr. Wisnicki’s office in day number five! and the parents have received full operation report from Mr. Ian M. Dr. Wisnicki is the best Ophthalmologist EVER!!!!Its been over 2 years post strabismus surgery and I couldnt be any happier with the results. Dr. Wisnicki provided me with exceptional service. . I have strabismus/ estrophia which means one or both (in my case both) eyes turn inward. Ive had the condition since i was about 2 years old but it was intermittent and didnt bother me much throughout high school and college. It wasnt until my late twenties that it started to be a constant issue that made me very insecure, i also suffered from double vision and headaches.After about 6 or 7 months of pre-op office visits, (the waiting times could be long, but worth it), I was finally cleared for surgery which took about 3-4 hours. The results are phenomenal and healing process was very fast. I was out of work from Thursday until Tuesday. My eyes were sore for about a 2 weeks and they were red for about 6 weeks. I has to have an adjustable suture in my right eye so that one took a little longer to heal. I used over the counter pain meds the first few days and some eye drops the hospital provided for about 6 weeks and then I was all fixed my double vision is about 75 % better 2 years out.The only thing i would have done different was to have the surgery sooner. If your looking for surgeon an Ophthalmologist, youre in good hands with Dr. Wisnicki.I would love to post before and after pics but I dont see that option on here.
