This is the best place for individuals with special needs. My oldest son Ahmed was interviewed here to go into their camp Anne program. I am so blessed, that he got accepted and will be going this year. I love AHRC. They are so professional in all they do.

This company promise a lot but dont give much. I am waiting for services to get for my son 2 years and they just change employee who work on your case, luck of help, missing papers, lying, this company you cant trust and you not getting help from them. They have very good Internet site beside that they can offer nothing just waiting and waiting.

My young adult son has attended AHRCs Camp Anne for the last four summers and he loves it. He talks about it during the winter and asks when hell return. Its a wonderful experience for him and for us. My son also attended the AHRC Middle High School for several years and it was the best school experience we found for him in NYC - not perfect, but good. Thumbs up, especially for Camp Anne, where the managers and staff are awesome!

For the last two summers I have worked as a counselor at AHRC Camp Anne, based in Ancramdale NY, and they have undoubtedly been the best two summers of my life. I have met and worked with people from all over the world and made friends for a lifetime, but that doesnt compare to helping and supporting the individuals who come for their summer vacations and spend all year looking forward to it! Yes the work is tough, but it is so rewarding when you see smiles in the pool, the excitement of catching a ball and having pictures taken, made of you and for you. These memories I will cherish and carry for the rest of my life and I could not recommend this Camp enough, or this organisation! They carry out such amazing work in New York for those with disabilities and I am so proud to have been a part of it.

I am a dad, now a single dad, my bride and the mom of our three sons having passed away three years ago. We raised our sons who have intellectual and developmental disabilities including Autism, in our natural home environment from birth to this very day.Our sons have enjoyed a sleep away camp experience since they were 5. When they aged out of school and the camp, at 21, we were beside ourselves ! Through Suffolk AHRC, where we lived, learned AHRC NYC operated a camp for adults who were folks like my sons. We contacted the Director Michael Goldfarb, and were greeted with open arms, went through a simple admissions process. That very summer our three sons, Roy, jr., Mike, and Glenn enjoyed their first experience at Camp Catskill, as they did continuously over the next 25 years and now over the last 5 years at Camp Anne.As Arleen and I always told the camp staff, if they would support our sons there for 2 weeks, we could do it for the other 50 each year. It was a desperately needed respite for us to enhance our relationship with each other, vacation, visit family and friends and so much more. Our sons had wonderful young men and women over the years dedicated to all the campers including them. I cannot speak highly enough of the caliber of these fine folks, some of whom we have maintained relationships, or they have with our sons, who they counselled over all these years. As I reflect on this, kudos to Mike Rose and the camp Directors and leadership over the years in having found and attracted such beautiful men and women over these 30 years, it seems unbelievable. My sons always have a wonderful time and look forward to camp each year. They enjoy being on their own away from mom and dad, and now the old man ! They are so well cared for, doing so many activities, swimming, horseback riding, hiking, boat and golf cart rides, socializing, evening songfests, or skits, around a bonfire to mention just a few. Certainly their daily needs, meals, hygiene, medical, clean and well-staffed cabins, are met to a fair thee well.As a single dad now, my relationship with AHRC NYC is even more valuable, not only for the continued benefit for my sons, but having sole responsibility for my sons now makes it even more important for me to have a break from caring for them and managing their affairs and dealing with the support staff in our home. Without the agency and the camp I simply do not know how I would manage to have a life of my own.

I am waiting for 2 half years to get my son in the program. In the last month i have dealt with very rude disrespectful staff and barley wanted to listen or speak to me, she even didn’t want to give me any information or tell me the right person to speak too or give me a number. All she was telling me you have to speak to someone else and not to me and i don’t know who you have to speak too. Leaving messages doesn’t help they don’t return my calls. Speaking to supervisor doesn’t help he gave the worker phone number and told me call back next week cause she isn’t in. So far i got lil help from one person Raquel but all she could do is just taking and giving me some info.
