Dr Berg started out with appropriate bedside manner towards me but seemed to be uncomfortable with my intensity & curiosity & excitability. Anyway he performed surgery on me & all went well but he was rude to my father.Dr Berg is a competent doctor but lacks some social skills with me. He neglected to examine me while obese in the hospital staying there Post operatives as required. He showed up but did not examine me to my astonishment. I would not return to him but from his patient reviews he’s in good graces with some other patients of his. However I feel uncomfortable with his bedside manners. I do acknowledge that a physician‘s job is quite stressful & not all physicians rnjoy dealing with all patients. But your experience may counter mine. The rating given to Dr Berg is based on his bedside manner & cuteness towards my father.

Dr. Berg is an exceptional surgeon. His work is pretty seamless. He gets straight to the point and gets the job done. No gimmick. Highly recommend him and all of the staff at NYU.

I am so thankful for Dr. Berg. He was the only doctor to accept me as a new patient mid-pregnancy when I moved to New York and I couldnt be happier with him and his staff. He is very laid back and his office has a very relaxed atmosphere. I have seen reviews saying that people have waited hours for every appointment. This has NOT been my experience. I only waited more than 20 minutes once and that was because Dr. Berg was called into emergency surgery at the hospital. I saw many patients being extremely rude to the office staff at that time, but frankly, that emergency surgery should have taken precedence over me having to wait a little longer. Dr. Berg has a dry/sarcastic sense of humor which may or may not be a match for some patients. He is very experienced and dedicated to his work and his patients. I am so thankful for him. He is an excellent doctor.

My OBGYN hurt her back a week before my delivery, so her partner, Dr.Berg delivered my son. This was an absolutely terrible experience. Dr. Berg was extremely curt and rude during my delivery. He appeared to be annoyed that he was even called to deliver the baby. When he checked my cervix he was so rough that I cried and begged the nurses not to let him touch me again, to find another doctor. They replied; “we know he’s being a bit rough, but he’s a good doctor.”I was in active labor for over 3 hrs. Pushing to no avail. With no epidural. I sat still for an epidural at 9cm dialated(which was incredibly difficult) 5 minutes later Dr. berg walked in and said; I don’t know why they decided to give you this now and he turned it off. This wasn’t necessary he could have allowed me to push with the contractions as we read them on the monitor. While in tremendous pain Dr. Berg told me I was making too much noise and being dramatic, he said my baby wasn’t that big and I needed to push harder. I begged for a c-section, he wouldn’t oblige, finally another doctor came in to check my cervix, she told me I needed a c-section because the baby was not in the right position. I’m brought into another room for surgery. Dr Berg begins cutting, I begin to feel a painful sensation, it feels like my skin burning. I’m yelling stop, I can feel everything. The anesthesiologist suggest we wait until the anesthetic begins to work, Dr. Berg says; No, orders more anesthetic, I passed out during the birth of my son.As for my baby not being that big, he was born 9lb 9oz.Dr. Berg never apologized. I ran into him after the birth at one of my follow up appointments a week later . He didn’t even acknowledge me.I’m haunted by this traumatic experience. At a time when the maternal morbidity and mortality rates are so high in this country we need doctors who respect ALL women.

I was a New Jersey resident but used Dr. Bergs office bc few obstetricians were on my plan. Dr. Berg is unethical. He left me in a state of pre eclampsia for so long that I had to have an emergency c-section. He gaslighted me to cover it up and/or prevent a lawsuit. His surgical skills are apparently excellent and my baby was delivered via c section without further incident, thank god, but she lacked the airplane reflex after birth. He skipped seeing me at one point during my three day recovery, so I went to him and the offhanded and gruff way he dealt with me left me speechless. My daughter didn’t stand or walk until two. To this day she has neurological damage. One could argue it would happen anyway (I don’t want to be sued either) but the nasty treatment I got from him was unprecedented.

Dr. Berg performed surgery on me and I was very pleased. Pleased with him and with NYU Langone operation staff! If you have to have surgery of the GYN kind, he is the guy to do it and NYU Langone is the place to do it! Forget about chatting with him, he is kind, but he gets right to business, and his skills as a surgeon are what really count! I was not too happy about one member of his own staff, but hey, you find that attitude stuff in a lot of places unfortunately.

Dr. Berg is the only ob/gyn I trust. I was seeing his former partner when I first became pregnant, but didnt want to wait over a week for an appointment. The office suggested I see Dr. Berg the next business day, and I have been seeing Dr. Berg ever since. He delivered both my children, and I wouldnt want to go through another pregnancy or delivery without him. He is incredibly experienced, knowledgeable, smart as a whip, funny, and one of the best surgeons out there. You wouldnt think it with his dry, sarcastic sense of humor, but watch him hold one of the babies he has delivered, and youll see how proud he is to do his job, and just how much he loves babies. He has a way of putting you at ease by not over-complicating anything thats not worth complicating. As Dr. Berg said when I was newly pregnant and nervous, if a cat can do it, you can do it. He listens to what you have to say, and always answers in a straight-forward, honest manner. I trust Dr. Berg because he is always honest with me, whether I like the answer or not. He returns phone calls and addresses any of your concerns. Yes, there are times you will have to wait a while to see him, but I have experienced this at all doctors offices, especially with other ob/gyns. Usually, its because he was called into surgery, and babies and emergencies cannot wait. Also, if the staff knows ahead of time, they will call you to let you know how late he is running so you can reschedule or accommodate. I greatly appreciate that!Speaking of the office and staff, they are just as wonderful as Dr. Berg. They are always so friendly with me, and make me feel like Im part of the family. They are always asking how my boys are doing, and try to accommodate my schedule as best as possible. Once you book your first prenatal appt, theyll give you the same day and time slot going forward if that works for you. It helped a lot with my planning around work. They make the process so easy, and call in my Rxs whenever needed with a simple phone call. I cannot say enough for how wonderful and caring they are. I cannot imagine going anywhere else.

Absolutely terrible experience. Hour an a half late, waiting rooms were filthy and he was incredibly rude. When I mentioned I had been waiting over an hour and a half for my consult, instead of apologizing, he said “is that a problem?” Gave me horrible vibes. No way in hell I’d let someone like that operate on me.
